Jeremiah 34
1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, —when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his force and all the kingdoms of the earth the dominion of his hand, and all the peoples were fighting against Jerusalem and against all her cities, saying:
Palavra que veio do SENHOR a Jeremias, (quando Nabucodonosor rei da Babilônia, e todo o seu exército, e todos os reinos da terra que estavam sob o domínio de sua mão, e todos os povos, lutavam contra Jerusalém e contra todas as suas cidades), dizendo:
2 Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Go and speak unto Zedekiah king of Judah, —and say unto him—Thus, saith Yahweh, Behold me! giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire;
Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Vai, e fala a Zedequias rei de Judá, e dize-lhe: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu dou esta cidade na mão do rei de Babilônia, e ele a queimará no fogo;
3 And, thou, shalt not escape out of his hand, For thou shalt be, taken, And into his hand, shalt thou be delivered, —And, thine own eyes, into the eyes of the king of Babylon, shall look, And his mouth, with thy mouth, shall speak And Babylon, shalt thou enter.
E tu não escaparás de sua mão; ao contrário, certamente serás preso, e serás entregue na mão dele; e teus olhos verão os olhos do rei da Babilônia, e ele te falará face a face, e entrarás na Babilônia.
4 Nevertheless, hear the word of Yahweh, O Zedekiah, king of Judah, —Thus, saith Yahweh Concerning thee, Thou shalt not die, by the sword;
Ainda assim, ouve a palavra do SENHOR, ó Zedequias rei de Judá; assim diz o SENHOR quanto ti: Tu não morrerás à espada;
5 In peace, shalt thou die, And with the burnings made for thy fathers the former kings who were before thee, so, shall they make a burning unto thee, And, with an, Alas lord! shall they lament thee, —Because of the word, I, have spoken, Declareth Yahweh.
Em paz morrerás, e conforme às cerimônias de queimas por teus pais, os primeiros reis, que foram antes de ti, assim queimarão por ti, e prantearão por ti, dizendo: Ai, senhor!; pois eu disse esta palavra, diz o SENHOR.
6 Then spake Jeremiah the prophet, unto Zedekiah king of Judah all these words in Jerusalem;
E o profeta Jeremias falou a Zedequias, rei de Judá, todas estas palavras em Jerusalém,
7 when, the force of the king of Babylon, was fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, —against Lachish and against Azekah, for they, remained among the cities of Judah as fortified cities.
Enquanto o exército do rei de Babilônia lutava contra Jerusalém e contra todas as cidades de Judá que haviam restado: contra Laquis, e contra Azeca; pois essas cidades fortificadas haviam restado dentre as cidades de Judá.
8 The word which came unto Jeremiah, from Yahweh, —after that King Zedekiah had solemnised a covenant with all the people who were in Jerusalem, proclaiming unto them liberty:
Palavra que veio do SENHOR a Jeremias, depois que o rei Zedequias fez um pacto com todo o povo em Jerusalém, para lhes proclamar liberdade;
9 that every man should let his servant and every man his handmaid, being a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free, —so that no man should use them as slaves, to wit a Jew his brother;
Que cada um libertasse seu servo, e cada um sua serva, hebreu ou hebreia; de maneira que ninguém usasse dos seus irmãos judeus como servos.
10 so then they hearkened—even all the princes and all the people who had entered into the covenant that every man should let his servant and every man his handmaid, go free, so as not to use them as slaves, any longer, —yea they hearkened, and let them go,
E atenderam todos os príncipes, e todo o povo, que entraram no pacto de cada um libertar a seu servo e cada um libertar sua serva, de maneira que ninguém usasse mais deles como servos, atenderam, e os liberaram.
11 howbeit they turned after that, and brought back the servants and the handmaids whom they had let go, free, and brought them into subjection as servants and as handmaids,
Porém depois se arrependeram, e trouxeram de volta os servos e as servas que haviam libertado, e os sujeitaram para serem servos e servas.
12 So then the word of Yahweh came unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying:
Então veio a palavra do SENHOR a Jeremias, de parte do SENHOR, dizendo:
13 Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, —I myself, solemnised a covenant with your fathers, in the day when I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slaves saying:
Assim diz o SENHOR, Deus de Israel: Eu fiz um pacto com vossos pais no dia em que os tirei da terra do Egito, da casa de servos, dizendo:
14 At the end of seven years, shall ye let go every man his brother, being a Hebrew, who shall sell himself unto thee and serve thee, six years, then shalt thou let him go, free, from thee, Howbeit your fathers hearkened not unto me neither inclined their ear.
Ao fim de sete anos libertareis cada um a seu irmão hebreu que te for vendido, e tiver servido a ti por seis anos; e o deixarás livre de ti; mas vossos pais não me ouviram, nem inclinaram seu ouvidos.
15 And, though, ye, just now turned and did that which was right in mine eyes, by proclaiming liberty, every man to his neighbour, —and solemnised a covenant before me, in the house on which my Name hath been called,
E recentemente vós havíeis vos convertido, e tínheis feito o correto em meus olhos, proclamando cada um liberdade a seu próximo; e havíeis feito um pacto diante de minha presença, na casa sobre que se chama pelo meu nome:
16 yet have ye turned and profaned my Name, and brought back, every man his servant and every man his hand-maid, whom ye had let go, free, at their own desire, —and have brought them into subjection, to become your servants and handmaids.
Porém mudastes de ideia e profanastes o meu nome, e trouxestes de volta cada um a seu servo e cada um sua serva, os quais já havíeis libertado à vontade deles; e os sujeitastes para que sejam vossos servos e servas.
17 Therefore—Thus, saith Yahweh, Ye, have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every man to his brother and every man to his neighbour: Behold me! proclaiming, to you, a liberty: Declareth Yahweh unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, so will I make you a terror to all the kingdoms of the earth;
Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: Vós não me ouvistes em proclamar cada um liberdade a seu irmão, e cada um a seu companheiro; eis que eu vos proclamo liberdade, diz o SENHOR, para a espada, para a pestilência, e para a fome; e eu vos tornarei em motivo de espanto a todos os reinos da terra.
18 and will give the men who are transgressing my covenant, in that they have not confirmed the words of the covenant, which they solemnised, before me, when they cut the calf, in twain, and passed between the parts thereof;
E entregarei os homens que transgrediram meu pacto, que não cumpriram as palavras do pacto que fizeram diante de mim, dividindo em duas partes o bezerro e passando entre de seus pedaços:
19 even the princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs and the priests, and all the people of the land, —who passed between the parts of the calf,
Os príncipes de Judá e os príncipes de Jerusalém, os eunucos e os sacerdotes, e todo o povo da terra, que passaram entre os pedaços do bezerro,
20 yea I will give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them who are seeking their life, —and their dead bodies shall become food for the birds of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth.
Eu os entregarei na mão de seus inimigos, e na mão dos que buscam [tirar] sua vida; e seus cadáveres serão alimento para as aves do céu, e para os animais da terra.
21 Zedekiah king of Judah also with his princes, will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them who are seeking their life, —even into the hand of the force of the king of Babylon, who are going up from you.
E até a Zedequias, rei de Judá, e a seus príncipes, entregarei na mão de seus inimigos, e na mão dos que buscam [tirar] sua vida, e na mão do exército do rei da Babilônia, que se retiraram de vós.
22 Behold me! giving command, Declareth Yahweh, and I will bring them back unto this city, and they will fight against it and capture it, and consume it with fire, —and, the cities of Judah, will I make too desolate to have an inhabitant.
Eis que eu darei ordem, diz o SENHOR, e os farei voltarem a esta cidade; e lutarão contra ela, e a tomarão, e a queimarão a fogo; e tornarei em desolação as cidades de Judá, de modo que não haja morador.
