Job 38
1 Then Yahweh responded to Job, out of a storm, and said: —
அப்பொழுது யெகோவா பெருங்காற்றிலிருந்து யோபுவுடன் பேசினார்:
2 Who is it that darkeneth counsel, by words, without knowledge?
“அறிவற்ற வார்த்தைகளினால் என் ஆலோசனையை தெளிவற்றதாக்குகிற இவன் யார்?
3 Gird, I pray thee—like a strong man—thy loins, that I may ask thee, and inform thou me:
இப்பொழுது நீ ஒரு திடமனிதனாய் நில்; நான் உன்னிடம் கேள்வி கேட்கப்போகிறேன், நீ எனக்குப் பதில் சொல்லவேண்டும்.
4 Where wast thou, when I founded the earth? Tell, if thou knowest understanding!
“நான் பூமிக்கு அஸ்திபாரம் போடும்போது நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்? உனக்கு விளங்கினால் அதை எனக்குச் சொல்.
5 Who set the measurements thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched out over it a line?
அதின் அளவைக் குறித்தவர் யார்? அதின்மேல் அளவுநூலைப் பிடித்தது யார்? நீ சொல், உனக்குத் தெரிந்திருக்குமே!
6 Whereon were the pedestals thereof sunk? Or who laid the corner stone thereof; —
அதின் தூண்கள் எதன்மேல் அமைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன? அதின் மூலைக்கல்லை வைத்தவர் யார்?
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
அப்பொழுது விடிவெள்ளிகள் ஒன்றாகக்கூடி பாட்டுப்பாடின; இறைத்தூதர்கள் ஒன்றுகூடி மகிழ்ச்சியால் ஆர்ப்பரித்தனரே.
8 Or [who] shut in, with double doors, the sea, when, bursting out of the womb, it came forth;
“கடல் தன் கருப்பையிலிருந்து வெடித்து வெளிப்பட்டபோது, அதைக் கதவுகளுக்குப் பின்வைத்து அடைத்தவர் யார்?
9 When I put a cloud as the garment thereof, and a thick cloud as the swaddling-band thereof;
நான் மேகத்தை அதற்கு உடையாக வைத்தபோதும், காரிருளினால் அதைச் சுற்றியபோதும்,
10 And brake off for it my boundary, and fixed a bar and double doors;
நான் அதற்கு எல்லைகளை அமைத்துத் தாழ்ப்பாள்களையும் கதவுகளையும் வைத்தபோது நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்?
11 And said—Hitherto, shalt thou come, and no further, —and, here, shalt thou set a limit to the majesty of thy waves?
நான் அதனிடம், ‘நீ இதுவரை வா, மீறி வராதே; உன் அகங்கார அலைகள் அடங்குவதாக’ என்று சொன்னபோது நீ எங்கேயிருந்தாய்?
12 Since thy days [began] hast thou commanded the morning? or caused the dawn to know its place;
“உன் வாழ்நாளில் காலைநேரத்திற்குக் கட்டளையிட்டு, அதிகாலைப்பொழுதுக்கு அதின் இடத்தைக் காட்டினதுண்டோ?
13 That it might lay hold of the wings of the earth, and the lawless be shaken out of it?
இவ்வாறு, பூமியின் ஓரங்களைப் பிடித்து அதிலிருந்து கொடியவர்களை உதறித் தள்ளும்படி சொன்னதுண்டோ?
14 It transformeth itself like the clay of a seal, so that things stand forth like one arrayed;
முத்திரையிடப்பட்ட களிமண்போல் பூமி உருப்பெறுகிறது; அதின் இயற்கைத் தோற்றங்களும் உடைகளைப்போல் நிற்கின்றன.
15 That their light may be withdrawn from the lawless, and, the lofty arm, be shivered.
கொடியவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சம் மறுக்கப்படுகிறது; உயர்த்தப்பட்ட அவர்களின் புயம் முறிக்கப்படும்.
16 Hast thou entered as far as the springs of the sea? Or, through the secret recesses of the resounding deep, hast thou wandered?
“கடலின் ஊற்றுக்களுக்கு நீ போனதுண்டோ? அல்லது ஆழத்தின் உள்ளிடங்களில் நடந்திருக்கிறாயோ?
17 Have the gates of death been disclosed to thee? And, the gates of the death-shade, couldst thou descry?
மரண வாசல்கள் உனக்குக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டதுண்டோ? மரண இருளின் வாசல்களை நீ கண்டதுண்டோ?
18 Hast thou well considered, even the breadths of the earth? Tell—if thou knowest it all!
பூமியின் அகன்ற வெளிகளை நீ விளங்கிக்கொண்டாயோ? இவைகளெல்லாம் உனக்குத் தெரியுமானால் எனக்குச் சொல்.
19 Where then is the way, the light shall abide? And, the darkness, where then is its place?
“வெளிச்சம் வசிக்கும் இடத்திற்குப் போகும் வழி எது? இருள் எங்கே குடியிருக்கிறது?
20 That thou mayest conduct it unto the bound thereof, and that thou mayest perceive the paths to its house.
அவற்றை அவை இருக்கும் இடத்திற்குக் கூட்டிச்செல்ல உன்னால் முடியுமா? அவைகள் தங்குமிடத்திற்கான பாதைகளை நீ அறிவாயோ?
21 Thou knowest, for, then, hadst thou been born! And, in number, thy days are many!
இவை உனக்குத் தெரிந்திருக்குமே; இவைகளுக்கு முன்னே நீ பிறந்து பல வருடங்கள் வாழ்ந்துவிட்டாய் அல்லவா!
22 Hast thou entered into the treasuries of the snow? And, the treasuries of the hail, couldst thou see?
“உறைபனியின் களஞ்சியங்களுக்குள் நீ போயிருக்கிறாயோ? பனிக்கட்டி மழையின் களஞ்சியங்களைக் கண்டிருக்கிறாயோ?
23 Which I have reserved for a time of distress, for the day of conflict and of war?
கஷ்ட காலத்திலும், கலகமும் யுத்தமும் வரும் நாட்களிலும் பயன்படுத்தும்படி நான் அவைகளைச் சேர்த்து வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
24 Where then is the way the lightning is parted? The east wind spreadeth itself abroad over the earth.
மின்னல் புறப்படும் இடத்திற்கு வழி எங்கே? கீழ்காற்று பூமியின்மேல் வீசுவதற்கான வழி எங்கே?
25 Who hath cloven—for the torrent—a channel? Or a way for the lightning of thunders;
பலத்த மழைக்கு வாய்க்காலை வெட்டுபவர் யார்? இடி மின்னலோடு வரும் மழைக்கு வழியை ஏற்படுத்துகிறவர் யார்?
26 To give rain over the no-man’s land, the desert, where no son of earth is;
ஒருவரும் குடியிராத நிலத்திற்கும், எவருமே இல்லாத பாலைவனத்திற்கும் பசுமையைக் கொடுப்பதற்காகவும்,
27 To satisfy the wild and the wilderness, to cause to spring forth the meadow of young grass?
வனாந்திரமான பாழ்நிலத்தை பசுமையாக்கி, அதில் புல் பூண்டுகளை முளைக்கப்பண்ணும்படி செய்கிறவர் யார்?
28 Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
மழைக்கு ஒரு தகப்பன் உண்டோ? பனித்துளிகளைப் பெற்றெடுத்தவர் யார்?
29 Out of whose womb, came forth the ice? And, the hoar-frost of the heavens, who hath given it birth?
யாருடைய கருப்பையிலிருந்து பனிக்கட்டி வருகிறது? வானங்களிலிருந்து வரும் உறைபனியைப் பெற்றெடுக்கிறவர் யார்?
30 Like a stone, are the waters congealed, and, the face of the roaring deep, becometh firm!
தண்ணீர்கள் கல்லைப்போலவும், ஆழத்தின் மேற்பரப்பு உறைந்துபோகவும் செய்கிறவர் யார்?
31 Canst thou bind the fetters of the Pleiades? Or, the bands of Orion, canst thou unloose?
“அழகான கார்த்திகை நட்சத்திரத்தை நீ இணைக்கமுடியுமோ? மிருகசீரிட நட்சத்திரத்தைக் கட்டவிழ்க்க உன்னால் முடியுமோ?
32 Canst thou bring forth the signs of the Zodiac each in its season? Or, the Bear and her Young, canst thou lead?
விடிவெள்ளிக் கூட்டங்களை அதினதின் காலத்தில் கொண்டுவருவாயோ? சிம்மராசி நட்சத்திரத்தையும் அதின் கூட்டத்தையும் வழிநடத்த உன்னால் முடியுமோ?
33 Knowest thou, the statutes of the heavens? Or didst thou appoint his dominion over the earth?
வானமண்டலத்தை ஆளும் சட்டங்களை நீ அறிவாயோ? பூமியின்மேல் அவைகளின் ஆட்சியை நீ அமைப்பாயோ?
34 Canst thou lift up, to the thick cloud, thy voice, and the overflow of waters cover thee?
“நீ மேகங்களுக்குச் சத்தமிட்டுச் சொல்லி வெள்ளம் உன்னை மூடும்படிச் செய்வாயோ?
35 Canst thou send forth the lightnings, so that they go, and say to thee, Behold us?
மின்னல்களின் தாக்குதல்களை அதின் வழியிலே அனுப்புவது நீயா? ‘இதோ பார், நாங்கள் இருக்கிறோம்’ என அவை உன்னிடம் அறிவிக்குமோ?
36 Who hath put—into cloud-forms—wisdom? Or who hath given—to the meteor—understanding?
இருதயத்தை ஞானத்தால் நிரப்பியவரும், மனதுக்கு விளங்கும் ஆற்றலைக் கொடுத்தவரும் யார்?
37 Who can count the thin clouds, in wisdom? And, the bottles of the heavens, who can empty out;
யாருக்கு மேகங்களைக் கணக்கிடும் ஞானம்? வானத்தின் தண்ணீர்ச் சாடிகளை,
38 When the dust is cast into a clod, and the lumps are bound together?
தூசியானது மண்கட்டிகளாகி ஒன்றோடொன்று ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளவும், மேகங்களிலுள்ள தண்ணீரைப் பொழியச்செய்கிறவர் யார்?
39 Wilt thou hunt—for the Lioness—prey? Or, the craving of the Strong Lion, wilt thou satisfy;
“நீ சிங்கத்திற்கு இரையை தேடி, அவைகளின் பசியை தீர்ப்பாயோ?
40 When they settle down in dens, abide in covert, for lying in wait?
சிங்கக்குட்டிகள் குகைகளிலும் புதர்களுக்குள்ளும் இருக்கும்போது அவைகளின் பசியை நீ தீர்ப்பாயோ?
41 Who prepareth for the Raven his nourishment, —when his young ones—unto GOD—cry out, [when] they wander for lack of food?
காக்கைக்குஞ்சுகள் இறைவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, உணவின்றி அலையும்போது உணவைக் கொடுப்பது யார்?
