Job 34
1 Furthermore Elihu responded, and said: —
एलिहू ने फिर कहा:
2 Hear, ye wise men, my words, and, ye who know, give ear unto me;
“बुद्धिमानों, मेरा वक्तव्य सुनो; आप तो सब समझते ही हैं, तब मेरी सुन लीजिए.
3 For, the ear, trieth words, as, the palate, tasteth in eating.
जैसे जीभ भोजन के स्वाद को परखती है, कान भी वक्तव्य की विवेचना करता है.
4 What is right, let us choose for ourselves, Let us know, among ourselves, what is good;
उत्तम यही होगा, कि हम यहां अपने लिए; वही स्वीकार कर लें, जो भला है.
5 For Job hath said—I am righteous, But, GOD, hath turned away my right;
“अय्योब ने यह दावा किया है ‘मैं तो निर्दोष हूं, किंतु परमेश्वर ने मेरे साथ अन्याय किया है;
6 Concerning mine own right, shall I tell a falsehood? Incurable is my disease—not for any transgression.
क्या अपने अधिकार के विषय में, मैं झूठा दावा करूंगा? मेरा घाव असाध्य है, जबकि मेरी ओर से कोई अवज्ञा नहीं हुई है.’
7 What man is like Job? He drinketh in scoffing like water;
क्या ऐसा कोई व्यक्ति है, जो अय्योब के समान हो, जो निंदा का जल समान पान कर जाते हैं,
8 And is on the way to keep company, with the workers of iniquity, and to walk with lawless men.
जो पापिष्ठ व्यक्तियों की संगति करते हैं; जो दुर्वृत्तों के साथ कार्यों में जुट जाते हैं?
9 For he hath said, It profiteth not a man, when, his good pleasure, is with God.
क्योंकि उन्होंने यह कहा है, ‘कोई लाभ नहीं होता यदि कोई व्यक्ति परमेश्वर से आनंदित होता.’
10 Wherefore, ye men of mind, hearken unto me, —Far be it, that, GOD, should be lawless, or, the Almighty, be perverse!
“तब अब आप ध्यान से मेरी सुन लीजिए, आप तो बुद्धिमान हैं. परमेश्वर के लिए तो यह संभव ही नहीं कि वह किसी भी प्रकार की बुराई करे, सर्वशक्तिमान से कोई भूल होना संभव नहीं.
11 For, what any son of earth doeth, he repayeth him, and, according to every man’s course, he causeth him to find.
क्योंकि वह तो किसी को भी उसके कार्यों के अनुरूप प्रतिफल देते हैं; तथा उसके आचरण के अनुसार फल भी.
12 Nay, verily, GOD, will not condemn unjustly, —nor, the Almighty, pervert justice.
निश्चय, परमेश्वर बुराई नहीं करेंगे तथा सर्वशक्तिमान न्याय को विकृत नहीं होने देंगे.
13 Who set him in charge of the earth? Or who appointed [him] the whole world?
पृथ्वी पर उन्हें अधिकारी किसने बनाया है? किसने संपूर्ण विश्व का दायित्व उन्हें सौंपा है?
14 If he should set against him his heart, His spirit and his inspiration, unto himself he should withdraw.
यदि वह यह निश्चय कर लेते हैं, कि वह कोई कार्य निष्पन्न करेंगे, यदि वह अपनी आत्मा तथा अपना श्वास ले लें,
15 All flesh together, would cease to breathe, and, the earth-born, unto dust, would return.
तो समस्त मानव जाति तत्क्षण नष्ट हो जाएगी तथा मनुष्य धूल में लौट जाएगा.
16 If then [thou hast] understanding, hear this, Give thou ear to the teaching of my words: —
“किंतु यदि वास्तव में आप में समझ है, यह सुन लीजिए; मेरे शब्द की ध्वनि पर ध्यान दीजिए.
17 Shall, the very hater of right, control? Or, the just—the mighty one, wilt thou condemn?
क्या यह उपयुक्त है कि वह शासन करे, जिसे न्याय से घृणा है? क्या आप उस शूर पर, जो पूर्ण धर्मी है दंड प्रसारित करेंगे?
18 Doth one say to a king, Abandoned one! Or, Lawless one! unto nobles?
जिसमें राजा तक पर यह आक्षेप लगाने का साहस है ‘निकम्मे,’ तथा प्रधानों पर, ‘तुम दुष्ट हो,’
19 For he hath shewn no respect of persons unto princes, neither hath he recognised the rich rather than the poor? For, the work of his hands, are they all.
जो प्रमुखों से प्रभावित होकर उनका पक्ष नहीं करता, जो न दीनों को तुच्छ समझ धनाढ्यों को सम्मान देता है, क्योंकि उनमें यह बोध प्रबल रहता है दोनों ही एक परमेश्वर की कृति हैं?
20 In a moment, they die, even in the middle of the night, —A people are convulsed when they pass away, A mighty one is removed, without hand;
सभी की मृत्यु क्षण मात्र में हो जाती है, मध्य रात्रि के समय एक पल के साथ उनके प्राण उड़ जाते हैं, हां, शूरवीर तक, बिना किसी मानव हाथ के प्रहार के चले जाते हैं.
21 For, his eyes, are on the ways of a man, and, all his footsteps, he beholdeth, —
“क्योंकि मनुष्य की हर एक गतिविधि पर परमेश्वर की दृष्टि रहती है; उसकी समस्त चाल परमेश्वर को मालूम रहते हैं.
22 No darkness, and no death-shade, where the workers of iniquity may hide.
न तो कोई ऐसा अंधकार है, और न ही ऐसी कोई छाया, जहां दुराचारी छिपने के लिए आश्रय ले सकें.
23 For, unto no man, doth he appoint a repetition, —in going unto GOD in judgment;
परमेश्वर के लिए यह आवश्यक नहीं, कि वह किसी मनुष्य के लिए गए निर्णय पर विचार करें, कि मनुष्य को न्याय के लिए परमेश्वर के सामने उपस्थित होना पड़े.
24 He shattereth mighty ones unsearchably, and setteth up others in their stead:
बिना कुछ पूछे परमेश्वर, शूरवीरों को चूर-चूर कर देते हैं, तब अन्य व्यक्ति को उसके स्थान पर नियुक्त कर देते हैं.
25 Therefore, he observeth their works, —and overturneth [them] in a night, and they are crushed;
तब परमेश्वर को उनके कृत्यों का पूरा हिसाब रहता है, रात्रि के रहते ही वह उन्हें मिटा देते हैं, वे कुचल दिए जाते हैं.
26 In the place of lawless men, hath he chastised them, in presence of beholders.
उन पर परमेश्वर का प्रहार वैसा ही होता है, मानो कोई दुराचारी सार्वजनिक रीति से दंडित किया जा रहा हो,
27 Forasmuch, as they turned from following him, and, none of his ways, did they teach;
क्योंकि वे परमेश्वर से दूर हो गये थे, उन्होंने परमेश्वर के मार्ग का कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया था,
28 Causing to reach him the outcry of the poor, Yea, the outcry of the oppressed, he heareth.
कि कंगालों की पुकार परमेश्वर तक जा पहुंची, कि पीड़ित की पुकार परमेश्वर ने सुनी.
29 When, he, giveth quiet, who then shall condemn? And, when he hideth [his] face, who then shall sing of him? whether unto a nation or unto mankind altogether,
जब परमेश्वर चुप रहते हैं, तब उन पर उंगली कौन उठा सकेगा? तथा अगर वह मुख छिपाने का निर्णय ले लें, तो कौन उनकी झलक देख सकेगा; चाहे कोई राष्ट्र हो अथवा व्यक्ति?
30 That impious men may not reign, nor be ensnarers of the people.
किंतु दुर्जन शासक न बन सकें, और न ही वे प्रजा के लिए मोहजाल प्रमाणित हों.
31 For, unto GOD, hath one [ever] said—I have borne punishment, I will not be perverse;
“क्या कोई परमेश्वर के सामने यह दावा करे, ‘मैं तो गुनहगार हूं, परंतु इसके बाद मुझसे कोई अपराध न होगा.
32 What I see not, do, thou, shew me, If, perverseness, I have wrought, I will do it no more?
अब आप मुझे उस विषय की शिक्षा दीजिए; जो मेरे लिए अब तक अदृश्य है. चाहे मुझसे कोई पाप हो गया है, मैं अब इसे कभी न करूंगा.’
33 According to thy mind, must he requite it, that thou hast refused? For, thou, must choose, and not, I, What then thou knowest, speak!
महोदय अय्योब, क्या परमेश्वर आपकी शर्तों पर नुकसान करेंगे, क्योंकि आपने तो परमेश्वर की कार्यप्रणाली पर विरोध प्रकट किया है, चुनाव तो आपको ही करना होगा मुझे नहीं तब; अपने ज्ञान की घोषणा कर दीजिए.
34 The men of mind, will say to me, yea any wise man hearkening unto me: —
“वे, जो बुद्धिमान हैं, तथा वे, जो ज्ञानी हैं, मेरी सुनेंगे और मुझसे कहेंगे,
35 Job, without knowledge, doth speak, and, his words, are not with discretion.
‘अय्योब की बात बिना ज्ञान की होती है; उनके कथनों में कोई विद्वत्ता नहीं है.’
36 Would that Job might be tested to the uttermost, for replying with the men of iniquity:
महोदय अय्योब को बड़ी ही सूक्ष्मता-पूर्वक परखा जाए, क्योंकि उनके उत्तरों में दुष्टता पाई जाती है!
37 For he addeth—unto his sin—rebellion, In our midst, he clappeth his hands, and multiplieth his sayings against GOD.
वह अपने पाप पर विद्रोह का योग देते हैं; वह हमारे ही मध्य रहते हुए उपहास में ताली बजाते तथा परमेश्वर की निंदा पर निंदा करते जाते हैं.”
