< John 4 >

1 When therefore the Lord knew, that the Pharisees had heard—Jesus, more disciples, is making and immersing, than John, —
Awo Jesu nakaziba kuti ba Falisi bakamvwa kuti wakalikuba abasikwiya biingi mbakali kubbabaatizya kwinda Joni
2 although indeed, Jesus himself, was not immersing, but his disciples,
(nekuba kuti welwakwe mwini tensi wakali kubbabbatizya pe, pesi basikwiya bakwe mbabo bakali kubbabbatizya),
3 he left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
wakazwa mu Judiya wabweda lubo ku Galilaya.
4 Now he must needs pass through Samaria.
Pesi chakalelede kuti ayinde mu Samaliya.
5 He cometh, therefore, unto a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground which Jacob gave unto Joseph his son.
Elyo wakasika mumunzi wamu Samaliya utegwa Sychal afwifwi achipanzi chanyika eyo Jakobo njakali wapa mwanakwe Josefa.
6 Now Jacob’s fountain was there. Jesus, therefore, having become toil-worn with the journey, was sitting thus, upon the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.
Chikala cha Jakobo chakaliwo. Jesu wakali wakatala kuzwa mulwendo lwakwe mpawo wakakkala kumbali achikala. Lyakali sikati.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith unto her—Give me to drink!
Umwi mukayintu mu Samaliya wakaza kuzoteka manzi, elyo Jesu wakati kulinguwe, “Ndipe manzi nwe”.
8 for, his disciples, had gone away into the city, that, food, they might buy.
Nkambo basikwiya bakwe bakali banjila mumunzi kuyowula kulya.
9 The Samaritan woman, therefore, saith unto him—How dost, thou, being, a Jew, ask to drink, of me, who am, a Samaritan woman? [for, Jews, have no dealings with Samaritans.]
Mpawo mukayintu mu Samaliya wakamwambila kuti, “Chikonzeka buti, kuti webo nomu Juda undikumbile chakunywa imebo ndemukayintu mu Samaliya”. nkambo ma Juda tabakwe bulidilano pe ama Samaliya.
10 Jesus answered, and said unto her—If thou hadst known the free gift of God, and who it is that is saying unto thee, Give me to drink, thou, wouldst have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.
Jesu wakasandula wati, “anoli walizi chipo cha Leza, akuti ngwani ukukumbila manzi, wayinokumbila nduwe, nkekupa manzi mawumi”.
11 She saith unto him—Sir! not even a bucket, hast thou, —and, the well, is, deep: —Whence, then, hast thou the living water?
Mukayintu, wakati kulinguwe, “Yomwalumi, tokwe chakutesya pe mpawo chikala nchilamfu. Ani mpo ulaajanayi ayo manzi abuumi?
12 Art, thou, greater than, our father Jacob, who gave us the well, —and, himself, out of it drank, and his sons, and his flocks?
Tooli mupati, mbubo na, kwinda taata Jakobo, wakatupa chikala akunwa kuli nchicho lwakwe mwini, abana bakwe ambono zyabo?
13 Jesus answered, and said unto her—Whosoever drinketh of this water, will thirst, again;
Jesu wakasandula wati kulinguwe, “woonse unywa manzi amuchikala echi uyoba anyota lubo. Kufumbwa unywa manzi nginjomupa takoyoba a nyota limbi.
14 But, whosoever shall drink of the water which, I, will give him, in nowise shall thirst, unto times age-abiding, —but, the water which I will give him, shall become, within him, a fountain of water, springing up unto life age-abiding. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
Pesi, manzi ngesikamupe ayoba kasensa kamanzi mulinguwe, kakunka mane kukabekutamani”. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
15 The woman saith unto him—Sir! give me this water, that I thirst not, neither be coming hither to draw.
Mukayintu wakati kulinguwe, “Mwami, ndipe manzi ayo kuchitilakuti nsikabi anyota akuti nsizoboli lubo kuzoteka manzi awa.”
16 He saith unto her—Go, call thy husband, and come hither!
Jesu wakati kulinguwe, “koya, ukite mulumako, mpawo ubolano”
17 The woman answered, and said [unto him]—I have no husband. Jesus saith unto her—Well, saidst thou, A husband, I have not;
Mukayintu wakati kulinguwe, “nsikwe mulumi pe”. Jesu wakati, “waamba kasimpe kuti nsijisi mulumi pe”.
18 for, five husbands, thou hast had, —and, now, he whom thou hast, is not thy, husband: This true thing, hast thou spoken.
Nkambo wakala baalumi musanu, ooyo ngolawe lino temulumako pe. Nzwawamba zilisinizizye.”
19 The woman saith unto him—Sir! I perceive that, a prophet, art, thou: —
Mukayintu wakati kulinguwe, “mwami ndabona kuti ulimusinsimi.
20 Our fathers, in this mountain, worshipped; and, ye, say, that, in Jerusalem, is the place, where, to worship, it behoveth.
Mataata esu bakali kukomba muchilundu echi pesi muti Jelusalema mbobusena bantu nkubelede kukombela.”
21 Jesus saith unto her—Believe me, woman! There cometh an hour, when, neither in this mountain, nor yet in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father.
Jesu wakati kuli nguwe, “yomukayintu ndisyome, chindi chilasika awo nemutakakombe Taata kutali muchilundu echi nabi mu Jelusalemu.
22 Ye, worship, that which ye know not; We, worship, that which we know; because, salvation, is, of the Jews.
Mukomba nchomutazi. Swebo tukomba nchetuzi, nkambo lufutuko luzwa kuba Juda.
23 But there cometh an hour, and, now, is, —when, the real worshippers, shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for, even the Father, is seeking, such as these, as his worshippers.
Nekubaboobo chindi chilasika, nchenchichechi, awo bakomba mukasimpe mpobayomukomba Taata mumuya amubwini, nkambo Taata mbembabo bantu mbayandula kuti babe basikumukomba.
24 God is, spirit; and, they that worship him, in spirit and truth, must needs worship.
Leza ngumuya, aboobo bantu bamukomba belede kumukomba mumuya amubwini”.
25 The woman saith unto him—I know that, Messiah, cometh, who is called Christ, —Whensoever, he, shall come, he will tell us, everything.
Mukayintu wakamwambila kuti, “ndilizi kuti Mesiya uyobuza( ooyo utegwa Kilisito)”. Nazosika uzotupandulwida zyonse.
26 Jesus saith unto her—I, that speak unto thee, am he.
Jesu wakamwambila kuti, “ndendime nguwe oyu uwambula ayebo”.
27 And, hereupon, came his disciples, and they began to marvel, that, with a woman, he was talking. No one, however, said—What seekest thou? or—Why talkest thou with her?
Aleecho chindi basikwiya bakwe bakaboola. Elyo bakagamba kuti nkamboyi nambula amukayintu, pesi taakwe wakamba kuti, “uyandayi?” na kuti “Nkamboyi nambula awe?”
28 The woman, therefore, left her water-vessel, and went away into the city, and saith unto the men—
Awo mukayintu ooyu wakasiya noongo yakwe yamanzi, wabweda kumunzi, wakwambila bantu,
29 Come! see a man, that told me all things that ever I did: Can, this, be, the Christ?
“kamuza, muzobone mwalumi wandambila zintu zyonse nzendakachita. Oyu tekujana waba Kilisito na, nkujana waba nguwe?”
30 They came forth out of the city, and were coming unto him.
Bakazwa mumunzi baza kulinguwe.
31 In the meantime, the disciples were requesting him, saying—Rabbi! eat.
Achindi nchichecho, basikwiya bakwe bakali kumukombelezya kuti “Rabbi, lya”
32 But, he, said unto them—I, have, food, to eat, of which, ye, know not.
Pesi wakati kulinguwe, “Ime ndakulya nkomutazi atala ankuko.”
33 The disciples, therefore, began to say, one to another—Hath anyone brought him, to eat?
Awo basikwiya bakakazyania akati kabo, “Takwe muntu wamwetela kulya pe, mpali na?”
34 Jesus saith unto them—My food, is, that I should do the will of him that sent me, and complete, his work.
Jesu wakati kulimbabo, “kulya kwangu nkuchita luyando lwayoyo wakandituma akumaninsizya mulimu wakwe.
35 Are, ye, not saying—Yet, a fourmonth, it is, and, the harvest, cometh? Lo! I say unto you—Lift up your eyes, and gaze at the fields, —that, white, are they unto, harvest. Already,
Sa tamwambi kuti, 'kuchili myezi yoone nekutakabe goloka'? Ndokumwambila kuti, amunyampule meso anu mulange myunda, nkambo yabizwa kale yelela kutebulwa!
36 he that reapeth, receiveth, a reward, and gathereth fruit unto life age-abiding; that, he that soweth, together may rejoice, with him that reapeth. (aiōnios g166)
Oyo utebula utambula chakufola akubungika michelo yabumi butamani, kuchitila kuti oyo ubyala ayooyo utebula bakakondwe antomwe. (aiōnios g166)
37 For, herein, doth the saying, hold good, —One, is the sower, and, another, is the reaper.
Mulichechi kalasinizya kambyo kati, “umwi ulabyala utebula ngumbi”.
38 I, sent you forth, to be reaping that whereon, ye, have not toiled: Others, have toiled, and, ye, into their toil, have entered.
Ndakamutuma kuyotebula nchemwakata lima. Bamwi bakalima, inywe mwakanjila mumilimu yabo.
39 And, out of that city, many, believed on him—of the Samaritans, —by reason of the word of the woman in bearing witness—He told me all things that ever I did.
Bantu biingi bamu Samaliya bamumunzi oyu bakamusyoma nkambo ka mbakalungulula mukayintu wakali kupa bukamboni, “wandambila zyonse nzendakachita”.
40 When, therefore, the Samaritans came unto him, they went on to request him to abide with them; and he abode there two days.
Bantu bamu Samaliya nibakasika kulinguwe, bakamu kumbila kuti akkale aboo, wakakkala mumunzi oyu kwamazuba aabili.
41 And, many more, believed by reason of his discourse;
Kwakaba bambi biingibakamusyoma nkambo kajwi lyakwe.
42 and, unto the woman, began to say—No longer, by reason of thy talk, do we believe; for, we ourselves, have heard, and know that, This One, is, in truth, the Saviour of the world.
Bakati kumukayintu ooyu, “Tatuchisyomi nkambo kanzwawamba pe, pesi nkambo swebo tobeni twalimvwida, mpawo twaziba kuti nsonzyo oyu mufutuli wanyika”
43 But, after the two days, he went forth from thence, into Galilee.
Nakiinda mazuba aya obile oko waya ku Galilaya.
44 For, Jesus himself, bare witness, that, a prophet, in his own fatherland, hath not, honour.
Nkambo Jesu lwakwe mwini wakamba kuti musinsimi takwe bulemu muchisi mwazwa.
45 So, when he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans welcomed him, having seen, all things, whatsoever he had done in Jerusalem during the feast; for, they also, went unto the feast.
Nakasika mu Galilaya, bantu bamu Galilaya bakamutambula. Bakali bazibona zyonse nzyakali wachita mu Jelusalemu chindi chapobwe, nkambo abalabo bakaliko kupobwe
46 So he came again into Cana of Galilee, where he had made the water, wine. And there was a certain courtier, whose son was sick, in Capernaum.
Alimwi wakaboola lubo ku Kenani mu Galilaya, oko nkwaka sandula manzi kuba wayini. Elyo kwakali umwi sichuno ulemekwa wakala mwana wakali kuchiswa mu Kapenawume.
47 The same, hearing that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, came away unto him, and began requesting him, that he would come down and heal his son; for he was on the point of dying.
Nakamvwa kuti Jesu wasika mu Galilaya kuzwa mu Judiya, wakaya kuli Jesu akumukumbila kuti aakaponie mwana wakwe, wakali wamba kufwa.
48 Jesus therefore said unto him—Except, signs and wonders, ye see, in nowise will ye believe.
Jesu mpawo wakati kuli kulinguwe, “Ado mubone zitondezyo azigambyo, tamukosyoma”.
49 The courtier saith unto him—Sir! come down, ere my child die!
Ooyu sichuno wakamwambila kuti, “Mwami, boola natana fwa mwanangu”.
50 Jesus saith unto him—Be going thy way: thy son, liveth! And the man believed in the word which Jesus spake to him, and at once went his way.
Jesu wakati kuli nguwe, “kooy. Mwanako ulapona”. Ooyu mwalumi wakasyoma majwi Jesu ngakamba kulinguwe, mpawo wakenda.
51 And, when he was even now going down, his servants, met him, saying, that, his boy, was living.
Nakachili kuyobwenda wakaswanana aabalanda bakwe, bakamwambila kuti, mwanakwe muponi.
52 So he enquired the hour, from them, when he began, to amend. They said, therefore, unto him—Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him.
Elyo wakababuzya chindi mwanakwe nakatalika kumvwa kabotu. Bakamwambila kuti, “jilo sikati nakapona”
53 So the father took note that it was, in that hour, wherein Jesus said unto him—Thy son, liveth! and he believed, he, and all his house.
Mpawo wisi wakayibalukwa kuti nchechindi awo Jesu, “Mwana wako wapona.” Elyo we lwakwe mwini abanganda yakwe bakasyoma.
54 Now, this again, as, a second sign, Jesus did, after coming out of Judaea into Galilee.
Echi chakaba chitondezyo chabili echo Jesu nchakachita nakazwa mu Judiya kaya mu Galilay.
