Jeremiah 46
1 So much of the word of Yahweh as came unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.
੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ।
2 Of Egypt, Concerning the force of Pharaoh-necho, king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates, in Carchemish, —which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, smote, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: —
੨ਮਿਸਰ ਲਈ। ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨਕੋਹ ਦੀ ਫੌਜ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਰਕਮੀਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਿਆ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ ਜਿਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਯੋਸ਼ੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਤਹ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, -
3 Prepare ye buckler and shield, And draw near to battle:
੩ਸਿਪਰ ਅਤੇ ਢਾਲ਼ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ, ਲੜਾਈ ਲਈ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਓ!
4 Harness the horses, and mount, ye horsemen, Stand forth in helmets, —Polish the lances, put on the coats of mail.
੪ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋਵੋ, ਹੇ ਅਸਵਾਰੋ, ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋਵੋ! ਟੋਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖੜੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ, ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਨੇਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਸ਼ਕਾਓ, ਸੰਜੋ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਨੋ!
5 Why have I seen it? They, panic-struck, are drawing back, Yea, their heroes, are crushed, Yea they have, fled, and not turned, —Terror round about! Declareth Yahweh.
੫ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ? ਉਹ ਘਬਰਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪਿਛਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਨੱਠ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ, - ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਭੈਅ ਹੈ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
6 Let not the swift, flee, Nor let the hero, escape, —Northward, beside the river Euphrates, have they stumbled, and fallen.
੬ਛੋਹਲਾ ਨਾ ਨੱਠੇ, ਨਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਬਚੇ, - ਉੱਤਰ ਵਲ ਦਰਿਆ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਏ।
7 Who is it that is like the Nile when it riseth, Like rivers when his waters are tossed?
੭ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨੀਲ ਨਦੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉੱਛਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਠਾਠਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ?
8 Egypt was like the Nile when it riseth, And like rivers, when the waters are tossed: So he said—I will rise, I will cover the earth, I will destroy the city, and the dwellers therein.
੮ਮਿਸਰ ਨੀਲ ਨਦੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉੱਛਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਉੱਛਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਉੱਛਲਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ!
9 Mount the horses, And drive the chariots madly on, So let the heroes, go forth, —Ethiopians and Libyans that grasp the buckler, And Lydians that grasp—that tread—the bow, But, that day, belongeth to My Lord Yahweh of hosts—
੯ਹੇ ਘੋੜਿਓ, ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਜਾਓ, ਹੇ ਰਥੋ, ਢਿਲਕਦੇ ਫਿਰੋ! ਸੂਰਮੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿੱਕਲਣ, ਕੂਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਟੀ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਢਾਲਾਂ ਫੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਲੂਦੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਧਣੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਝੁਕਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
10 A day of avenging, to avenge him of his adversaries, When the sword shall devour and be filled, and be sated with their blood, —For, a sacrifice, hath My Lord, Yahweh of hosts, In the land of the North Towards the river Euphrates.
੧੦ਉਹ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ, ਇੱਕ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ, ਭਈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਦਲਾ ਲਵੇ। ਤਲਵਾਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਜੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਬਲੀ ਹੈ, ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਦਰਿਆ ਕੋਲ।
11 Go up to Gilead and fetch balsam, O virgin daughter of Egypt! In vain, hast thou multiplied remedies, Healing, there is none for thee.
੧੧ਗਿਲਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਸਾਨ ਲੈ, ਹੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀਏ ਕੁਆਰੀਏ ਧੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਏਵੇਂ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਵਰਤਦੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਂਗੀ।
12 The nations have heard of thy disgrace, And, thine outcry, hath filled the earth, —For hero against hero, have they stumbled, Together, have fallen, the twain!
੧੨ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਈ। ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨਾਲ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਧੀ, ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਏ।
13 The word which Yahweh spake unto Jeremiah the prophet, —as to the coming of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon to smite the land of Egypt: —
੧੩ਉਹ ਬਚਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੇਗਾ, -
14 Tell ye it in Egypt, And let it be heard in Migdol, Yea let it be heard in Noph, and in Tahpanhes, —Say ye—Stand thou forth, and prepare thyself, For a sword hath devoured round about thee.
੧੪ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸੋ, ਮਿਗਦੋਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਣਾਓ, ਨੋਫ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਤਹਪਨਹੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸੁਣਾਓ, ਆਖੋ, ਖਲੋ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹੋ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਲਿਓਂ-ਦੁਆਲਿਓਂ ਖਾ ਲਵੇਗੀ!
15 Wherefore have thy valiant ones been laid prostrate? He hath made no stand, because, Yahweh, hath driven him back:
੧੫ਤੇਰੇ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੂੰਝੇ ਗਏ? ਉਹ ਖੜੇ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਾ ਜੋ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
16 Hath made many a one to be stumbling, Yea fallen is every one against his neighbour, So they have said—Arise and let us return to our own people, And unto the land of our birth, From the face of the sword of the oppressor.
੧੬ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੋਕਰ ਖੁਆਈ, ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਉੱਠੀਏ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਨਮ ਭੂਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੁੜ ਚੱਲੀਏ।
17 Proclaim ye a name, —Pharaoh, king of Egypt—a Sound! He hath overstepped the time appointed!
੧੭ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਿਸਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਸ਼ੋਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਘਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
18 As I live, saith the King, Yahweh of hosts, is his name: Though Like Tabor among mountains, Like Carmel, Into the sea shall he go!
੧੮ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਯਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਹੁੰ, ਰਾਜਾ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੈ, ਨਿਸੰਗ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਬੋਰ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਕੋਲ ਕਰਮਲ, ਓਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਆਵੇਗਾ।
19 Baggage for captivity, prepare thee, O inhabitress, daughter of Egypt; For, Noph, shall become a desolation, And be burned without inhabitant.
੧੯ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੀ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਲਕਾ ਤੁਕਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀਏ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਧੀਏ! ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਨੋਫ਼ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਭਸਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਵੱਸੇਗਾ।
20 A calf of great beauty, is Egypt: The gad-fly, out of the North, cometh—cometh.
੨੦ਮਿਸਰ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਵੱਛੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੱਖ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਗਾ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
21 Even her hirelings in her midst are like fatted calves, For, even they, have turned—have fled at once! have made no stand! For, their day of doom, hath come upon them, The time of their visitation.
੨੧ਉਹ ਦੇ ਭਾੜੇ ਦੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਪਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੱਛਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹਨ। ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਨੱਠ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਖਲੋ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ।
22 Her noise, like a serpent, departeth, —For, with a force, they advance, And with axes, have they come against her, like them who fell trees:
੨੨ਉਹ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੱਪ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉੱਠੇਗੀ, ਉਹ ਫੌਜ ਨਾਲ ਆਉਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੱਕੜਹਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਕੁਹਾੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਉਣਗੇ!
23 They have cut down her forest Declareth Yahweh, Surely he cannot be searched out, —For they have outnumbered locusts, and cannot be counted.
੨੩ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਿਣਤੀ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਲਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਗਿਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
24 Put to shame is the daughter of Egypt, —She hath been delivered into the hand of the people of the North.
੨੪ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਲੱਜਿਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਉਹ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
25 Saith Yahweh of host God of Israel, —Behold me! bringing punishment—against Amon of No, and upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt, and upon her gods and upon her kings, —Even upon Pharaoh, and upon all that trust in him;
੨੫ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਨੋ ਦੇ ਆਮੋਨ ਦੀ, ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੀ, ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ, ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ
26 And I will deliver them—Into the hand of them who are seeking their life, Even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon And into the hand of his servants, —And after that, shall it be inhabited as in the days of old Declareth Yahweh.
੨੬ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਗਾਹਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਅਬਾਦ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਹਿਲਿਆਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
27 Thou, therefore, do not fear, O my Servant Jacob Nor be dismayed O Israel, For behold me! Saving thee from afar, And thy seed from the land of their captivity, —So shall Jacob return and be quiet and shall rest, With none to occasion alarm.
੨੭ਪਰ ਤੂੰ, ਹੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ, ਨਾ ਡਰ, ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਨਾ ਘਬਰਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਤੋਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਸਲ ਨੂੰ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਮੁੜੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਚੈਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਡਰਾਵੇਗਾ।
28 Thou, do not fear, O my Servant Jacob, Urgeth Yahweh, For, with thee, am I: Though I make an end of all the nations whither I have driven thee, Yet of thee, will I not make an end, But will correct thee in measure, And not hold thee, guiltless,
੨੮ਹੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ, ਨਾ ਡਰ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੱਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਨਰਮਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਪਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਛੱਡਾਂਗਾ।
