< Job 17 >

1 My spirit, is broken, My days, are extinguished, Graves, are left me.
“Ẹ̀mí mi bàjẹ́, ọjọ́ mi ni a ti gé kúrú, isà òkú dúró dè mí.
2 Verily there are mockers, with me! And, on their insults, mine eye doth rest.
Nítòótọ́ àwọn ẹlẹ́yà wà lọ́dọ̀ mi, ojú mi sì tẹ̀mọ́ ìmúnibínú wọn.
3 Appoint it, I pray thee—be thou surety for me with thyself, Who is there that, on my side, can pledge himself?
“Fi fún mi Olúwa, ìlérí tí ìwọ fẹ́; ta ni yóò le ṣe ààbò fún mi?
4 For, their heart, hast thou kept back from understanding, On this account, thou wilt not exalt them.
Nítorí pé ìwọ ti sé wọ́n láyà kúrò nínú òye; nítorí náà ìwọ kì yóò gbé wọn lékè.
5 He that, for a share, denounceth friends, even, the eyes of his children, shall be dim.
Ẹni tí ó sọ ọ̀rọ̀ ẹ̀tàn dídún fún àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀ fún èrè, òun ni ojú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ yóò mú òfo.
6 But he hath set me, as the byword of peoples, And, one to be spit on in the face, do I become.
“Ọlọ́run ti sọ mi di ẹni òwe fún àwọn ènìyàn; níwájú wọn ni mo dàbí ẹni ìtutọ́ sí ní ojú.
7 Therefore hath mine eye become dim from vexation, and, my members, are like a shadow, all of them.
Ojú mí ṣú bàìbàì nítorí ìbìnújẹ́, gbogbo ẹ̀yà ara mi sì dàbí òjìji.
8 Upright men shall be astounded over this, and, the innocent, against the impious, shall rouse themselves.
Àwọn olódodo yóò yanu sí èyí, ẹni aláìṣẹ̀ sì bínú sí àwọn àgàbàgebè.
9 That the righteous may hold on his way, and, the clean of hands, increase in strength.
Olódodo pẹ̀lú yóò di ọ̀nà rẹ̀ mú, àti ọlọ́wọ́ mímọ́ yóò máa lera síwájú.
10 But indeed, as for them all, will ye bethink yourselves and enter into it, I pray you? Or shall I not find, among you, one who is wise?
“Ṣùgbọ́n bí ó ṣe ti gbogbo yín, ẹ yípadà, kí ẹ si tún padà nísinsin yìí; èmi kò le rí ọlọ́gbọ́n kan nínú yín.
11 My days, are past, my purposes, are broken off, the possessions of my heart!
Ọjọ́ tí èmi ti kọjá, ìrò mi ti fà yá, àní ìrò ọkàn mi.
12 Night for day, they appoint, Light, is near, by reason of darkness!
Àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí ń ṣọ́ òru di ọ̀sán; wọ́n ní, ìmọ́lẹ̀ súnmọ́ ibi tí òkùnkùn dé.
13 If I wait for hades as my house, in darkness, have spread out my couch; (Sheol h7585)
Bí mo tilẹ̀ ní ìrètí, ipò òku ní ilé mi; mo ti tẹ́ ibùsùn mi sínú òkùnkùn. (Sheol h7585)
14 To corruption, have exclaimed, My father, thou! My mother! and My sister! to the worm.
Èmi ti wí fún ìdíbàjẹ́ pé, ìwọ ni baba mi, àti fún kòkòrò pé, ìwọ ni ìyá mi àti arábìnrin mi,
15 Where then would be my hope? And, as for my blessedness, who should see it!
ìrètí mi ha dà nísinsin yìí? Bí ó ṣe ti ìrètí mi ni, ta ni yóò rí i?
16 With me to hades, would they go down, If, wholly—into the dust, is the descent! (Sheol h7585)
Yóò sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sínú ipò òkú, nígbà tí a jùmọ̀ sinmi pọ̀ nínú erùpẹ̀ ilẹ̀?” (Sheol h7585)
