< John 6 >

1 After these things, Jesus went away across the sea of Galilee, that is, of Tiberias;
Shure kwezvinhu izvi Jesu wakabva akaenda mhiri kwegungwa reGarirea, rinova reTibheriasi.
2 and there was following him a great multitude, because they had been viewing the signs which he did upon such as were sick.
Zvino chaunga chikuru chikamutevera, nokuti vakaona zviratidzo zvake zvaaiita kune avo vairwara.
3 But Jesus had gone up into the mountain, and, there, was sitting with his disciples.
Jesu ndokukwira mugomo, akagarapo nevadzidzi vake.
4 Now the passover was near, the feast of the Jews.
Zvino pasika, mutambo weVaJudha, wakange waswedera.
5 So then Jesus, lifting up his eyes, and beholding that a great multitude was coming unto him, saith unto Philip—Whence are we to buy loaves, that these may eat?
Zvino Jesu paakasimudza meso, ndokuona kuti chaunga chikuru chinouya kwaari, akati kuna Firipi: Tichatengepi zvingwa, kuti ava vadye?
6 But, this, he was saying, to test him; for, he himself, knew, what he was about to do.
Wakareva izvozvo achimuedza, nokuti iye waiziva zvaaizoita.
7 Philip answered him—Two hundred denaries-worth of loaves, are not sufficient for them, that, each one, may take, a little.
Firipi akamupindura achiti: Zvingwa zvemadhenario mazana maviri hazvivakwani, kuti umwe neumwe wavo atore chidiki.
8 One from among his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, saith unto him—
Umwe wevadzidzi vake, Andiriya munin'ina waSimoni Petro, akati kwaari:
9 There is a little lad here, that hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes, —but, these, —what are they, for such numbers?
Pane kamukomana pano kane zvingwa zvishanu zvebhari nehove diki mbiri; asi zvii kuvazhinji vakadai?
10 Jesus said—Make the people recline. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men reclined, to the number of about five thousand.
Asi Jesu wakati: Garisai vanhu pasi. Zvino kwakange kune uswa uzhinji panzvimbo iyo. Naizvozvo varume vakagara pasi, muuwandu vachinge zvuru zvishanu.
11 Jesus therefore took the loaves, and, giving thanks, went on distributing unto them that reclined; in like manner, of the small fishes also: as much as they were wishing.
Zvino Jesu wakatora zvingwa, avonga akagovera kuvadzidzi, vadzidzi vakagovera avo vakange vagere pasi; saizvozvowo zvehove diki zvakawanda sezvavaida.
12 And, when they were well-filled, he saith unto his disciples—Gather up the broken pieces left over, that nothing be lost.
Zvino vakati vaguta, akati kuvadzidzi vake: Unganidzai zvimedu zvasara, kuti kurege kurasika chinhu.
13 So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets, with broken pieces out of the five barley loaves, —which were left over by them who had eaten.
Naizvozvo vakaunganidza, vakazadza matengu gumi nemaviri nezvimedu zvezvingwa zvishanu zvebhari, zvakasara kune avo vakadya.
14 The people, therefore, seeing what signs he wrought, began to say—This, is, of a truth, the prophet who was to come into the world.
Kuzoti vanhu avo vaona chiratidzo Jesu chaakaita, vakati: Zvirokwazvo uyu ndiye muporofita achauya panyika.
15 Jesus, therefore, getting to know that they were about to come, and seize him, that they might make him king, retired again into the mountain, himself, alone.
Naizvozvo Jesu aziva kuti voda kuuya nekumubata nesimba, kumuita mambo, akasuduruka akaendazve mugomo ari ega.
16 But, when evening came, his disciples went down unto the sea;
Zvino ava madekwani, vadzidzi vake vakaburukira kugungwa,
17 and, entering into a boat, were going across the sea into Capernaum. And, dark, already, had it become, and, not yet, had Jesus reached them;
zvino vapinda muchikepe, vakayambuka gungwa kuuya kuKapenaume. Zvino kwakange kwatosviba, asi Jesu wakange asati asvika kwavari.
18 moreover the sea, by reason of a great wind that blew, was rising high.
Gungwa ndokumuka nokuti mhepo huru yaivhuvhuta.
19 Having therefore rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they observe Jesus, walking upon the sea, and, near the boat, coming; and they were affrighted.
Zvino vakati vakwasva masitadhiya anenge makumi maviri nemashanu kana makumi matatu, vakaona Jesu achifamba pamusoro pegungwa, achiswedera pachikepe; zvino vakatya.
20 But, he, saith unto them—It is, I: be not affrighted!
Asi wakati kwavari: Ndini, musatya.
21 They were willing, therefore, to receive him into the boat; and, straightway, the boat was at land, whither they had been slowly going.
Zvino vakada kumugamuchira muchikepe; pakarepo chikepe chikasvika kunyika kwavakange vachienda.
22 On the morrow, the multitude that was standing on the other side of the sea, saw that there was not, another small-boat, there, save one, —and that Jesus entered not, along with his disciples, unto the boat, but that, alone, his disciples departed: —
Chifume chaunga chakange chimire kune rumwe rutivi rwegungwa, chichiona kuti pakange pasina rimwe igwa ipapo kunze kweriri rimwe makange mapinda vadzidzi vake mariri, uye kuti Jesu haana kupinda nevadzidzi vake mugwa, asi vadzidzi vake vakange vaenda vega,
23 howbeit there came boats out of Tiberias, near the place where they did eat the bread, after the Lord had given thanks: —
(asi kwakasvika mamwe magwa aibva Tibheriyasi pedo nenzvimbo pavakadya chingwa, Ishe avonga);
24 When, therefore, the multitude saw, that, Jesus, was not there, nor yet his disciples, they themselves, got into the small boats, and came unto Capernaum, seeking Jesus;
naizvozvo chaunga chakati chaona kuti Jesu wakange asipo kana vadzidzi vake, ivo vakapindawo mumagwa, vakasvika kuKapenaume, vachitsvaka Jesu.
25 and, finding him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him—Rabbi! when, camest thou, hither?
Zvino vamuwana mhiri kwegungwa, vakati kwaari: Rabhi, masvika pano rinhi?
26 Jesus answered them, and said—Verily, verily, I say unto you: Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye did eat of the loaves and were filled.
Jesu akavapindura akati: Zvirokwazvo, zvirokwazvo, ndinoti kwamuri: Munonditsvaka, kwete nokuti makaona zviratidzo, asi nokuti makadya zvezvingwa mukaguta.
27 Be working, not for the food that perisheth, but for the food that endureth unto life age-abiding, —which, the Son of Man, unto you, will give; for upon, the same, hath the Father, even God, set his seal. (aiōnios g166)
Musashandira kudya kunoparara, asi kudya kunogara kusvika kuupenyu husingaperi, Mwanakomana wemunhu kwaachakupai; nokuti Mwari Baba vakaisa pane uyu mucherechedzo. (aiōnios g166)
28 They said, therefore, unto him—What are we to do, that we may be working the works of God?
Naizvozvo vakati kwaari: Tichaitei, kuti tishande mabasa aMwari?
29 Jesus answered, and said unto them—This, is the work of God: that ye believe on him whom, he, hath sent forth.
Jesu akapindura akati kwavari: Iri ndiro basa raMwari, kuti mutende kune waakatuma iye.
30 They said, therefore, unto him—What, then, art, thou, doing, by way of sign, that we may see, and believe in thee: what art thou working?
Naizvozvo vakati kwaari: Ko imwi munoita chiratidzo chipi kuti tione tikutendei? Munoshandei?
31 Our fathers, did eat, the manna, in the desert, —just as it is written: Bread out of heaven, he gave them to eat.
Madzibaba edu akadya mana murenje, sezvazvakanyorwa zvichinzi: Wakavapa chingwa chakabva kudenga kuti vadye.
32 Jesus said unto them—Verily, verily, I say unto you: Not Moses, gave you the bread out of heaven; but, my Father, giveth you the real bread out of heaven.
Naizvozvo Jesu akati kwavari: Zvirokwazvo, zvirokwazvo, ndinoti kwamuri: Mozisi haana kukupai chingwa chakabva kudenga; asi Baba vangu vanokupai chingwa chechokwadi chinobva kudenga.
33 For, the bread of God, is that which is coming down out of heaven, and giving, life, unto the world.
Nokuti chingwa chaMwari ndiye anoburuka achibva kudenga achipa upenyu kunyika.
34 They said, therefore, unto him—Sir! Evermore, give us this bread.
Zvino vakati kwaari: Ishe, tipei chingwa ichi nguva dzese.
35 Jesus said unto them—I, am the bread of life: he that cometh unto me, in nowise shall hunger, and, he that believeth on me, in nowise shall thirst, any more.
Jesu ndokuti kwavari: Ndini chingwa cheupenyu; uyo anouya kwandiri, haangatongovi nenzara; neanotenda kwandiri haangatongovi nenyota.
36 But I told you—Ye have even seen [me], and yet do not believe.
Asi ndakati kwamuri: Nemwi makandiona, asi hamuna kutenda.
37 All that which the Father is giving me, unto me, will have come, and, him that cometh unto me, in nowise will I cast out, —
Wese Baba wavanondipa achauya kwandiri; neanouya kwandiri, handingatongomurasiri kunze.
38 Because I have come down from heaven, —Not that I should be doing my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Nokuti ndakaburuka kudenga, kwete kuti ndiite chido changu, asi chido chaiye wakandituma.
39 And, this, is the will of him that sent me, That, of all that which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
Zvino ichi ndicho chido chaBaba vakandituma, kuti chese chavakandipa, ndisarasikirwa nechinhu pachiri, asi ndichimutse nezuva rekupedzisira.
40 For, this, is the will of my Father, That, every one that vieweth the Son, and believeth on him, should have life age-abiding, and, I, should raise him up, at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
Uye ichi ndicho chido chewakandituma, kuti wese anoona Mwanakomana uye achitenda kwaari, ave neupenyu husingaperi, uye ini ndichamumutsa nezuva rekupedzisira. (aiōnios g166)
41 The Jews, therefore, began to murmur concerning him, because he said—I, am the bread that came down out of heaven;
Zvino VaJudha vakagunun'una pamusoro pake, nokuti wakati: Ndini chingwa chakaburuka kubva kudenga.
42 and were saying—Is not, this, Jesus, the son of Joseph, —of whom, we, know the father and the mother! How is it then, that he, now, saith: Out of heaven, have I come down?
Ndokuti: Uyu haasi Jesu Mwanakomana waJosefa, baba namai vake vatinoziva isu here? Zvino iye anogoti sei: Ndakaburuka kubva kudenga?
43 Jesus answered, and said unto them—Be not murmuring, one with another:
Naizvozvo Jesu akapindura akati kwavari: Musagunun'una pakati penyu.
44 No one, can come unto me, except, the Father who sent me, draw him, —and, I, will raise him up, in the last day.
Hakuna munhu anogona kuuya kwandiri, kunze kwekuti Baba vakandituma vamukweva, uye ini ndichamumutsa nezuva rekupedzisira.
45 It is written in the prophets, —And they shall be, all, the instructed of God: Every one who hath heard of the Father, and learned, cometh unto me.
Zvakanyorwa muvaporofita zvichinzi: Uye vachadzidziswa vese naMwari. Wese naizvozvo wakanzwa naBaba akadzidza, anouya kwandiri.
46 Not that any one hath seen, the Father, save he who is from God, —this one, hath seen the Father.
Kwete kuti kune wakaona Baba, kunze kweuyu anobva kuna Mwari, uyu wakaona Baba.
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you: He that believeth, hath life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
Zvirokwazvo, zvirokwazvo, ndinoti kwamuri: Anotenda kwandiri, ane upenyu husingaperi. (aiōnios g166)
48 I am the bread of life: —
Ini ndiri chingwa cheupenyu.
49 Your fathers, did eat, in the desert, the manna, —and died:
Madzibaba enyu akadya mana murenje, asi akafa.
50 This, is the bread which, out of heaven, cometh down, that one, thereof, may eat, —and not die.
Ichi chingwa chinoburuka kubva kudenga, kuti munhu adye pachiri agorega kufa.
51 I, am the living bread, which, out of heaven, came down: If one eat of this bread, he shall live unto times age-abiding; and, the bread, moreover, which, I, will give, is, my flesh—for the world’s life. (aiōn g165)
Ini ndini chingwa chipenyu, chakaburuka kubva kudenga; kana munhu achidya zvechingwa ichi, achararama nekusingaperi. Uye chingwa ini chandichapa, inyama yangu, ini yandichapira upenyu hwenyika. (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews, therefore, began to strive one with another, saying—How can this one, unto us, give his flesh to eat?
Naizvozvo VaJudha vakakakavadzana vachiti: Uyu anogona kutipa sei nyama yake tidye?
53 Jesus, therefore, said unto them—Verily, verily, I say unto you—Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood, ye have not life within yourselves.
Naizvozvo Jesu wakati kwavari: Zvirokwazvo, zvirokwazvo, ndinoti kwamuri: Kunze kwekuti mudye nyama yeMwanakomana wemunhu nekunwa ropa rake, hamuna upenyu mamuri.
54 He that feedeth upon my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath life age-abiding, and, I, will raise him up at the last day; (aiōnios g166)
Anodya nyama yangu nekunwa ropa rangu, ane upenyu husingaperi, uye ini ndichamumutsa nezuva rekupedzisira. (aiōnios g166)
55 For, my flesh, is, true, food, and, my blood, is, true, drink:
Nokuti nyama yangu kudya zvirokwazvo, neropa rangu chinwiwa zvirokwazvo.
56 He that feedeth upon my flesh, and drinketh my blood, in me, abideth, and, I, in him.
Anodya nyama yangu nekunwa ropa rangu, anogara mandiri, neni maari.
57 Just as the living Father sent me, —and I live by reason of the Father, he also that feedeth upon me, even he, shall live by reason of me.
Baba vapenyu sezvavakandituma, neni ndinorarama naBaba; naizvozvo anondidya, naiye achararama neni.
58 This, is the bread, which, out of heaven, came down: —Not just as your fathers did eat—and died! He that feedeth upon this bread, shall live unto times age-abiding. (aiōn g165)
Ichi chingwa chakaburuka kubva kudenga; hazvina kuita semadzibaba enyu akadya mana akafa; anodya chingwa ichi, achararama nekusingaperi. (aiōn g165)
59 These things, said he, as, in a synagogue, he was teaching, in Capernaum.
Zvinhu izvi wakazvireva musinagoge achidzidzisa paKapenaume.
60 Many, of his disciples, therefore, when they heard, said—Hard, is this discourse, —Who can, thereunto, hearken?
Naizvozvo vazhinji vevadzidzi vake vakati vachinzwa, vakati: Iri shoko igukutu; ndiani anogona kurinzwa?
61 But Jesus, knowing within himself that his disciples were murmuring concerning this, said unto them—Doth, this, cause, you, to stumble?
Asi Jesu aziva mukati make kuti vadzidzi vake vanogunun'una neizvi, wakati kwavari: Izvi zvinokugumbusai kanhi?
62 [What] then, if ye should view the Son of Man ascending where he was before? …
Ko muchagodini kana muchiona Mwanakomana wemunhu achikwira kwaaiva pakutanga?
63 The spirit, it is, that giveth life, —the flesh, profiteth, nothing: The declarations which, I, have spoken unto you, are, spirit, and, are, life.
Mweya ndiye anoraramisa, nyama haibatsiri chinhu; mashoko ini andinotaura kwamuri, mweya uye upenyu.
64 But there are some from among you, who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who it was would deliver him up; —
Asi variko vamwe venyu vasingatendi. Nokuti Jesu wakange achiziva kubva pakutanga, kuti ndivana ani vaisatenda, uye kuti ndiani waizomutengesa.
65 and he went on to say—For this cause, have I said unto you: No one, can come unto me, except it have been given him, of the Father.
Akati: Nekuda kwaizvozvi ndati kwamuri: Hakuna munhu anogona kuuya kwandiri, kunze kwekuti azvipiwa naBaba vangu.
66 Because of this, many from among his disciples, went away back, and, no longer, with him, were walking.
Kubva ipapo vazhinji vevadzidzi vake vakadzokera shure, vakasazofambazve naye.
67 Jesus, therefore, said unto the twelve—Are, ye also, wishing to withdraw?
Naizvozvo Jesu wakati kune vanegumi nevaviri: Imwiwo hamudi kuenda here?
68 Simon Peter answered him—Lord! unto whom, shall we go? Declarations of life age-abiding, thou hast; (aiōnios g166)
Zvino Simoni Petro akamupindura, akati: Ishe, tichaenda kuna ani? Imwi mune mashoko eupenyu husingaperi, (aiōnios g166)
69 And, we, have believed, and come to know, —that, thou, art the Holy One of God.
uye isu tinotenda, uye tinoziva kuti ndimwi Kristu Mwanakomana waMwari mupenyu.
70 Jesus answered them—Did not, I, make choice, of you, the twelve? And yet, from among you, one, is, an adversary.
Jesu akavapindura akati: Ini handina kukusanangurai imwi vanegumi nevaviri here, asi umwe wenyu ndidhiabhorosi?
71 Now he was speaking of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot: for, the same, was about to deliver him up, —one of the twelve.
Waireva Judhasi Isikariyoti waSimoni; nokuti ndiye waizomutengesa, ari umwe wevanegumi nevaviri.
