< Job 22 >
1 Then responded Eliphaz the Temanite, and said: —
Ket simmungbat ni Elipas a Temanita ket kinunana,
2 Unto GOD, can a man act as friend? Surely a discreet man befriendeth himself!
“Adda kadi serserbi ti tao iti Dios? Adda kadi serserbi ti nasarib a tao kenkuana?
3 Is it a pleasure to the Almighty, that thou shouldst be righteous? or any profit, that thou shouldst be blameless in thy ways?
Pakaragsakan kadi ti Mannakabalin-amin no nalintegka? Adda kadi ti magun-odna no aramidem dagiti wagasmo nga awan pakababalawanna?
4 Is it, for thy reverence, that he will accuse thee? will enter with thee into judgment?
Gapu kadi iti panagraemmo kenkuana a tubtubngarennaka ken uk-ukomennaka?
5 Is not, thy wickedness, great? and, without end, [are not] thine iniquities?
Saan kadi a nakaro ti kinadangkesmo? Awan kadi ti pagpatinggaan dagiti kinadakesmo?
6 Surely then hast been wont to put thy brother in pledge, for nothing, and, the garments of the ill-clad, hast thou stripped off:
Ta pinilitmo nga innala ti pammatalged manipud iti kabsatmo nga awan gapgapuna; linabusam ti maysa a lamo-lamo a tao kadagiti pagan-anayna.
7 No water—to the weary, hast thou given to drink, and, from the hungry, thou hast withheld bread:
Saanka a nangted iti danum nga inumen dagiti nabannog a tattao; inyimutmo ti tinapay kadagiti mabisin a tattao.
8 A man of might, to him, pertaineth the land, and, the favorite, dwelleth therein:
uray no sika, a nabileg a tao, tinagikuam ti daga, uray no sika, mararaem a tao, nagnaedka iti daytoy.
9 Widows, thou hast sent away empty, and, the arms of the fatherless, thou dost crush.
Pinapanawmo dagiti balo nga awanan; natukkol dagiti takkiag dagiti ulila.
10 For this cause, round about thee, are snares, and a dread startleth thee suddenly;
Ngarud, adda dagiti silo iti amin nga aglawlawmo, ken rirriribukennaka ti kellaat a panagbuteng.
11 Or darkness—thou canst not see, and, a flood of waters, covereth thee.
Adda ti kinasipnget, tapno saanka a makakita; liplipusennaka ti aglaplapusanan a danum.
12 Is not, GOD, [in] the height of the heavens? Behold, then, the head of the stars, that they are high.
Saan kadi nga adda ti Dios kadagiti kinangato ti langit? Kitaem ti kinangato dagiti bituen, anian a nagngatoda!
13 Wilt thou say then, What doth GOD know? Out through a thick cloud, can he judge?
Ibagbagam, 'Ania ti ammo ti Dios? Makaukom kadi isuna iti nakaro a kinasipnget?
14 Dark clouds, are a veil to him, and he cannot see, or, the vault of the heavens, doth he walk?
Dagiti napuskol nga ulep ket maysa a manglinglinged kenkuana, isu a saannatayo a makitkita; magmagna isuna iti dakkel a silid ti langit.'
15 The path of the ancient time, wilt thou mark, which the men of iniquity trod?
Agtultuloyka kadi iti daan a dalan a nagnaan dagiti nadangkes a tattao -
16 Who were snatched away before the time, and, a stream, washed away their foundation?
dagiti narabsut sakbay pay ti tiempoda, dagiti naiyanud dagiti pundasionda a kas iti maysa a karayan,
17 Who had been saying unto GOD, Depart from us! and—What can the Almighty do for himself?
dagiti nangibaga iti Dios, 'Adaywannakami'; dagiti nangibaga, 'Ania ti maaramidan ti Mannakabalin-amin kadakami?'
18 Yet, he, had filled their houses with good! The counsel of the lawless, then, is far from me:
Nupay kasta, pinunnona dagiti babbalayda kadagiti naimbag a banbanag; adayo kaniak dagiti panggep dagiti nadangkes a tattao.
19 The righteous shall see and rejoice, and, the innocent, shall laugh them to scorn:
Makita dagiti nalinteg a tattao ti gasatda ket maragsakanda; katkatawaan ida dagiti awan basolna a tattao a mangum-umsi.
20 If our assailants do not vanish, then, their abundance, a fire consumeth!
Kunada, '“Awan dua-dua a maputed dagiti tumakder a maibusor kadatayo; inuram ti apuy dagiti sanikuada.'
21 Shew thyself to be one with him—I pray thee—and prosper, thereby, shall there come on thee blessing.
Ita, makianamongka iti Dios ken makikapiaka kenkuana; iti kasta a wagas, umayto kenka ti kinaimbag.
22 Accept, I beseech thee, from his mouth—instruction, —and lay up his sayings in thy heart.
Agpakpakaasiak kenka, awatem ti pagannurotan manipud iti ngiwatna; salimetmetam dagiti sasaona dita pusom.
23 If thou return unto the Almighty and submit thyself, if thou far remove perversity from thy tent,
No agsublika iti Mannakabalin-amin, mapapigsaka, no iyadayom ti kinakillo kadagiti toldam.
24 Then lay up, in the dust, precious ore, and, among the stones of the torrent-beds, fine gold:
Ikabilmo dagiti gamengmo iti tapok, ti balitok ti Ophir kadagiti batbato dagiti waig,
25 So shall, the Almighty, become, thy precious ores, yea glittering silver unto thee!
ket ti Mannakabalin-amin ti agbalinto a gamengmo, ti napateg a pirak kenka.
26 For, then, in the Almighty, shalt thou take exquisite delight, and shalt lift up—unto GOD—thy face;
Ta kalpasanna agragsakanto iti Mannakabalin-amin; itangadmonto ti rupam iti Dios.
27 Thou shalt make entreaty unto him, and he will hear thee, and, thy vows, shalt thou pay;
Agkararagkanto kenkuana, ket denggennakanto; aramidemto dagiti sapatam kenkuana.
28 And thou shalt decree a purpose, and it shall be fulfilled unto thee, and, upon thy ways, shall have shone a light;
Mangikeddengkanto met iti aniaman a banag, ket mapasingkedanto kenka; agraniagto ti silaw kadagiti dalanmo.
29 When men cast themselves down, then thou shalt say: Up! And, him that is of downcast eyes, shall he save;
Ipababa ti Dios ti napalangguad a tao, ken isalakanna dagiti nakadumog.
30 He shall deliver the innocent, and thou shalt escape by the pureness of thy hands.
Ispalenna ti tao nga awan basolna; maispalkanto babaen iti kinadalus dagiti imam.”
