Isaiah 1
1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, which he saw, concerning Judah and Jerusalem, —in the days of Uzziah Jotham Ahaz Hezekiah—kings of Judah.
१आमोज याचा मुलगा यशया ह्याने यहूदा व यरूशलेम ह्याविषयी उज्जीया, योथाम, आहाज व हिज्कीया या यहूदी राजांच्या कालकिर्दीच्या काळात पुढे घडून येणाऱ्या गोष्टींविषयीचा दृष्टांत पाहिला.
2 Hear O heavens, And give ear, O earth, for Yahweh, hath spoken: —Sons, have I brought up, and advanced, And, they, have rebelled against me.
२हे आकाशा, ऐक आणि हे पृथ्वी लक्षपूर्वक कान दे; कारण परमेश्वर हे बोलला आहेः “मी लेकरांचे पालनपोषण करून त्यांना वाढविले, परंतु त्यांनी मजविरूद्ध बंडखोरी केली.
3 An ox knoweth, his owner, And an ass his masters crib, —Israel, doth not know, My people doth not consider.
३बैल आपल्या धन्याला ओळखतो, आणि गाढव आपल्या मालकाचे खाण्याचे कुंड ओळखतो, परंतु इस्राएल ओळखत नाही, इस्राएलास समजत नाही.”
4 Alas! a nation—committing sin, a people—burdened with iniquity, a seed—practising wickedness, sons—acting corruptly. They have forsaken Yahweh despised the Holy One of Israel, —Are estranged and gone back.
४अहाहा! हे राष्ट्र, पापी, दुष्कृत्यांच्या भाराने खाली दबलेले लोक, दुष्ट जनांची संतती, भ्रष्टाचाराने वागणारी मुले! त्यांनी परमेश्वरास सोडून दिले आहे, इस्राएलाच्या पवित्र परमेश्वरास त्यांनी तुच्छ लेखले आहे. त्यांनी स्वतःस त्याच्यापासून दूर केले आहे.
5 Why should ye be smitten any more? Ye would again turn aside! The whole head is sick, And the whole heart faint:
५तुम्ही अजूनही का मार खाता? तुम्ही अधिकाधिक बंड का करता? तुमचे संपूर्ण मस्तक आजारी व संपूर्ण अंतःकरण कमकुवत आहे.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head, there is in it no soundness, Bruise and stripe and newly-made wound, —They have not been pressed out, nor bound up, nor soothed with oil.
६पायाच्या तळव्यापायापासून डोक्यापर्यंत ज्याला दुखापत झाली नाही असा भाग राहीला नाही; फक्त जखमा व घाव आणि ताज्या उघड्या जखमा आहेत; त्या स्वच्छ केल्या नाहीत, पट्टी बांधून त्या झाकल्याही नाहीत किंवा तेलाने उपचार केला नाही.
7 Your country—is a desolation, Your cities—are consumed with fire, —Your soil—right before your eyes, foreigners are devouring it, And it is a desolation a very overthrow by foreigners;
७तुमचा ओसाड झाला आहे; तुमची नगरे जळून गेली आहेत. तुमच्या देखत परकीयांनी तुमची शेते उध्द्वस्त केली आहेत. परकीयांनी ती नासधूस करून, उलथून सोडून दिली आहेत.
8 And left is the Daughter of Zion, Like a hut in a vineyard, —Like a lodge in a gourd-plot Like a city besieged.
८सियोनाची कन्या ही द्राक्षाच्या मळ्यातील खोपटीसारखी, काकडीच्या बागेतील पडवीसारखी, वेढा दिलेल्या नगरासारखी झाली आहे.
9 If, Yahweh of hosts, had not left us a very small remnant, Like Sodom, had we become, Gomorrah, had we resembled.
९जर सेनाधीश परमेश्वराने आम्हासाठी थोडेही शिल्लक ठेवले नसते तर आमची अवस्था सदोम व गमोरा या नगरांसारखी झाली असती.
10 Hear the word of Yahweh, ye rulers of Sodom, —Give ear to the instruction of our God, ye people of Gomorrah: —
१०सदोमाच्या अधिकाऱ्यांनो, परमेश्वराचा वचन ऐका; गमोराच्या लोकांनो आमच्या देवाच्या नियमशास्त्राकडे लक्ष्य द्या.
11 Of what use to me, is your multitude of sacrifices: Saith Yahweh: I am sated with ascending-offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts, —In the blood of bulls and young rams and he-goats, have I no pleasure.
११परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “तुमचे असंख्य यज्ञबली माझ्या काय कामाचे? जळालेल्या मेंढरांची अर्पणे, प्राण्यांची चरबी ही मला आता पुरेशी झाली आहेत; आणि तसेच बैल, कोंकरे, किंवा शेळ्या यांच्या रक्ताने मला संतोष होत नाही;”
12 When ye enter to see my face, Who hath required this at your hand trampling my courts?
१२जेव्हा तुम्ही मजसमोर सादर होण्यास येता, माझी अंगणे आपल्या पायाखाली तुडविता? असे करण्यास तुम्हास कोणी सांगितले?
13 Ye shall not again bring in an empty, present, Incense, an abomination, is that unto me! New moon, and sabbath calling an assembly—I cannot endure, iniquity and sacred festival!
१३पुन्हा निरर्थक अशी अर्पणे आणू नका; धुपाचा मला तिटकारा आहे. तुमचे नवचंद्रदर्शन व शब्बाथ मेळे, असे पापी मेळे मी खपवून घेत नाही.
14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts, my soul, hateth, —They have become unto me a burden I am too weary to bear:
१४तुमची चंद्रदर्शने व तुम्ही नेमलेले सण यांचा माझा जीव द्वेष करतो; त्यांचे मला ओझे झाले आहे; तो सहन करून मी थकलो आहे.
15 Even when ye spread forth your open palms, I hide mine eyes from you; Yea, though ye multiply prayers, I am not hearkening, —Your hands, with deeds of blood, are filled.
१५म्हणून जेव्हा तुम्ही प्रार्थनेत हात पसरता, तेव्हा मी आपले डोळे तुम्हापासून झाकीन; जरी तुम्ही पुष्कळ प्रार्थना केल्या, तरीही मी त्या ऐकणार नाही; तुमचे हात निष्पापांच्या घाताच्या रक्ताने पूर्णपणे भरले आहेत.
16 Wash you make you clean, Put away the wickedness of your doings from before mine eyes, —Cease to do evil.
१६स्वतःला धुवा, स्वच्छ करा; तुमची दुष्ट कृत्ये माझ्या नजरेपासून नाहीशी करा; वाईट करणे सोडा;
17 Learn to do well—Seek justice, Correct the oppressor, —Vindicate the fatherless, Plead the cause of the widow,
१७चांगले करण्यास शिका; न्याय मिळवा, पीडितांची मदत करा, पितृहीनांना न्याय द्या, विधवांचे रक्षण करा.
18 Come, I pray you, and let us settle the dispute Saith Yahweh, —Though your sins be found like scarlet, As snow, shall they be made white, Though they appear red like crimson, As wool, shall they become.
१८परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “आता या, व एकमेकांशी संवाद करून हे जाणून घ्या; जरी तुमची पातके लाखेसारखी लाल असली, तरीही ती बर्फाप्रमाणे शुभ्र होतील; जरी ती किरमिजी रंगासारखी लाल असली, तरी ती शुभ्र लोकरीसारखी होतील.
19 If ye be willing—and hearken Of the good of the land, shall ye eat;
१९जर तुमची इच्छा असेल व तुम्ही माझ्या आज्ञा पाळाल, तर तुम्हास या भूमीपासून चांगले खावयास मिळेल.
20 But, if ye refuse and rebel, With the sword, shall ye be devoured, For, the mouth of Yahweh, hath spoken it.
२०परंतु जर तुम्ही नाकाराल व बंड कराल, तर तलवार तुमचा नाश करील,” कारण परमेश्वर आपल्या मुखाने हे बोलला आहे.
21 How hath she become unchaste!—The city that was Faithful, —Full of justice, Righteousness lodged in her, But, now, murderers!
२१विश्वासू नगरी वेश्या कशी झाली! ती जी की पूर्णपणे न्यायी होती, धार्मिकतेने परिपूर्ण होती, पण ती आज खुन्यांनी भरून गेली आहे.
22 Thy silver, hath become dross, —Thy wine, weakened with water;
२२तुमची चांदी अशुद्ध झाली आहे, तुमच्या द्राक्षरसात पाणी मिसळले आहे.
23 Thy rulers, are unruly, and companions of thieves, Every one of the people, loveth a bribe, and runneth after rewards, —The fatherless, they do not vindicate, And, the plea of the widow, reacheth them not.
२३तुमचे सरदार बंडखोर व चोरांचे साथीदार आहेत; प्रत्येकाला लाच घेणे प्रिय आणि नजराण्यांच्या मागे धावणे आवडते. ते अनाथांचे रक्षण करीत नाहीत किंवा विधवांची कायदेशीर दयेची बाजूही घेत नाहीत.
24 Therefore, Declareth the Lord Yahweh of hosts, The Mighty One of Israel, —Alas! I must appease me on mine adversaries, I must avenge me on mine enemies
२४यांकरीताच प्रभू, सेनाधीश परमेश्वर, इस्राएलाचा सामर्थ्यशाली देव हे म्हणतो कीः “त्यांचा नाश होवो! मी माझ्या विरोधकांचा सूड घेईन, आणि माझ्या शत्रू विरूद्ध मी स्वतः बदला घेईन;
25 That I may turn my hand against thee, And smelt away, as with potash, thy dross, And remove all thine alloy;
२५मी तुजविरूद्ध आपला हात वळवून, तुझे शुद्धीकरण करून तुझ्यातील निरुपयोगी गोष्टी काढून सर्व प्रकारची अशुद्धता दूर करीन.
26 That I may restore thy Judges as at the first, and thy Counsellors as at the beginning, —After that, shalt thou be called Righteous citadel, Trusty city, —
२६मी तुझे सर्व न्यायधीश पूर्वी जसे होते तसे करीन, तुझे सर्व सल्लागार सुरवातीस जसे होते तसे करीन, त्यानंतर तुला नीतिमानांची विश्वासू नगरी म्हणतील.”
27 Zion, with justice shall be redeemed, —And her returning ones, with righteousness;
२७सियोनेचा न्यायाने उद्धार होईल व तिच्यातील पश्चातापी लोकांचा धार्मिकतेने उद्धार होईल.
28 And the downfall of transgressors and sinners, shall be, together, —And, they who forsake Yahweh, shall be brought to an end;
२८बंडखोर व पापी यांचा एकत्र चुराडा होईल व ज्यांनी परमेश्वराचा त्याग केला त्यांचाही तसाच चुराडा होईल.
29 For they shall turn pale on account of the oaks which ye desired, —And ye shall blush on account of the gardens which ye had chosen;
२९“तुम्हास पवित्र वाटणाऱ्या एलाच्या झाडाची तुम्हास लाज वाटेल, आणि तुम्ही निवडलेल्या बागा तुम्हास लज्जास्पद होतील.
30 For ye shall be as an oak with its leaf faded, And as a garden that hath no, water;
३०कारण तुम्ही पाने कोमजलेल्या एलाच्या झाडाप्रमाणे, व पाणी नसलेल्या बागेसारखे व्हाल.
31 Then shall the strong one become tow, And his work a spark, —And they shall both blaze together And there be none to quench the fire.
३१बलाढ्य मनुष्य वाळलेल्या झाडाच्या ढिलपीप्रमाणे दुर्बल होईल व त्याची कामे जाळाच्या लहानशा ठिणगीसारखी राहतील; ती दोन्ही एकत्र जाळण्यात येतील, तो त्यास कोणीही विझवणार नाही.”
