< Job 8 >

1 Then responded Bildad the Shuhite, and said: —
Nake Bilidadi ũrĩa Mũshuhi agĩcookia, akĩũria atĩrĩ:
2 How long wilt thou speak these things? Or, as a mighty wind, shall be the sayings of thy mouth?
“Nĩ nginya rĩ ũgũikara ũkĩaragia maũndũ ta macio? Ciugo ciaku no ta inegene rĩa rũhuho rũkĩhurutana.
3 Should, GOD, pervert justice? Or, the Almighty, pervert righteousness?
Mũrungu-rĩ, nĩogomagia ciira wa kĩhooto? Ũcio Mwene-Hinya-Wothe nĩogomagia ũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩ wa ma?
4 Though, thy children, sinned against him, and he delivered them into the hand of their transgression,
Rĩrĩa ciana ciaku ciamwĩhĩirie-rĩ, nĩacirekereirie iherithio nĩ ũndũ wa mehia ma cio.
5 Yet, if, thou thyself, wilt diligently seek unto GOD, —and, unto the Almighty, wilt make supplication;
No rĩrĩ, wee ũngĩcũthĩrĩria Mũrungu na wĩthaithanĩrĩre harĩ Ũcio Mwene-Hinya-Wothe,
6 If, pure and upright, thou thyself, art, surely, now, will he answer thy prayer, and will prosper thy righteous habitation:
ũngĩkorwo ũrĩ mũtheru na mũrũngĩrĩru-rĩ, o na rĩu no arahũke nĩ ũndũ waku nĩguo agũcookie handũ harĩa hakwagĩrĩire.
7 So shall thy beginning appear small, —when, thy latter end, he shall greatly increase!
O na gũtuĩka kĩambĩrĩria gĩaku no kĩoneke kĩrĩ kĩnini, thuutha-inĩ nĩũkagaacĩra mũno.
8 For inquire, I pray thee, of a former generation, and prepare thyself for the research of their fathers; —
“Ũria ũhoro harĩ njiarwa cia tene, na ũtuĩrie maũndũ marĩa maithe mao meerutire,
9 For, of yesterday, are, we, and cannot know, for, a shadow, are our days upon earth:
nĩgũkorwo ithuĩ tũraciarirwo o ro ira na tũtirĩ ũndũ tũũĩ, namo matukũ maitũ ma gũikara gũkũ thĩ no ta kĩĩruru.
10 Shall, they, not teach thee—tell thee, and, out of their memory, bring forth words?
Acio githĩ to makũrute na makũhe ũhoro? Acio githĩ to maarie ũhoro marĩ na ũmenyo?
11 Can the paper-reed grow up, without a marsh? Or the rush grow up, without water?
Irura-rĩ, no rĩkũre handũ hatarĩ itomboya? Ithanjĩ-rĩ, no rĩtheereme handũ hatarĩ maaĩ?
12 Though while still, in its freshness, it be not plucked off, yet, before any kind of grass, it doth wither:
Rĩngĩkũrĩra handũ hatarĩ maaĩ rĩũmaga narua gũkĩra nyeki, o na rĩtakinyĩte rĩa gũtuuo.
13 So, shall be the latter end of all who forget GOD, and, the hope of the impious, shall perish:
Ũcio nĩguo mũthia wa arĩa othe mariganagĩrwo nĩ Mũrungu; ũguo no ta guo mwĩhoko wa arĩa matooĩ Ngai ũthiraga.
14 Whose trust shall be contemptible, —and, a spider’s web, his confidence:
Kĩrĩa ehokete no kĩndũ kĩhũthũ; kĩrĩa egiritanagia nakĩo no ta rũrenda rwa mbũmbũĩ.
15 He leaneth upon his house, and it will not stand, he holdeth it fast, and it will not remain erect.
Etiiranagia na rũrenda rwake, naruo rũgatuĩka; akenyiitĩrĩra harĩ ruo, no rũtingĩmũtiirĩrĩra.
16 Full of moisture he is, before the sun, and, over his garden, his shoot goeth forth:
Ahaana ta mũtĩ ũitĩrĩirio maaĩ wega ũrĩ riũa-inĩ, ũtambũrũkĩtie thuuna ciaguo mũgũnda-inĩ;
17 Over a heap, his roots are entwined, a place of stones, he descrieth;
mĩri yaguo ĩĩthiororokeirie kĩhumbu kĩa mahiga, na ĩcaragia ha kwĩgwatĩrĩra rwaro-inĩ rwa mahiga.
18 If one destroy him out of his place, then will it disown him [saying] —I have not seen thee.
No rĩrĩa wakũũrwo harĩa ũraarĩ-rĩ, handũ hau hagakaana mũtĩ ũcio, hakoiga atĩrĩ, ‘Niĩ ndirĩ ndakuona.’
19 Lo! that, is the joy of his way, —and, out of the dust, shall others spring up.
Ti-itherũ muoyo waguo ũmaga ũgathira, naho hau tĩĩri-inĩ ũcio hagakũra mĩtĩ ĩngĩ.
20 Lo! GOD, will not reject a blameless man, neither will he grasp the hand of evil-doers:
“Ti-itherũ Mũrungu ndangĩrega mũndũ ũtarĩ ũcuuke, kana ekĩre moko ma arĩa mekaga ũũru hinya.
21 At length he shall fill with laughter thy mouth, and thy lips, with a shout of triumph:
Na rĩrĩ, no arĩiyũria kanua gaku mĩtheko, nayo mĩromo yaku yanĩrĩre nĩ gũkena.
22 They who hate thee, shall be clothed with shame, but, the tent of the lawless, shall not be!
Thũ ciaku nĩikahumbwo thoni, nacio hema cia arĩa aaganu itigacooka kuonwo.”
