John 17
1 These things, spake Jesus, and, lifting up his eyes unto heaven, said: —Father! The hour is come! Glorify thy Son, that, the Son, may glorify, thee, —
Estas cosas habló Jesús, y levantados los ojos al cielo, dijo: Padre, la hora viene; clarifica a tu Hijo, para que también tu Hijo te clarifique a ti;
2 Even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that, as touching whatsoever thou hast given him, he might give unto them, life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
como le has dado la potestad de toda carne, para que a todos los que le diste, les dé vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
3 And, this, is the age-abiding life, That they get to know thee, the only real God, and him whom thou didst send, Jesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
Esta empero es la vida eterna: que te conozcan el único Dios verdadero, y al que enviaste, Jesús, el Cristo. (aiōnios g166)
4 I, glorified thee on the earth, The work, finishing, which thou hast given me that I should do.
Yo te he clarificado en la tierra; he acabado la obra que me diste que hiciese.
5 And, now, glorify me—thou, Father! with thyself, with the glory which I had, before the world’s existence, with thee.
Ahora pues, Padre, clarifícame tú cerca de ti mismo de aquella claridad que tuve cerca de ti antes que el mundo fuese.
6 I manifested thy name, unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: Thine, they were, and, to me, thou gavest them, and, thy word, have they kept:
He manifestado tu Nombre a los hombres que del mundo me diste; tuyos eran, y me los diste, y guardaron tu palabra.
7 Now, have they come to know, That, all things, as many as thou gavest me, are, from thee;
Ahora ya han conocido que todas las cosas que me diste, son de ti;
8 And, the declarations which thou gavest me, have I given them, and, they, received them, and came to know in truth, that, from thee, came I forth, —and they believed, that, thou, didst send me forth.
porque las palabras que me diste, les he dado; y ellos las recibieron, y han conocido verdaderamente que salí de ti, y han creído que tú me enviaste.
9 I, concerning them, make request: not, concerning the world, do I make request, but concerning them whom thou hast given me, because, thine, they are, —
Yo ruego por ellos; no ruego por el mundo, sino por los que me diste; porque tuyos son;
10 And, all my possessions, are, thine, and, thy possessions, mine, and I have been glorified in them.
y todas mis cosas son tus cosas, y tus cosas son mis cosas; y he sido clarificado en ellas.
11 And, no longer, am I in the world, and, they, are, in the world, —and, I, unto thee, am coming. Holy Father! Keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, as, we.
Y ya no estoy en el mundo; mas éstos están en el mundo, y yo a ti vengo. Padre Santo, a los que me has dado, guárdalos en tu Nombre, para que sean una cosa, como también nosotros.
12 When I was with them, I, kept them in thy name which thou hast given me, —And I kept watch, and, none from among them, went the destruction, —save the son of destruction, that, the Scripture, might be fulfilled.
Cuando estaba con ellos en el mundo, yo los guardaba en tu Nombre; a los que me diste, yo los guardé, y ninguno de ellos se perdió, sino el hijo de perdición; para que la Escritura se cumpliese.
13 But, now, unto thee, am I coming; and, these things, am I speaking in the world, that they may have my own joy fulfilled in themselves.
Mas ahora vengo a ti; y hablo esto en el mundo, para que tengan mi gozo cumplido en sí mismos.
14 I, have given them thy word, and, the world, hated them, because they are not of the world—even as, I, am not of the world.
Yo les he dado tu palabra; y el mundo los aborreció, porque no son del mundo, como tampoco yo soy del mundo.
15 I request not, that thou wouldst take them out of the world, but that thou wouldst keep them out of the evil:
No ruego que los quites del mundo, sino que los guardes del mal.
16 Of the world, they are not, even as, I, am not of the world.
No son del mundo, como tampoco yo soy del mundo.
17 Hallow them in the truth: Thine own word, is, truth:
Santifícalos en tu verdad; tu palabra es la Verdad.
18 Even as thou didst send me forth into the world, I also, send them forth into the world;
Como tú me enviaste al mundo, también yo los he enviado al mundo.
19 And, on their behalf, I, hallow myself, that, they also, may have become hallowed in truth.
Y por ellos yo me santifico a mí mismo, para que también ellos sean santificados en la verdad.
20 Not however concerning these alone, do I make request, but, concerning them also who believe, through their word, on me:
Mas no ruego solamente por ellos, sino también por los que han de creer en mí por la palabra de ellos.
21 That they, all, may be, one, —even as, thou, Father, in me, and, I, in thee, —that, they also, in us, may be; —that, the world, may believe that, thou, didst send me forth.
Para que todos sean una cosa; como tú, oh Padre, en mí, y yo en ti, que también ellos sean en nosotros una cosa; para que el mundo crea que tú me enviaste.
22 And, I, the glory which thou hast given to me, have given to them, that they may be one, even as, we, are, one.—
Y yo, la claridad que me diste les he dado; para que sean una cosa, como también nosotros somos una cosa.
23 I, in them and, thou, in me; That they may have been perfected into, one, —That the world may get to know, that, thou, didst send me forth, and didst love them even as thou didst love, me.
Yo en ellos, y tú en mí, para que sean perfectos en una cosa; y que el mundo conozca que tú me enviaste, y que los has amado, como también a mí me has amado.
24 Father! As touching that which thou hast given me, I desire—That, where, I, am, they also, may be, with me, that they may behold my own glory which thou hast given me, —because thou lovedst me, before the foundation of the world.
Padre, aquellos que me has dado, quiero que donde yo estoy, ellos estén también conmigo; para que vean mi claridad que me has dado; por cuanto me has amado desde antes de la constitución del mundo.
25 Righteous Father! And so, the world, came not to know thee; but, I, came to know thee, and, these, came to know that, thou, didst send me forth:
Padre justo, el mundo no te ha conocido, mas yo te he conocido; y éstos han conocido que tú me enviaste;
26 And I made known unto them thy name, and will make known, —that, the love wherewith thou lovedst me, in them, may be, and, I, in them.
y yo les he manifestado tu Nombre, y lo manifestaré aún; para que el amor con que me has amado, esté en ellos, y yo en ellos.
