< Job 15 >

1 Then responded Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
Pamenepo Elifazi wa ku Temani anayankha kuti,
2 Should, a wise man, answer unreal knowledge? or fill, with the east wind, his inner man?
“Kodi munthu wanzeru angayankhe ndi mawu achabechabe otere, kapena angakhutitse mimba yake ndi mphepo yotentha yochokera kummawa?
3 Disputing with discourse that doth no good, or with speech, wherein is no profit?
Kodi angathe kutsutsa ndi mawu opanda pake, kapena kuyankhula mawu opanda phindu?
4 But, thou, wouldst take away reverence, and wouldst attain unto meditation before GOD.
Koma iwe ukuchepetsa zoopa Mulungu ndipo ukutchinga zodzikhuthulira kwa Mulungu.
5 For thine own mouth would teach thine iniquity, and thou wouldst choose the tongue of the crafty.
Tchimo lako ndiye likuyankhulitsa pakamwa pakopo; ndipo watengera mayankhulidwe a atambwali.
6 Thine own mouth shall condemn thee, and, not I, And, thine own lips, shall testify against thee.
Pakamwa pakopo ndiye pakukutsutsa osati pakamwa panga; milomo yakoyo ikukutsutsa.
7 The first of mankind, wast thou born? Or, before the hills, wast thou brought forth?
“Kodi ndiwe munthu woyamba kubadwa? Kodi unalengedwa mapiri asanalengedwe?
8 In the secret council of GOD, hast thou been wont to hearken? Or canst thou attain for thyself unto wisdom?
Kodi unali mʼgulu la alangizi a Mulungu? Kodi ukudziyesa wanzeru ndiwe wekha?
9 What knowest thou, that we know not? [What] understandest thou, and the same, is not with us?
Kodi iwe umadziwa chiyani chimene ife sitichidziwa? Kodi iwe uli ndi chidziwitso chanji chimene ife tilibe?
10 Both hoary and venerable, are among us, one mightier than thy father in days!
Anthu a imvi ndi okalamba ali mbali yathu, anthu amvulazakale kupambana abambo ako.
11 Too small for thee, are the consolations of GOD? or a word spoken gently with thee?
Kodi mawu otonthoza mtima ochokera kwa Mulungu sakukukwanira, mawu oyankhula mofatsawa kwa iwe?
12 How doth thine own heart carry thee away, and how thine eyes do roll!
Chifukwa chiyani ukupsa mtima, ndipo chifukwa chiyani ukutuzula maso ako,
13 For thy spirit, replieth against GOD, and thou bringest forth—out of thy mouth—words!
moti ukupsera mtima Mulungu ndi kuyankhula mawu otero pakamwa pako?
14 What is a mortal, that he should be pure? or that righteous should be one born of a woman?
“Kodi munthu nʼchiyani kuti nʼkukhala woyera mtima kapena wobadwa mwa amayi nʼchiyani kuti nʼkukhala wolungama mtima?
15 Lo! in his holy ones, he putteth not confidence, and, the heavens, are not pure in his eyes:
Ngati Mulungu sakhulupirira ngakhale angelo ake, ngakhale zakumwamba sizoyera pamaso pake,
16 How much less when one is detested and corrupt, a man who drinketh in—like water—perversity.
nanga kuli bwanji munthu amene ndi wonyansa ndi wa njira zokhotakhota, amene kuchita zoyipa kuli ngati kumwa madzi.
17 I will tell thee—hear me, Since this I have seen, I must needs declare it.
“Mvetsera kwa ine ndipo ndidzakufotokozera; ndilole ndikuwuze zimene ndaziona,
18 Which, wise men, tell, and deny not [that which is] from their fathers.
zimene anandiphunzitsa anthu anzeru, sanandibisire kalikonse kamene anamva kuchokera kwa makolo awo.
19 To them alone, was the earth given, and no alien passed through their midst:
(Ndi kwa iwowa kumene dziko lino linaperekedwa pamene panalibe mlendo wokhala pakati pawo).
20 All the days of the lawless man, he, doth writhe with pain, and, the number of years, is hidden from the tyrant;
Munthu woyipa amavutika ndi masautso masiku onse a moyo wake, munthu wankhanza adzavutika zaka zake zonse.
21 A noise of dreadful things, is in his ears, In prosperity, the destroyer cometh upon him;
Amamva mawu owopsa mʼmakutu mwake, pamene zonse zikuoneka ngati zili bwino, anthu achifwamba amamuthira nkhondo.
22 He hath no confidence to come back out of darkness, he, being destined to the power oft the sword;
Iye sakhulupirira kuti angathe kupulumuka ku mdima wa imfa; iyeyo ndi woyenera kuphedwa.
23 A wanderer, he, for bread, [saying] Where [is it]? He knoweth that, prepared by his own hand, is the day of darkness;
Amangoyendayenda pali ponse kunka nafuna chakudya; amadziwa kuti tsiku la mdima lili pafupi.
24 Distress and anguish shall startle him, It shall overpower him, like a king ready for the onset:
Masautso ndi nthumanzi zimamuchititsa mantha kwambiri; zimamugonjetsa iye monga imachitira mfumu yokonzekera kukathira nkhondo,
25 Because he had stretched out—against GOD—his hand, and, against the Almighty, had been wont to behave himself proudly;
chifukwa iye amatambasula dzanja lake kuyambana ndi Mulungu ndipo amadzitama yekha polimbana ndi Wamphamvuzonse.
26 He used to run against him with uplifted neck, with the stout bosses of his bucklers;
Amapita mwa mwano kukalimbana naye atanyamula chishango chochindikala ndi cholimba.
27 For he had covered his face with his fatness, and had gathered a superabundance on his loins;
“Ngakhale nkhope yake ndi yonenepa ndipo mʼchiwuno mwake muli mnofu wambiri,
28 And had inhabited demolished cities, houses, wherein men would not dwell, that were destined to become heaps.
munthuyo adzakhala mʼmizinda yowonongeka ndi mʼnyumba zosayenera kukhalamo anthu, nyumba zimene zikugwa ndi kuwonongeka.
29 He shall not be rich, nor shall his substance continue, neither shall their shadow stretch along on the earth;
Iye sadzalemeranso ndipo chuma chake sichidzakhalitsa, ngakhale minda yake sidzabala zipatso pa dziko lapansi.
30 He shall not depart out of darkness, his young branch, shall the flame dry up, and he shall depart, by the breath of his own mouth!
Iyeyo sadzapulumuka mu mdimamo; lawi lamoto lidzawumitsa nthambi zake, ndipo mpweya wochokera mʼkamwa mwa Mulungu udzamusesa.
31 Let no one trust in him that—by vanity—is deceived, for, vanity, shall be his recompense;
Asadzinyenge yekha podalira zinthu zachabechabe, pakuti pa mapeto pake sadzaphulapo kanthu.
32 Before his day, shall it be accomplished, with, his palm-top, not covered with leaves;
Iye adzalandira malipiro ake nthawi yake isanakwane, ndipo nthambi zake sizidzaphukanso.
33 He shall wrong—like a vine—his sour grapes, and shall cast off—as an olive-tree—his blossom.
Iye adzakhala ngati mtengo wamphesa wopululidwa zipatso zake zisanapse, adzakhala ngati mtengo wa olivi umene wayoyola maluwa ake.
34 For, the family of the impious, is unfruitful, and, a fire, hath devoured the tents of bribery;
Pakuti anthu osapembedza Mulungu adzakhala osabala ndipo moto udzapsereza nyumba za onse okonda ziphuphu.
35 Conceiving mischief, and bringing forth iniquity, yea, their inmost soul, prepareth deceit.
Iwo amalingalira zaupandu ndipo amachita zoyipa; mtima wawo umakonzekera zachinyengo.”
