Job 16
1 Then responded Job, and said: —
૧ત્યારે અયૂબે ઉત્તર આપ્યો અને કહ્યું કે,
2 I have heard many such things, Wearisome comforters, are ye all!
૨“મેં એવી ઘણી વાતો સાંભળી છે; તમે સર્વ કંટાળો ઊપજે એવું આશ્વાસન આપનારા છો.
3 Is there to be an end to windy words? Or what so strongly exciteth thee, that thou must respond?
૩શું તમારા નકામા શબ્દોનો અંત નથી? તમારી સાથે શું ખોટું થયું છે કે તમે આ પ્રમાણે દલીલો કરો છો.
4 I also, like you, could speak, —If your soul were in the place of my soul, I could string together words against you, and could therewith shake over you my head.
૪તમારી જેમ હું પણ બોલી શકું છું; જો તમારો આત્મા મારા આત્માની જગ્યાએ હોત, તો હું તમારી સામે ડાહી વાતો કરત, અને મેં તમારી સામે માથું હલાવ્યું હોત.
5 I could make you determined, by my mouth, and then my lip-solace should restrain you.
૫અરે, મારા મુખથી હું તમને હિંમત આપી શક્યો હોત! મારા હોઠનો દિલાસો તમને આશ્વાસન આપત!
6 Though I do speak, unassuaged is my stinging pain, —And, if I forbear, of what am I relieved?
૬જો કે હું બોલું તો પણ મારું દુ: ખ દૂર થવાનું નથી; અને જો હું ચૂપ રહું તો મને કેવી રીતે આરામ મળે?
7 But, now, hath he wearied me, thou hast destroyed all my family;
૭પણ હવે, હે ઈશ્વર, તમે મારી શક્તિ લઈ લીધી છે; તમે મારા આખા કુટુંબનો નાશ કર્યો છે.
8 And, having captured me, it hath served, as a witness; and so my wasting away hath risen up against me, in my face, it answereth.
૮તમે મને કરમાવી નાખ્યો છે, તે જ મારી વિરુદ્ધ સાક્ષી છે; અને મારા શરીરની દુર્બળતા મારી વિરુદ્ધ ઊઠીને સાક્ષી પૂરે છે.
9 His anger, hath torn and persecuted me, He hath gnashed upon me with his teeth, Mine adversary, hath sharpened his eyes for me.
૯ઈશ્વરે તેમના કોપથી મને ચીરી નાખ્યો છે અને મને સતાવ્યો છે; તેમણે મારી સામે તેમના દાંત પીસ્યા છે. મારા દુશ્મનોએ પોતાની આંખો મારી સામે કરડી કરી છે.
10 They have gaped upon me with their mouth, With reproach, have they smitten my cheek, Together, against me, have they closed their ranks.
૧૦લોકોએ મારી વિરુદ્ધ પોતાનું મુખ પહોળું કર્યું છે. તેઓ મારા મોં પર તમાચો મારે છે; તેઓ મારી વિરુદ્ધ એકત્ર થાય છે.
11 GOD doth abandon me to him that is perverse, and, into the hands of the lawless, he throweth me headlong.
૧૧ઈશ્વર મને અધર્મીઓને સોંપી દે છે; અને મને દુર્જનોના હાથમાં ફેંકી દે છે.
12 At ease, was I when he shattered me, Yea he seized me by my neck, and dashed me in pieces, then set me up for himself as a mark:
૧૨હું સુખચેનમાં હતો, ત્યારે તેમણે મને કચડી નાખ્યો; હા, તેમણે મને ગરદનથી પકડ્યો અને મારા ટુકડેટટુકડા કરી નાખ્યા. તેમણે મારા પર નિશાન તાકી રાખ્યું છે.
13 His archers came round against me, He clave asunder my reins, and spared not, He poured out, on the earth, my gall:
૧૩તેમના ધનુર્ધારીઓએ મને ચારેબાજુથી ઘેરી લીધો છે; તે મારું હૃદય ફાડી નાખે છે અને તે દયા રાખતા નથી; તે મારું પિત્ત જમીન પર ઢોળે છે.
14 He made a breach in me, breach upon breach, He ran upon me, like a mighty man.
૧૪તે વારંવાર મને કચડી નાખે છે; તે યોદ્ધાની જેમ મારા પર તૂટી પડે છે.
15 Sackcloth, sewed I on my skin, and rolled—in the dust—my horn:
૧૫મેં શોકના વસ્ત્રો પહેર્યા છે, અને મારું શિંગ ધૂળમાં રગદોળ્યું છે.
16 My face, is reddened from weeping, and, upon mine eyelashes, is the death-shade: —
૧૬રુદન કરીને મારું મોં લાલ થઈ ગયું છે. મારાં પોપચાં પર મોતની છાયા છવાયેલી છે.
17 Though no violence was in my hands, and, my prayer, was pure.
૧૭જો કે મારા હાથથી કંઈ અન્યાય થયો નથી, અને મારી પ્રાર્થના શુદ્ધ છે.
18 O earth! do not cover my blood, and let there be no place for mine outcry.
૧૮હે પૃથ્વી, મારા લોહીને તું ઢાંકી દઈશ નહિ. મારા અવાજને તું દાટી દઈશ નહિ.
19 Even now, lo! in the heavens, is my witness,
૧૯જુઓ, હમણાં જ, મારો સાક્ષી આકાશમાં છે મારો શાહેદ ઉચ્ચસ્થાને છે.
20 And, he that voucheth for me is on high. My friends are, they who scorn me, Unto GOD, hath mine eye shed tears: —
૨૦મારા મિત્રો મારો તિરસ્કાર કરે છે, પણ મારી આંખ ઈશ્વર આગળ આંસુ રેડે છે.
21 That one might plead, for a man, with GOD, —Even a son of man, for his friend!
૨૧એ સારુ કે ઈશ્વર માણસનાં વાજબી હકને, તથા પોતાના પડોશી સાથે મનુષ્યના હકને જાળવી રાખે!
22 When, a few years, come, then, by a path by which I shall not return, shall I depart.
૨૨કેમ કે થોડાં વર્ષો પૂરાં થશે, ત્યારે જ્યાંથી હું પાછો આવી શકું નહિ તે માર્ગે હું જઈશ.
