Job 35
1 Moreover Elihu, responded and said: —
१अलीहूने आपले बोलणे चालू ठेवले. तो म्हणाला,
2 This, dost thou think to be right? Thou hast said—My righteousness is more than GOD’S.
२“तू निष्पाप आहे असा तू विचार करतोस काय? मी देवापेक्षा अधीक नितीमान आहे असा तू विचार करतोस काय?
3 For thou dost say, How can one profit by thee? How can I benefit, more than by my sin?
३तू देवाला विचारतोस ‘जर मी नितीमान असण्याचा मला काय लाभ मिळेल? मी जर पाप केले नाहीतर त्यामुळे माझे काय चांगले होणार आहे?’
4 I, will answer thee plainly, and thy friends with thee.
४मी तुला उत्तर देतो, तू आणि तुझे मित्र यांना देखील.
5 Look at the heavens and see, —and survey the skies—they are higher than thou.
५वरती आकाशाकडे बघ, तुझ्यापेक्षा उंच असणाऱ्या ढगांकडे बघ.
6 If thou sinnest, what canst thou work against him? Or, if thy transgressions be multiplied, what canst thou do unto him?
६जर तू पाप केलेस तर त्यामुळे देवाला कसली इजा होत नाही? तुझ्याकडे पापांच्या राशी असल्या तरी त्यामुळे देवाला काही होत नाही?
7 If thou art righteous, what canst thou give unto him? Or what, at thy hand, can he accept?
७आणि तू खूप नितीमान असलास तरी तू देवाला काही देऊ शकत नाहीस? तुझ्याहातून त्यास काहीच मिळत नाही?
8 Unto a man like thyself, might thy lawlessness [reach], and, unto a son of the earth-born, thy righteousness.
८तुझे दुष्टपण कदाचित मनुष्यास ईजा पोहचवेल, जसा तू मनुष्य आहेस, आणि तुझे नितीमत्वाचा कदाचीत एखाद्या मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला लाभ होईल.
9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions, [men] make outcry, They cry for help, by reason of the arm of the mighty;
९पुष्कळशा वाईट कृत्यामुळे लोकांस दु: ख झाले तर ते ओरडतील. ते सामर्थ्यवान लोकांकडे जातात आणि मदतीची याचना करतात.
10 But none saith—Where is GOD my maker, Who giveth songs in the night;
१०परंतु कोणीही असे म्हणणार नाहीत, मला निर्माण करणारा देव कुठे आहे? जो रात्रीला गीत देतो,
11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and, beyond the bird of the heavens, giveth us wisdom?
११‘देवाने आम्हास आकाशातील पशुपक्ष्यांपेक्षा शहाणे बनवले आहे तेव्हा तो कुठे आहे?’ पृथ्वीवरील जंगली प्राण्यापेक्षा जो मला अधीक शिकवतो,
12 There, [men] make outcry, and he answereth not, because of the arrogance of evil-doers.
१२त्यामुळे त्यांनी देवाकडे मदत मागितली तरी देव त्यांना उत्तर देणार नाही कारण ते लोक अतिशय गर्विष्ठ आहेत.
13 Howbeit, vanity, will GOD not hear, Yea, the Almighty, will not regard it.
१३देव त्यांच्या तुच्छ याचनेकडे लक्ष देणार नाही सर्वशक्तिमान देव त्यांच्याकडे लक्ष देणार नाही.
14 How much less when thou sayest thou wilt not regard him! The cause, is before him, and thou must wait for him.
१४तेव्हा, तू जेव्हा असे म्हणशील की देव तुला दिसत नाही तेव्हा देव तुझ्याकडे लक्ष देणार नाही तर तू त्याची वाट पाहत रहा!
15 But, now, because it is not so, [thou sayest] —His anger hath punished, and yet hath he not at all known of transgression;
१५तो तुला किती थोडक्यात उत्तर देईल जर तू असे म्हणालास तो क्रोधाने कोणालाही शिक्षा करीत नाही, आणि तो लोकांच्या गर्वीष्ठपणाकडे फारसे लक्ष देत नाही.
16 Thus, Job, vainly openeth his mouth, Without knowledge, he multiplieth words.
१६म्हणून ईयोब मुर्खपणाचे बोलण्यासाठी त्याचे मुख उघडतो. तो ज्ञानाविना त्याचे शब्द बोलत राहतो.”
