Job 29
1 And Job again took up his measure, and said,
১ইয়োব আবার কথা বলা শুরু করলেন এবং বললেন,
2 Oh that it were with me as in the months of old, as in the days, when, GOD, used to watch over me;
২আহা, যেমন আমি গত মাসগুলোতে ছিলাম সেই দিন গুলোর মত যখন ঈশ্বর আমার নজর রাখতেন,
3 When his lamp shone over my head, by whose light, I could go through darkness;
৩যখন তাঁর প্রদীপ আমার মাথা আলো করত এবং যখন আমি তাঁর আলোয় অন্ধকারের মধ্যে দিয়ে হাঁটতাম।
4 As I was, in the days of my prime, when, the intimacy of GOD, was over my tent;
৪আহা, আমি যেমন আমার পূর্ণ অবস্থার দিনের ছিলাম, যখন ঈশ্বরের বন্ধুত্ব আমার তাঁবুতে ছিল।
5 While yet the Almighty was with me, round about me, were my young men;
৫যখন সর্বশক্তিমান তখনও আমার সঙ্গে ছিলেন এবং আমার সন্তানেরা আমার চারিদিকে ছিল।
6 When my steps were bathed in milk, and, the rock, poured out beside me, rivulets of oil:
৬যখন আমার পায়ের চিহ্ন দুধ দিয়ে ধোয়া হত এবং পাথর আমার জন্য তেলের ঝরনা বইয়ে দিত!
7 When I went out to the gate unto the city, in the open place, made ready my seat,
৭যখন আমি শহরের দরজায় গেলাম, যখন আমি শহরের চকে আমার জায়গায় বসলাম,
8 Young men saw me, and hid themselves, and, the aged, arose—they stood;
৮যুবকেরা আমায় দেখল এবং তারা সম্মানে আমার থেকে দূরত্ব বজায় রাখত এবং বৃদ্ধেরা আমার জন্য উঠে দাঁড়াত।
9 Rulers, restrained speech, and, a hand, laid they on their mouth;
৯যখন আমি আসতাম অধিকারীরা কথা বলা থেকে বিরত থাকত; তারা তাদের হাত মুখের ওপর রাখত।
10 The voice of nobles, was hushed, and their tongue to their palate, did cleave;
১০অভিজাত লোকেদের আওয়াজ নীরব থাকত এবং তাদের জিভ তাদের মুখের তালুতে লেগে থাকত।
11 When, the ear, heard, then it pronounced me happy, When, the eye, saw, then it bare me witness;
১১যখন তারা কানে শুনত আমার প্রশংসা করত, আর যখন চোখে দেখত তখন পছন্দ করত।
12 Because I used to deliver the oppressed who was crying out for aid, the fatherless also, and him that had no helper;
১২কারণ আমি দরিদ্র লোকদের উদ্ধার করতাম যারা কষ্টে চিত্কার করত এবং যার কেউ নেই সেই পিতৃহীনকেও সাহায্য করতাম।
13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish, upon me was wont to descend, and, the heart of the widow, caused I to sing for joy;
১৩যে ধ্বংস হতে চলেছে তার আর্শীবাদ আমার কাছে আসত; আমি বিধবাদের হৃদয়ে আনন্দ গান করাতাম।
14 Righteousness, I put on, and it clothed me, Like a robe and turban, was my, justice;
১৪আমি ধার্ম্মিকতা পরতাম এবং এটা আমায় ঢাকত; আমার ন্যায়বিচার কাপড়ের মত ছিল এবং একটা পাগড়ির মত ছিল।
15 Eyes, became I to the, blind, and, feet to the lame, was, I!
১৫আমি অন্ধের চোখ ছিলাম; আমি খোঁড়ার পা ছিলাম।
16 A father, was, I, to the needy, and, as for the cause which I knew not, I used to search it out;
১৬আমি দরিদ্রদের পিতা ছিলাম; আমি এমনকি তাদের অভিযোগও পরীক্ষা করে দেখতাম যাকে আমি চিনি না।
17 And I shivered the fangs of the perverse, —and, out of his teeth, I tare the prey.
১৭আমি অধার্মিকদের চোয়াল ভাঙ্গতাম; আমি তার দাঁতের মধ্যে থেকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তকে বার করে নিয়ে আসতাম।
18 Then said I, Like a stem, shall I grow old, yea, as the sand, shall I multiply days:
১৮তখন আমি বলতাম, আমি আমার বাসায় মরব; আমি আমার দিন বালির মত বৃদ্ধি করব।
19 My root, is laid open to the waters, and, the dew, shall lodge for the night in my boughs;
১৯আমার মূল জলের দিকে ছড়িয়েছে এবং সারা রাত আমার শাখায় শিশির থাকে।
20 Mine honour, shall be young again with me, and, my bow, in my hand, be renewed.
২০আমার গৌরব সবদিন আমাতে তাজা থাকে এবং আমার ধনুকের শক্তি সবদিন নতুন থাকে আমার হাতে।
21 To me, men hearkened, and waited, and kept silence for my counsel;
২১লোকেরা আমার কথা শুনত; তারা আমার জন্য অপেক্ষা করত; তারা নিরব থাকত আমার পরামর্শ শোনার জন্য।
22 After I had spoken, they spake not again, and, upon them, used my speech to drop;
২২আমার কথা বলার পরে, তারা আর কথা বলত না; আমার কথা তাদের ওপর জলের ফোঁটার মত পড়ত।
23 And they waited, as for rain, for me, and, their mouths, they opened wide for the spring-rain;
২৩তারা যেমন বৃষ্টির জন্য, তেমনি আমার জন্যও সবদিন অপেক্ষা করত; শেষের বর্ষার মত তারা আমার কথা পান করত।
24 I laughed at them—they lost confidence, and, the light of my countenance, they suffered not to fail;
২৪আমি তাদের ওপর হাঁসতাম যখন তারা এটা আশা করত না; তারা আমার মুখের আলো প্রত্যাখান করত না।
25 I chose out their way, and sat chief, —and abode, as king, in an army, as one who, to mourners, giveth comfort.
২৫আমি তাদের পথ ঠিক করতাম এবং তাদের প্রধানের মত বসতাম; আমি রাজার মত বাঁচতাম তার সৈন্যদলে, ঠিক একজন ব্যক্তির মত যে শোক সভায় শোকার্তদের সান্ত্বনা দেয়।
