< John 5 >

1 After these things, was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up unto Jerusalem.
2 Now there is in Jerusalem, at the Sheep-gate, a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethzatha, —having, five porches.
Nan lavil la, bò Pòtay Mouton yo, te gen yon gwo basen dlo yo te rele nan lang ebre: Betzata. Te gen senk pòt ki te bay sou li.
3 In these, was lying a throng of them who were sick, —blind, lame, withered.
Yo tout yo t'ap tann lè dlo a pran bouyi.
4
Paske, tanzantan, yon zanj Bondye te desann nan basen an vin brase dlo a.
5 And there was a certain man there, who, for thirty-eight years, had continued in his sickness.
6 Jesus, seeing, this one, lying, and taking note that now, a long time, had he continued, saith unto him—Desirest thou to be made, well?
7 The sick man answered him—Sir! I have, no man, that, as soon as the water hath been troubled, might thrust me into the pool; but, while, I, am coming, another, before me, goeth down.
Malad la reponn li: Mèt, mwen pa gen pesonn pou mete m' nan basen an lè dlo a ap bouyi. Lè mwen fè sa pou m' ale, yon lòt gen tan desann anvan mwen.
8 Jesus saith unto him—Rise! take up thy couch, and be walking.
Jezi di li: Leve non. Pran nat ou, mache ou ale.
9 And, straightway, the man was made well and took up his couch, and began to walk. Now it was Sabbath, on that day.
Menm lè a, nonm lan geri. Li ranmase nat li, li pran mache. Men, jou sa fèt la se te yon jou repo.
10 The Jews, therefore, were saying, unto him who had been cured—It is, Sabbath; and it is not allowable for thee to take up thy couch: —
Jwif yo di nonm ki te geri a: Jòdi a se jou repo. Lalwa nou an pa pèmèt pou w'ap pote nat ou jòdi a.
11 who, however, answered them—He that made me well, he, unto me, said—Take up thy couch, and be walking.
Li reponn yo: Se moun ki geri m' lan wi ki di m' ranmase nat mwen, mache m' ale.
12 They questioned him—Who is the man that said unto thee, Take up [thy couch], and be walking?
Lè sa a, yo mande li: Kilès sa a ki di ou ranmase nat ou, mache ou ale a?
13 But, the healed one, knew not, who, it was; for, Jesus, had turned aside, a multitude, being in the place.
14 After these things, Jesus findeth him, in the temple, and said unto him—See! thou hast become, well: —No more, be committing sin, lest, some worse thing, do thee befall.
Pita, Jezi kontre nonm lan nan tanp lan. Li di li konsa: Koute non. Koulye a ou wè ou geri, pa fè peche, tande, pou bagay pi mal pa rive ou.
15 The man went away, and told the Jews, that it was, Jesus, who had made him well.
Nonm lan al di jwif yo se Jezi ki te geri li.
16 And, on this account, were the Jews persecuting Jesus, because, these things, he had been doing, on Sabbath.
17 But, he, answered them—My Father, until even now, is working; and, I, am working.
Men, Jezi reponn yo: Se tout tan Papa m' ap travay. Mwen menm tou, m'ap travay.
18 On this account, therefore, the rather, were the Jews seeking to slay him, —because, not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but was calling God, his own Father, making, himself, equal, with, God.
Poutèt pawòl sa a, jwif yo t'ap chache pi rèd atò pou yo te touye l'. Li pa t' sèlman fè bagay ki kont lalwa repo a, men li te di yo Bondye se papa li. Lè l' di sa, li te fè tèt li pase pou menm moun ak Bondye.
19 Jesus, therefore, answered, and went on to say unto them—Verily, verily, I say unto you: The Son cannot be doing, of himself, a single thing, —save anything he may see, the Father, doing; for, whatsoever, he, may be doing, these things, the Son also, in like manner, doeth.
Lè sa a, Jezi reponn yo: Sa m'ap di nou la a, se vre wi: Pitit Bondye a pa fè anyen pou kò li. Sa l' wè Papa a fè, se sa l' fè tou. Tou sa Papa a ap fè, Pitit la fè l' tou.
20 For, the Father, dearly loveth the Son, and, all things, pointeth out to him, which, himself, is doing; and, greater works than these, will he point out to him, that, ye, may marvel.
21 For, just as the Father waketh up the dead, and quickeneth them, in like manner, the Son also, whom he pleaseth, doth quicken.
Papa a fè moun mouri leve, li ba yo lavi ankò. Konsa tou, Pitit la bay moun li vle lavi.
22 For neither doth, the Father, judge anyone, —but, all the judging, hath given unto the Son:
Papa a pa jije pesonn, men li bay Pitit la tout pouvwa pou jije.
23 That, all, may honour the Son, just as they honour the Father: he that doth not honour the Son, doth not, in fact, honour the Father who sent him.
Konsa, tout moun va gen respè pou Pitit la, menm jan yo gen respè pou Papa a.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you: He that heareth, my word, and believeth in him that sent me, hath life age-abiding, and, into judgment, cometh not, but hath passed over, out of death into life. (aiōnios g166)
Sa m'ap di nou la a, se vre wi: Yon moun ki koute pawòl mwen, ki mete konfyans nan moun ki voye m' lan, l'ap gen lavi ki p'ap janm fini an. Yo p'ap kondannen li. Li deja soti nan lanmò, li antre nan lavi. (aiōnios g166)
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you: There cometh an hour, and now is, when, the dead, shall hearken unto the voice of the Son of God, and, they who have hearkened, shall live.
26 For, just as, the Father, hath life, in himself, in like manner, unto the Son also, hath he given, life, to have, in himself;
Papa a gen pouvwa pou l' bay lavi. Konsa tou, li bay Pitit la pouvwa pou bay lavi tou.
27 And, authority, hath he given him, to be executing, judgment, —because, Son of Man, is he!
28 Do not be marvelling at this: because there come an hour, in which, all they in the tombs, shall hearken unto his voice,
Nou pa bezwen sezi. Lè a pral rive: tout mò ki nan tonm pral tande vwa li,
29 and shall come forth, —they who, the good things, have done, unto a resurrection, of life; but, they who the corrupt things, have practised, unto a resurrection, of judgment.
yo pral leve soti vivan nan tonm yo.
30 I, cannot be doing, of myself, a single thing, —Just as I hear, I judge; and, my judging, is, just, —because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Mwen pa kapab fè anyen pou kò mwen. M'ap jije dapre sa Bondye di mwen. Jijman mwen bon paske sa m'ap chache fè a se pa sa m' vle, men sa moun ki voye m' lan vle.
31 If, I, bear witness, concerning myself, my witness, is not, true.
Si m' pale tèt mwen byen, moun pa ka asepte sa m'ap di a pou verite.
32 Another, it is, who beareth witness concerning me, —and I know that, true, is the witness which he witnesseth concerning me.
Men, se yon lòt k'ap pale byen sou mwen. Mwen konnen sa l'ap di sou mwen an, se verite.
33 Ye, have sent forth unto John, —and he hath borne witness to the truth: —
Nou te voye moun bò kot Jan. Li te di nou verite a jan l' ye a.
34 I, however, not from man, my witness, receive; but, these things, I say, that, ye, may be saved: —
Mwen menm poutèt pa m', mwen pa bezwen pesonn pale pou mwen. Men, mwen di nou sa pou nou kapab sove.
35 He, was the burning and shining lamp, and, ye, were willing to exult, for an hour, in his light.
36 But, I, have, as my witness, something greater than John’s; for, the works which the Father hath given me, that I should complete them, —the works themselves which I am doing, bear witness concerning me, that, the Father, hath sent me.
Men, pou mwen menm, mwen gen yon lòt bagay ki pale an favè m' ki pi bon toujou pase sa Jan te di sou mwen an. Se travay m'ap fè a, travay Papa m' ban m' fè a ki pale pou mwen. Sa fè wè se Papa a ki voye mwen.
37 And so, the Father who sent me, he, hath borne witness concerning me; Neither, a sound of him, at any time, have ye heard, nor, a form of him, have ye seen;
Papa ki voye m' lan, li menm tou l'ap pale an favè mwen. Nou pa janm tande vwa l', ni nou pa janm wè figi li.
38 And, his word, ye have not, within you abiding—because, as touching him whom, he, sent, in him, ye, believe not.
Nou pa kenbe pawòl li yo nan kè nou, paske nou pa kwè nan moun li voye a.
39 Ye search the Scriptures, because, ye, think, by them, to have, life age-abiding; and, those [Scriptures], are they which bear witness concerning me: (aiōnios g166)
N'ap plede etidye sa ki ekri nan Liv la, paske nou mete nan tèt nou nou ka jwenn lavi ki pa janm fini an ladan li. Men, se Liv sa a menm ki pale sou mwen. (aiōnios g166)
40 And yet ye choose not to come unto me, that, life, ye may have.
Malgre sa, nou pa vle vin jwenn mwen pou nou ka gen lavi tout bon an.
41 Glory from men, am I not receiving; —
Mwen p'ap chache lwanj nan men lèzòm.
42 But I have taken knowledge of you, that, the love of God, ye have not, in yourselves: —
Men, mwen konnen ki moun nou ye: nou pa gen renmen pou Bondye nan kè nou.
43 I, have come, in the name of my Father, —and ye are not receiving me: If, another, shall come in his own name, him, ye will receive!
Se Papa m' ki voye mwen. Men, nou pa vle resevwa mwen. Men, kite yon lòt moun vin pou kont li, n'ap resevwa li.
44 How can, ye, believe, —Glory from one another, receiving; and, the glory which is from the only God, are not seeking?
45 Do not think that, I, will accuse you unto the Father: There, is, who accuseth you, even, Moses, —on whom, ye, have set your hope.
46 For, if ye had been believing, in Moses, ye would, in that case, have been believing, in me: for, concerning me, he wrote.
Si nou te kwè tout bon nan Moyiz, nou ta kwè nan mwen tou, paske li ekri sou mwen tou.
47 But, if, in his writings, ye are not believing, how, in my sayings, will ye believe?
Men, nou pa kwè nan sa l' te ekri a. Ki jan pou n' ta fè kwè sa m'ap di nou an?
