< Jeremiah 45 >

1 The word which Jeremiah the prophet spake, unto Baruch son of Neriah, —when he had written these words upon a book, from the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah saying—
O KA olelo a Ieremia, a ke kaula i olelo ai ia Baruka ke keiki a Neria, ia ia i kakau ai i keia mau olelo maloko o ka buke, no ka waha mai o Ieremia, i ka makahiki eha o Iehoiakima, ke keiki a Iosia, ke alii o ka Iuda, i mai la,
2 Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Unto thee, O Baruch, —
Ke olelo mai nei o Iehova, ke Akua o ka Iseraela ia oe, E Baruka, penei;
3 Thou didst say, Surely woe to me! For Yahweh hath added sorrow unto my pain, —I am weary with my moaning, And rest, have I not found!
Ua olelo mai no oe, Ano la, auwe ia'u! no ka mea, ua hooili mai o Iehova i ke kaumaha maluna o ko'u eha: Maule no au i ko'u kaniuhu ana, aole loaa ia'u ka hoomaha.
4 Thus, shalt thou say unto him Thus, saith Yahweh, —Lo! what I had built, I am pulling down, And what I had planted, I am rooting up, —And that is, all the land:
Penei oe e olelo ai ia ia, Ke olelo mai nei o Iehova penei; Aia hoi, o ka mea a'u i kukulu ai, oia ka'u e wawahi ai, a o ka mea a'u i kanu ai, oia ka'u e uhuki ai, o keia aina hoi a pau.
5 Wouldst, thou, then seek to secure for thyself great things? Do not seek! For behold me! bringing in calamity upon all flesh, Declareth Yahweh, Nevertheless I will give thee thine own life as a spoil, in all places whithersoever thou goest.
Ke imi nei anei oe i mea nui nou! Mai imi oe; no ka mea, aia hoi, e lawe mai no wau i ka hewa maluna a na mea ola a pau, wahi a Iehova; aka, e haawi no wau i kou ola ia oe, i waiwai pio nou, ma na wahi a pau au e hele aku ai.
