< Jeremiah 6 >

1 Take your goods into safety, ye sons of Benjamin out of the midst of Jerusalem, And in Tekoa, blow ye a horn, And on Beth-haccherem, raise a fire-signal, —For calamity, hath looked out from the North, Even a great destruction.
“Thawani, inu anthu a ku Benjamini! Tulukani mu Yerusalemu! Lizani lipenga ku Tekowa! Kwezani mbendera ku Beti-Hakeremu! Pakuti tsoka lalikulu likubwera kuchokera kumpoto, ndipo chiwonongekocho nʼchachikulu.
2 To a comely and delicate woman, have I likened the daughter of Zion:
Kodi mzinda wa Ziyoni suli ngati msipu wokongola kwambiri, kumene abusa amafikako ndi ziweto zawo?
3 Against her, shall come shepherds with their flocks; They have pitched against her their tents, round about, They tend their flocks every one near at hand.
Abusa ndi nkhosa zawo adzabwera kudzalimbana nawo; adzamanga matenti awo mowuzinga, ndipo aliyense adzakhazika anthu ake pamalo pake.”
4 Hallow ye against her a war, Arise! and let us go up in broad noon. Woe to us, for the day, hath turned, for the shadows of evening, stretch along.
Adzanena kuti, “Konzekani kuwuthira nkhondo mzindawo! Nyamukani, kuti tiwuthire nkhondo mzindawu masana ano. Koma tili ndi tsoka, dzuwa lapendeka, ndipo zithunzithunzi za kumadzulo zikunka zitalika.
5 Arise! and let us go up in the night, And let us destroy her palaces.
Tsono nyamukani kuti tiwuthire nkhondo mzindawu usiku uno ndi kuwononga malinga ake!”
6 For, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Cut ye down timber, And cast up, against Jerusalem a mound, —That, is the city to be punished! There is, nothing, but oppression in her midst;
Yehova Wamphamvuzonse akuti, “Dulani mitengo ndipo mumange mitumbira yankhondo kulimbana ndi Yerusalemu. Mzinda umenewu uyenera kulangidwa; wadzaza ndi kuponderezana.
7 Like the casting forth by a well of its waters, So, hath she cast forth her wickedness, —Violence and destruction, are heard in her, Before my face, continually, are suffering and smiting.
Monga momwe chitsime chimatulutsira madzi ndi mmenenso Yerusalemu amatulutsira zoyipa zake. Chiwawa ndi chiwonongeko ndi zomwe zimamveka mu mzindamo; nthenda yake ndi mabala ake ndimaziona nthawi zonse.
8 Receive thou correction O Jerusalem, Lest my soul be torn from thee, —Lest I make thee A desolation, A land not habitable.
Iwe Yerusalemu, tengapo phunziro, kuopa kuti chikondi changa pa iwe chingakuchokere ndi kusandutsa dziko lako kukhala bwinja mopanda munthu wokhalamo.”
9 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean as a vine the remnant of Israel—Turn back thy hand, as a grape gatherer over the tendrils.
Yehova Wamphamvuzonse anandiwuza kuti, “Adani adzawakunkha ndithu anthu otsala a Israeli, monga momwe amachitira populula mphesa. Tsono iwe yesetsa kupulumutsa amene ungathe monga mmene amachitira munthu wokolola mphesa.”
10 Unto whom, can I speak—and bear witness, that they may hear? Lo! uncircumcised, is their ear, that they cannot attend, —Lo! the word of Yahweh, hath become to them a reproach, they take no delight therein.
Kodi ndiyankhule ndi yani ndi kumuchenjeza? Ndinene mawu ochenjeza kwa yani kuti amve? Makutu awo ndi otsekeka kotero kuti sangathe kumva. Mawu a Yehova ndi onyansa kwa iwo; sasangalatsidwa nawo.
11 So then, with the indignation of Yahweh, am I full, I am too weary to hold it in, [I am constrained] to pour it out, upon the boy in the street, and upon the circle of young men, together, —For, even husband with wife, will be captured, The elder with him who is full of days;
Koma ine ndadzazidwa ndi mkwiyo wa Yehova, ndipo ndatopa ndi kusunga mkwiyo wa Yehova. Yehova anandiwuza kuti, “Tsono ndidzawutulutsira mkwiyo umenewu pa ana oyenda mʼmisewu ndi pa achinyamata amene asonkhana pamodzi; pakutinso mwamuna ndi mkazi wake adzatengedwa, pamodzi ndi okalamba amene ali ndi zaka zochuluka.
12 And their houses shall be turned over to others, Fields and wives together, —For I will stretch out my hand against the inhabitants of the land, Declareth Yahweh.
Nyumba zawo adzazipereka kwa ena, pamodzi ndi minda yawo ndi akazi awo. Ndidzatambasula dzanja langa kukantha anthu okhala mʼdzikomo,” akutero Yehova.
13 For, from the least of them, even unto the greatest of them, Every one, graspeth with greed, —And from the prophet even unto the priest, Every one, dealeth, falsely;
“Kuyambira wamngʼono mpaka wamkulu, onse ali ndi dyera lofuna kupeza phindu mwa kuba; aneneri pamodzi ndi ansembe omwe, onse amachita zachinyengo.
14 And so they have healed the grievous wound of my people, slightly, Saying, Peace, peace, when there was no peace,
Amapoletsa zilonda za anthu anga pamwamba pokha. Iwo amanena kuti, ‘Mtendere, mtendere,’ pamene palibe mtendere.
15 Were they led to turn pale because an abominable thing, they had done! Nay! they did not, at all turn pale, Nay! they did not so much as know how, to exhibit shame, Therefore, shall they fall among them who are falling, In the time when I punish them, shall they be overthrown, Saith Yahweh.
Kodi amachita manyazi akamachita zonyansazo? Ayi, sachita manyazi ndi pangʼono pomwe; sadziwa ndi kugwetsa nkhope komwe. Choncho iwo adzagwera pakati pa anzawo amene agwa kale; adzagwa pansi tsiku limene ndidzawalange,” akutero Yehova.
16 Thus saith Yahweh—Stand ye at the ways—and see, And ask for the paths of age-past times, Where is the good way? And walk therein, And ye shall find rest to your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein]!
Yehova akuti, “Imani pa mphambano ndipo mupenye; kumeneko ndiye kuli njira zakale, funsani kumene kuli njira yabwino. Yendani mʼmenemo, ndipo mudzapeza mpumulo wa miyoyo yanu. Koma inu munati, ‘Ife sitidzayenda njira imeneyo.’
17 Therefore will I raise up over you, watchmen, Give ye heed to the sound of a horn, —But they said, We will not give heed!
Ine ndinakupatsani alonda oti akuyangʼanireni ndipo ndinati, ‘Imvani kulira kwa lipenga!’ koma inu munati, ‘Sitidzamvera.’
18 Therefore, hear O ye nations, —And take knowledge O assembly, Of that which befalleth them:
Nʼchifukwa chake imvani, inu anthu a mitundu ina; yangʼanitsitsani, inu amene mwasonkhana pano, chimene chidzawachitikire anthuwo.
19 Hear thou—O earth, Lo! I, am bringing in Calamity against this people the fruit of their own devices, —For unto my words, have they not given heed, And as for my law, they have rejected it.
Imvani, inu anthu okhala pa dziko lapansi, ndikubweretsa masautso pa anthu awa. Zimenezi ndi mphotho ya ntchito zawo. Iwowa sanamvere mawu anga ndipo anakana lamulo langa.
20 What then is it to me that—Frankincense from Shebah come in, or Sweet cane from a land afar off? Your own ascending-offerings, are not acceptable, Nor are, your sacrifices, pleasing to me.
Kodi pali phindu lanji ngakhale mubwere ndi lubani kuchokera ku Seba, kapena zonunkhira zina kuchokera ku dziko lakutali? Nsembe zanu zopsereza Ine sindidzalandira; nsembe zanu sizindikondweretsa.”
21 Wherefore, Thus, saith Yahweh, Behold me! laying before this people, stumblingblocks, —And fathers and sons together, shall stumble against them, The neighbour and his friend, shall perish.
Choncho Yehova akuti, “Ndidzayika zokhumudwitsa pamaso pa anthu awa. Abambo ndi ana awo aamuna onse adzapunthwa ndi kugwa; anansi awo ndi abwenzi awo adzawonongeka.”
22 Thus, saith Yahweh, Lo! a people coming in from the land of the North, —Yea a great nation, shall be stirred up out of the remote parts of the earth:
Yehova akunena kuti, “Taonani, gulu lankhondo likubwera kuchokera kumpoto; mtundu wa anthu amphamvu wanyamuka kuchokera kumathero a dziko lapansi.
23 Bow and javelin, shall they grasp, Cruel, is he! So they will not have compassion, Their voice, like the sea, will roar, And on horses, will they ride, —Arrayed each one, like a man for battle, Against thee, O daughter of Zion!
Atenga mauta ndi mikondo; ndi anthu ankhanza ndi opanda chifundo. Phokoso lawo lili ngati mkokomo wa nyanja. Akwera pa akavalo awo ndipo akonzekera ngati anthu ankhondo, kudzakuthirani nkhondo anthu a ku Ziyoni.”
24 We have heard the report thereof, Relaxed are our hands, —Anguish, hath taken hold on us, Pangs, as on her that is giving birth.
A ku Ziyoni akuti “Ife tamva mbiri yawo, ndipo manja anthu alefukiratu. Nkhawa yatigwira, ndipo tikumva ululu ngati mayi pa nthawi yake yochira.
25 Do not go out into the field, And in the road, do not walk, -Because a sword, hath the foe, —Terror round about!
Musapite ku minda kapena kuyenda mʼmisewu, pakuti mdani ali ndi lupanga, ndipo ponseponse anthu akuchita mantha.
26 O daughter of my people Gird thee with sackcloth and roll thyself in ashes, —The mourning for an only son, make thou for thyself, Most bitter lamentation! For suddenly, shall the destroyer come upon us.
Inu anthu anga, valani ziguduli ndipo gubudukani pa phulusa; lirani mwamphamvu ngati munthu wolirira mwana wake mmodzi yekha, pakuti mwadzidzidzi wowonongayo adzabwera kudzatipha.
27 An assayer, have I set thee amongst my people, of gold-ore, —That thou mayest note and try their way:
“Iwe Yeremiya, ndakuyika kuti ukhale choyesera zitsulo. Uwayese anthu anga monga ungayesere chitsulo kuti uwone makhalidwe awo.
28 They all, are rebels of rebels, Slander-walkers [They are] bronze and iron! As for them all, corrupters, they are!
Onsewo ali ndi khalidwe lokanika ndi lowukira ndipo akunka nanena zamiseche. Iwo ndi olimba ngati mkuwa ndi chitsulo. Onse amangochita zoyipa zokhazokha.
29 Scorched are the bellows, By fire, is lead wont to be, consumed, —In vain, hath he gone on refining, For the wicked, have not been drawn out:
Moto mu mvukuto ukuyaka kwambiri; mtovu watha kusungunuka ndi moto. Koma ntchito yosungunulayo sikupindula chifukwa zoyipa sizikuchokapo.
30 Rejected silver, are they called, For, Yahweh, hath rejected them.
Iwo ali ngati siliva wotayidwa, chifukwa Yehova wawakana.”
