< Job 35 >
1 Moreover Elihu, responded and said: —
Tete Elihu yi eƒe nuƒoa dzi be,
2 This, dost thou think to be right? Thou hast said—My righteousness is more than GOD’S.
“Èsusu be esia le dzɔdzɔea? Ègblɔ be, ‘Mawu atso afia nam’
3 For thou dost say, How can one profit by thee? How can I benefit, more than by my sin?
gake nèhele ebiam be, ‘Viɖe ka wònye nam eye nu ka makpɔ le eme ne nyemewɔ nu vɔ̃ o?’
4 I, will answer thee plainly, and thy friends with thee.
“Medi be maɖo eŋu na wò kple xɔ̃wò siwo le gbɔwò.
5 Look at the heavens and see, —and survey the skies—they are higher than thou.
Wu mo dzi nàkpɔ dziƒo ɖa, le ŋku ɖe lilikpo siwo le dziƒo boo le tawòme
6 If thou sinnest, what canst thou work against him? Or, if thy transgressions be multiplied, what canst thou do unto him?
Ne èwɔ nu vɔ̃ la, nu ka wòawɔ le eŋu? Ne wò nu vɔ̃wo sɔ gbɔ fũu la, nu ka wòagblẽ le eŋu?
7 If thou art righteous, what canst thou give unto him? Or what, at thy hand, can he accept?
Ne ènye dzɔdzɔetɔ la, nu kae nètsɔ nɛ, alo nu kae wòxɔ tso asiwò me?
8 Unto a man like thyself, might thy lawlessness [reach], and, unto a son of the earth-born, thy righteousness.
Ame abe wò ene ko dzie wò vɔ̃ɖivɔ̃ɖi awɔ dɔ ɖo eye amegbetɔviwo ko dzie wò dzɔdzɔenyenye awɔ dɔ ɖo.
9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions, [men] make outcry, They cry for help, by reason of the arm of the mighty;
“Amewo le ɣli dom le teteɖeanyi ƒe agba kpekpewo te, wole kuku ɖem be woana gbɔdzɔe yewo tso Ŋusẽtɔ la ƒe alɔ sesẽ te
10 But none saith—Where is GOD my maker, Who giveth songs in the night;
gake ɖeke mebia be, ‘Afi ka Mawu, nye Wɔla, ame si nana kafuhawo ɖina le zã me,
11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and, beyond the bird of the heavens, giveth us wisdom?
ame si fiaa nu geɖewo mí, wu gbemelã siwo le anyigba dzi eye wòwɔ mí nunyalawoe wu dziƒoxeviwo la le?’
12 There, [men] make outcry, and he answereth not, because of the arrogance of evil-doers.
Ne amewo le ɣli dom nɛ la, metɔna o, le ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe ɖokuiŋudzedze ta.
13 Howbeit, vanity, will GOD not hear, Yea, the Almighty, will not regard it.
Vavã, Mawu meɖo to woƒe kokoƒoƒo gbɔlo la o eye Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la do toku wo.
14 How much less when thou sayest thou wilt not regard him! The cause, is before him, and thou must wait for him.
Ne meɖo to emawo o la, aleke wòaɖo to esia ya boŋ esi nègblɔ be, mele ekpɔm o, wò nya la le eƒe asi me, eye ele be nàlalae.
15 But, now, because it is not so, [thou sayest] —His anger hath punished, and yet hath he not at all known of transgression;
Gawu la, egblɔ be eƒe dziku mehea to na ame gbeɖe o eye menyea kɔ kpɔa vɔ̃ɖivɔ̃ɖi gɔ̃ hã o.
16 Thus, Job, vainly openeth his mouth, Without knowledge, he multiplieth words.
Ale Hiob ke eƒe nu hegblɔ nya dzodzrowo eye wòlɔ nya siwo me gɔmesese aɖeke mele o la kɔ ɖi gleglegle.”
