< James 4 >

1 Whence wars and whence fightings among you? are they not from hence—due to your pleasures which are taking the field in your members?
Amabaatu nakukaning'hana pakati palyumue fihuma kughi? Asi nafihuma muvunoghele vwinu uvuvivi vuno vupelela uvulugu n'kate muvuhangelanesi viinu? Munoghilue fino namulinafyo.
2 Ye covet—and have not, ye commit murder, and are jealous—and cannot obtain, —ye fight and war. Ye have not—because ye do not really ask,
Mu uluo ndaponu mula kubuda. Muuva na mabatu nakulua, kange fino mulonda nampata ulwakuva namusuma kwa Nguluve.
3 Ye ask and receive not, because that, basely, ye ask, in order that, in your pleasures, ye may spend [it].
Nambe musuma uNguluve naikuvapulika ulwakuva musuma fino mulonda muvunoghelua vwiinu uvuvivi.
4 Adulteresses! Know ye not that, the friendship of the world, is, enmity to God? Whosoever, therefore, is minded to be, a friend, of the world, an enemy of God, doth constitute himself.
Umue vaghenda mwalu! Namukagula kuuti kujighana iisi kupelela kuuva mulugu ghwa Nguluve? Kwe kuuti, umunhu ghweni juno ikujighana iisi ikuviika jujuo kuva mulugu ghwa Nguluve.
5 Or think ye that, in vain, the scripture speaketh? Is it, for envying, that the spirit which hath taken an abode within us doth crave?
Pamo musagha kuuti amalembe amimike ghijova vuvule pono ghiiti uNguluve ilemala fiijo vwiimila umhepo ghwake junojuno ambikile mumojomumojo ghiitu pano ivona tukuvuhiila pikumughano umwene?
6 Howbeit he giveth, greater, favour. Wherefore it saith—God, against the haughty, arrayeth himself, Whereas, unto the lowly, he giveth favour.
Niiki uNguluve ihumia uvumofu fiijo, ndavule amalembe ghiiti, “U Nguluve ikuntova unyamatupa, looli ikumpelagha uvumofu junoalinuvukola.”
7 Range yourselves, therefore, under God, but withstand the adversary, and he will flee from you:
Lino, mukundaghe Kwan Nguluve. Munkanaghe usetano pe ghwope ikiimbala kuhuma kulyumue.
8 Draw near unto God, and he will draw near unto you. Cleanse hands, sinners! Chasten hearts, double souls!
Muvesaghe piping nu Nguluve, ghoope iva pipi numue. Musuke amavoko ghinu, umue mwe vahosi, kange muvalasiaghe amojo ghiinu, umue mwe vanyamasaghe ghaviili.
9 Be miserable and lament and weep, let, your laughter, into lamentation, be turned, and, your joy, into dejection;
Musukunalaghe, mulilaghe, nakujijivila! Mushetulaniaghe uluseko lyuinu love lusukunalo nu lukelo lyuinu luuve lusukunalo.
10 Be made low in presence of the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Move vakola jumue pa maso gha Mutwa, kange ikuvaghinia kukyanya.
11 Be not speaking one against another, brethren! He that speaketh against a brother, or judgeth his brother, speaketh against law, and judgeth law; Now, if, upon law, thou art passing judgment, thou art not a doer of law, but a judge!
Vanyalukolo vango, mulekaghe kujovana fivi jumue Kwan jumue, juno ikunjova fiivi unjake nambe kuhigha, ujuo iiva ibenapula indaghilo sa Nguluve nakukusivona kuuva mbiivi. Nave ghuvona indaghilo mbiivi, apuo pe ghuva naghukusivingilila, looli ghuvikile kuuva mulamusi ghwa ndaghilo.
12 One, is Lawgiver and Judge—He who hath power to save and to destroy; but who art, thou, that judgest thy neighbour?
Ghwe jumo mwene juno ihumia indaghilo nu vuhighi, Nguluve, umwene ghwenya vumofu vwa kutupoka na kutipula. Uve veve veeni ghwejuno ghukumhigha unjaako?
13 Come now! ye that say—Today or To-morrow, we will journey unto this city here, and will spend there a year, and will trade and get gain, —
Mhumhulikisie, mwevano mwiiti, “Umusyughu nambe pakilavo, tuluta mulikaja iili, na kukukala umwaka ghwoni, kuvomba imbombo ja kughusia ifiinu, napitenda uluvumbulilo.”
14 Men who are not versed in the morrow—of what sort your life [will be]; for ye are, a vapour—for a little, appearing, then, just disappearing!
Veeni juno akagwileakagwile pakilavo kihumila kiki, kange uvwumi vwinu kinukiki fijo? Ulwakuva mulindavule ulutuka luno luvoneka unsiki ndebe vuvule nakusovanika.
15 Instead of your saying—If, the Lord, be pleased, we shall both, live and do this or that;
Muvele munoghile multi, “Nave uMutwa akeele tujighe vuumi, tuvomba iki name kila.”
16 Whereas, now, are ye boasting in your pretensions: —All boasting like this, is, wicked,
Neke umue mukughiniamukughinia na kukudadimba musino musagha kuvomba. ulughinio lwonilwoni uluo vohosi.
17 To him, therefore, who knoweth how to be doing, a right thing, and is not doing it, it is, sin, unto him.
Lino, Kwa jujuo mwene umanyi ivomba inofu neke naivomba, kwa mwene ujuo nyiivi.
