Jeremiah 24

1 Yahweh shewed me, and lo! two baskets of figs, which had been set before the temple of Yahweh, —after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive, Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and the princes of Judah and the carpenters and the smiths out of Jerusalem, and had brought them into Babylon: —

௧பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார், யோயாக்கீமின் மகனாகிய எகொனியா என்கிற யூதாவின் ராஜாவையும், யூதாவின் பிரபுக்களையும், எருசலேமிலுள்ள தச்சரையும், கொல்லரையும், சிறைப்பிடித்து, பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோனபின்பு, இதோ, யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தின் முன் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த அத்திப்பழங்களுள்ள இரண்டு கூடைகளைக் யெகோவா எனக்குக் காண்பித்தார்.

2 the one basket, was of very good figs, like the first-ripe figs; and, the other basket, was of very bad figs, which could not be eaten for badness.

௨ஒரு கூடையில் முதல் அறுவடையின் அத்திப்பழங்களுக்குச் சமானமான மிகவும் நல்ல அத்திப்பழங்களும், மற்ற கூடையில் சாப்பிடமுடியாத மிகவும் கெட்ட அத்திப்பழங்களும் இருந்தது.

3 Then said Yahweh unto me, —What canst thou see, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs: the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, for badness.

௩யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: எரேமியாவே, நீ என்னத்தைக் காண்கிறாய் என்றார்; அதற்கு நான்: அத்திப்பழங்களைக் காண்கிறேன்; நல்லவைகளான அத்திப்பழங்கள் மிகவும் நல்லவைகளும், கெட்டவைகளோ சாப்பிடமுடியாத மிகவும் கெட்டவைகளுமாயிருக்கிறது என்றேன்.

4 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:

௪அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்:

5 Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Like these good figs, so, will I regard them of Judah who are carried into captivity, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good.

௫நான் இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து, கல்தேயர் தேசத்திற்குச் சிறைப்பட்டுப் போகவிட்ட யூதரை நான் இந்த நல்ல அத்திப்பழங்களுக்கு ஒப்பிட்டு, அவர்களுக்கு நன்மையுண்டாக அவர்களை அங்கீகரிப்பேன்.

6 Therefore will I set mine eye upon them for good, and will bring them back upon this land, —and will build them up, and not pull them down, and will plant them and not root them up;

௬அவர்களுக்கு நன்மையுண்டாக நான் என் கண்களை அவர்கள்மேல் வைத்து, அவர்களை இந்த தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிவரச்செய்து, அவர்களைக்கட்டுவேன், அவர்களை இடிக்கமாட்டேன், அவர்களை நாட்டுவேன், அவர்களைப் பிடுங்கமாட்டேன்.

7 and will give them a heart to know, me, that, I, am Yahweh, So shall they become my people, And, I, will become their God; for they will return unto me with all their heart.

௭நான் யெகோவா என்று அறியும் இருதயத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்; அவர்கள் என் மக்களாக இருப்பார்கள், நான் அவர்கள் தேவனாயிருப்பேன்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் என்னிடத்திற்குத் திரும்புவார்கள் என்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

8 And like the bad figs, which cannot be eaten for badness, Surely thus, saith Yahweh—so, will I deliver up Zedekiah king of Judah, and his princes and the remnant of Jerusalem that remain in this land, and them who are dwelling in the land of Egypt;

௮சாப்பிடமுடியாத கெட்ட அத்திப்பழங்களைத் தள்ளிவிடுவதுபோல, நான் சிதேக்கியா என்கிற யூதாவின் ராஜாவையும் அவனுடைய பிரபுக்களையும், இந்த தேசத்தில் மீதியான எருசலேமின் மக்களையும், எகிப்து தேசத்தில் குடியிருக்கிறவர்களையும் தள்ளிவிட்டு,

9 yea I will deliver them up, as a terror of calamity, to all the kingdoms of the earth, —as a reproach and as a byword, as a mockery and as a contempt, in every place whither I will drive them;

௯அவர்களுக்குத் தீமையுண்டாக அவர்களை பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லா தேசங்களிலும் அலைந்து திரிகிறவர்களாகவும், நான் அவர்களைத் துரத்திவிட்ட எல்லா இடங்களிலும் நிந்தையாகவும், பழமொழியாகவும், பழிச் சொல்லாகவும், சாபமாகவும் வைத்து,

10 and I will send among them, sword famine and pestilence, —until they are consumed from off the soil which I gave to them and to their fathers.

௧0அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கும் நான் கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் அவர்கள் இராதபடிக்கு அழியும்வரை, அவர்களுக்குள்ளே பட்டயத்தையும், பஞ்சத்தையும், கொள்ளை நோயையும் அனுப்புவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
