Jeremiah 19
1 Thus said Yahweh, Go and buy a potter’s earthen bottle, —and take of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the priests;
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിച്ചു: നീ പോയി കുശവനോടു ഒരു മൺകുടം വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങി ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരിലും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരിലും ചിലരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു
2 Then shalt thou go forth into the valley of Ben-hinnom, which is at the opening of the gate of potsherds; and proclaim there the words which I shall speak unto thee;
ഹർസീത്ത് (ഓട്ടുനുറുക്കു) വാതിലിന്റെ പുറമെയുള്ള ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്വരയിൽ ചെന്നു, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്ന വാക്കുകളെ അവിടെ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടതു:
3 and shalt say, —Hear ye the word of Yahweh, O kings of Judah And inhabitants of Jerusalem, —Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts—God of Israel Behold me! bringing in calamity upon this place, which shall cause the ears of every one that heareth it, to tingle:
യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരും യെരൂശലേം നിവസികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ! യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: കേൾക്കുന്നവന്റെ ചെവി മുഴങ്ങത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഒരനൎത്ഥം വരുത്തും.
4 Because they have forsaken me, And have treated this as a foreign place, And have burned incense therein to other gods, which neither they, nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah, have known; And have filled this place with the blood of innocents;
അവർ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, ഈ സ്ഥലത്തെ വഷളാക്കി, തങ്ങളും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദേവന്മാൎക്കു അവിടെവെച്ചു ധൂപംകാട്ടി, ഈ സ്ഥലത്തെ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവരുടെ രക്തംകൊണ്ടു നിറെക്കയും
5 And have built the high places of Baal for burning up their sons in the fire as ascending-sacrifices to Baal, —Which I commanded not, Nor spake, Neither came it up on my heart,
ബാലിന്നു ഹോമബലികളായി തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെ തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ദഹിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ബാലിന്നു പൂജാഗിരികളെ പണികയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. അതു ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല, എന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ വന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.
6 Therefore, lo! days coming, Declareth Yahweh, When this place shall be called no longer The Topheth, or The Valley of Ben-hinnom, —but—The Valley of Slaughter;
അതുകൊണ്ടു ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഇനി തോഫെത്ത് എന്നും ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോംതാഴ്വര എന്നും പേരുപറയാതെ കുലത്താഴ്വര എന്നു പേരുപറയുന്ന കാലം വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
7 And I will pour out the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place, And I will cause them to fall by the sword, before their enemies, and by the hand of them who seek their life, —
അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു യെഹൂദയുടെയും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെയും ആലോചനയെ നിഷ്ഫലമാക്കും; ഞാൻ അവരെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വാൾകൊണ്ടും അവൎക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൈകൊണ്ടും വീഴുമാറാക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങളെ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്കും കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഇരയാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
8 And I will give their dead bodies for food, to the bird of the heavens and to the beast of the earth; And I will make this city a desolation and a hissing, —every one that passeth by it, shall be astonished and hiss over all her wounds;
ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ സ്തംഭനത്തിന്നും പരിഹാസത്തിന്നും വിഷയമാക്കിത്തീൎക്കും; അതിന്നരികെ കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവനും സ്തംഭിച്ചു അതിന്നു നേരിട്ട സകലബാധകളുംനിമിത്തം ചൂളകുത്തും.
9 And I will suffer them to eat the flesh of their sons, and the flesh of their daughters, yea every one—the flesh of his friend, will they eat, —in the siege and in the straitness, wherewith, their enemies, and they who seek their lives, will straiten them.
അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളും അവൎക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവരും അവരെ ഞെരുക്കുന്ന ഞെരുക്കത്തിലും നിരോധത്തിലും ഞാൻ അവരെ സ്വന്ത പുത്രന്മാരുടെ മാംസവും പുത്രിമാരുടെ മാംസവും തിന്നുമാറാക്കും; ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നും.
10 Then shalt thou break the bottle, before the eyes of the men who are walking with thee;
പിന്നെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പോന്ന പുരുഷന്മാർ കാൺകെ നീ ആ മൺകുടും ഉടെച്ചു അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
11 and shalt say unto them—Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts—Thus and thus, will I break this people, and this city, As one breaketh the vessel of a potter, which cannot be made whole any more, —And in Topheth, shall they bury, for want of place to bury.
സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നന്നാക്കിക്കൂടാതവണ്ണം കുശവന്റെ പാത്രം ഉടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും ഉടെച്ചുകളയും. അടക്കം ചെയ്‌വാൻ വേറെ സ്ഥലമില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവരെ തോഫെത്തിൽ അടക്കംചെയ്യും.
12 Thus, will I do to this place Declareth Yahweh, And to the inhabitants thereof, —Even making this city like Topheth:
ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തോടും അതിലെ നിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്യും; ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ തോഫെത്തിന്നു സമമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
13 Yea, the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall like the place of Topheth, be places defiled, —even all the houses upon whose roofs they burned incense to all the host of the heavens, and poured out drink-offerings to other gods.
മലിനമായിരിക്കുന്ന യെരൂശലേംവീടുകളും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അരമനകളും അവർ മേല്പുരകളിൽവെച്ചു ആകാശത്തിലെ സൎവ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും ധൂപം കാണിക്കയും അന്യദേവന്മാൎക്കു പാനീയബലി പകരുകയും ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ വീടുകളും തന്നേ തോഫെത്ത് എന്ന സ്ഥലംപോലെയാകും.
14 Then entered Jeremiah out of Topheth, whither Yahweh had sent him to prophesy, —and stood in the court of the house of Yahweh, and said unto all the people:
അനന്തരം യിരെമ്യാവു യഹോവ തന്നെ പ്രവചിപ്പാൻ അയിച്ചിരുന്ന തോഫെത്തിൽനിന്നു വന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരത്തിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു സകലജനത്തോടും:
15 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Behold me! brining in against this city, and upon all the cities thereof, The whole calamity which I have pronounced against her, —Because they stiffened their neck, that they might not hear my words.
യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അവർ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേൾക്കാതെ ശാഠ്യംപിടിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നു വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന അനൎത്ഥം ഒക്കെയും അതിന്നു അതിന്നടുത്ത എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കും വരുത്തും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
