Job 16
1 Then responded Job, and said: —
੧ਤਦ ਅੱਯੂਬ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
2 I have heard many such things, Wearisome comforters, are ye all!
੨“ਮੈਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਦਾਇਕ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ!
3 Is there to be an end to windy words? Or what so strongly exciteth thee, that thou must respond?
੩ਕੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਣਗੀਆਂ, ਜਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਖਿਝ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
4 I also, like you, could speak, —If your soul were in the place of my soul, I could string together words against you, and could therewith shake over you my head.
੪ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬੋਲ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਘੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਿਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ!
5 I could make you determined, by my mouth, and then my lip-solace should restrain you.
੫ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ।
6 Though I do speak, unassuaged is my stinging pain, —And, if I forbear, of what am I relieved?
੬“ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
7 But, now, hath he wearied me, thou hast destroyed all my family;
੭ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਥਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਰ-ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
8 And, having captured me, it hath served, as a witness; and so my wasting away hath risen up against me, in my face, it answereth.
੮ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਘੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਹੈ! ਮੇਰੀ ਦੁਰਬਲਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਸਾਖੀ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
9 His anger, hath torn and persecuted me, He hath gnashed upon me with his teeth, Mine adversary, hath sharpened his eyes for me.
੯ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੰਦ ਪੀਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
10 They have gaped upon me with their mouth, With reproach, have they smitten my cheek, Together, against me, have they closed their ranks.
੧੦ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਹਨ, ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਪੇੜਾਂ ਮਾਰੀਆਂ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
11 GOD doth abandon me to him that is perverse, and, into the hands of the lawless, he throweth me headlong.
੧੧ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੁਧਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
12 At ease, was I when he shattered me, Yea he seized me by my neck, and dashed me in pieces, then set me up for himself as a mark:
੧੨ਮੈਂ ਸੁਖੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੂਰ-ਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਧੌਣ ਤੋਂ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਟਕਾ-ਪਟਕਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ, ਉਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਲਈ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ!
13 His archers came round against me, He clave asunder my reins, and spared not, He poured out, on the earth, my gall:
੧੩ਉਹ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ-ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਲੇ ਦੁਆਲਿਓਂ ਘੇਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੀਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਡੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ!
14 He made a breach in me, breach upon breach, He ran upon me, like a mighty man.
੧੪ਉਹ ਤੇੜਾਂ ਤੇ ਤੇੜਾਂ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ!
15 Sackcloth, sewed I on my skin, and rolled—in the dust—my horn:
੧੫“ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਮੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੱਪੜ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਉਂ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
16 My face, is reddened from weeping, and, upon mine eyelashes, is the death-shade: —
੧੬ਮੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਰੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਪਲਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਾਯਾ ਹੈ,
17 Though no violence was in my hands, and, my prayer, was pure.
੧੭ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ।
18 O earth! do not cover my blood, and let there be no place for mine outcry.
੧੮“ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਲਹੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਲੁਕਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਾ ਰੁਕੇ!
19 Even now, lo! in the heavens, is my witness,
੧੯ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਵੇਖੋ, ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਖੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਗਵਾਹ ਉੱਚਿਆਈਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ।
20 And, he that voucheth for me is on high. My friends are, they who scorn me, Unto GOD, hath mine eye shed tears: —
੨੦ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਉਡਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੋਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
21 That one might plead, for a man, with GOD, —Even a son of man, for his friend!
੨੧ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਦ-ਵਿਵਾਦ ਕਰੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਦਮ ਵੰਸ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਲਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
22 When, a few years, come, then, by a path by which I shall not return, shall I depart.
੨੨“ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੀਤਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਫੇਰ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੜਾਂਗਾ।”
