Isaiah 9
1 For there is no gloom to her who had been in anguish, In the former time, he brought into dishonour The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, In the latter time, hath he brought into honour The Lake-way over the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
എന്നാൽ കഷ്ടതയിലായിരുന്ന ജനത്തിന്റെമേൽ ഇനിയൊരിക്കലും അന്ധകാരം ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല. മുൻകാലത്ത് അവിടന്ന് സെബൂലൂൻ ദേശത്തോടും നഫ്താലി ദേശത്തോടും നിന്ദയോടെ പെരുമാറി; എന്നാൽ പിൽക്കാലത്ത് കടൽക്കരെ, യോർദാനക്കരെ, ജനതകൾ വസിക്കുന്ന ഗലീലാദേശത്തിന് അവിടന്നു മഹത്ത്വം വരുത്തും.
2 the people who were walking in darkness, Have seen a great light, —The dwellers in a land death-shadowed, A light, hath shined upon them.
ഇരുട്ടിൽ നടന്ന ജനം വലിയൊരു പ്രഭ ദർശിച്ചു; കൂരിരുട്ടിന്റെ ദേശത്തു താമസിച്ചവരുടെമേൽ ഒരു പ്രകാശം ഉദിച്ചു.
3 Thou hast increased the exultation Thou hast made great the joy, —They joy before thee, according to the joy of harvest, As men exult when they distribute spoil.
അങ്ങ് രാഷ്ട്രം വിസ്തൃതമാക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ആനന്ദം അധികമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്ത് ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും കൊള്ള പങ്കിടുമ്പോൾ യോദ്ധാക്കൾ ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും അവർ അങ്ങയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
4 For, the yoke of their burden, The cross-bar of their shoulder, The goad of their driver, Hast thou broken, as in the day of Midian.
അവരുടെ ഭാരമുള്ള നുകവും അവരുടെ ചുമലിലെ നുകക്കോലും അവരെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവരുടെ വടിയും മിദ്യാന്റെകാലത്ത് എന്നപോലെ അങ്ങ് ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
5 Surely, every boot of one tramping in tumult, and the war-cloak rolled in blood Then shall serve for burning, food for fire;
യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഉപയോഗിച്ച എല്ലാ യോദ്ധാക്കളുടെയും ചെരിപ്പും രക്തംപുരണ്ട ഓരോ അങ്കിയും അഗ്നിക്ക് ഇന്ധനമായി എരിഞ്ഞടങ്ങും.
6 For, A Child, hath been born to us, A Son, hath been given to us, And the dominion is upon his shoulder, —And his Name hath been called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty GOD, Father of Futurity, Prince of Prosperity.
എന്തെന്നാൽ നമുക്ക് ഒരു ശിശു ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, നമുക്ക് ഒരു മകൻ നൽകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, ആധിപത്യം അവന്റെ തോളിലായിരിക്കും. അവൻ ഇപ്രകാരം വിളിക്കപ്പെടും: അത്ഭുതമന്ത്രി, ശക്തനായ ദൈവം, നിത്യപിതാവ്, സമാധാനപ്രഭു.
7 Of the increase of dominion, and of prosperity, There shall be no end—Upon the throne of David and Upon his kingdom, By establishing it and By sustaining it, With justice and With righteousness, —From henceforth, Even unto times age-abiding: The jealousy of Yahweh of hosts, will perform this!
അവിടത്തെ ആധിപത്യത്തിന്റെ വർധനയ്ക്കും സമാധാനത്തിനും അവസാനം ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല. ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ആരൂഢനായി അതിനെ നീതിയോടും ന്യായത്തോടുംകൂടി സ്ഥാപിച്ച് സുസ്ഥിരമാക്കി ദാവീദിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിന്മേൽ ഇന്നുമുതൽ എന്നേക്കും വാഴും. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ തീക്ഷ്ണത ഇതു നിറവേറ്റും.
8 A word, hath My Lord, sent unto Jacob, —And it shall alight on Israel;
കർത്താവ് യാക്കോബിനെതിരേ ഒരു വചനം അയച്ചു; അത് ഇസ്രായേലിന്മേൽ വീഴും.
9 and the people shall all of them know [it] —Ephraim and the dweller in Samaria—Who in pride and insolence of heart, are saying:
“ഇഷ്ടികകൾ വീണുപോയി, എന്നാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ചെത്തിമിനുക്കിയ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടുപണിയും; അത്തിമരങ്ങൾ വെട്ടിവീഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടു, എന്നാൽ അവയ്ക്കുപകരം ഞങ്ങൾ ദേവദാരുക്കൾ നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കും,” എന്ന് അഹങ്കാരത്തോടും ഗർവമുള്ള ഹൃദയത്തോടും സംസാരിക്കുന്ന സകലജനവും—എഫ്രയീമും ശമര്യാനിവാസികളും—അത് അറിയും.
10 Bricks, have fallen down But with hewn stone, will we build, —Sycomores, have been felled, But with cedars, will we replace them.
11 Therefore will Yahweh strengthen the adversaries of Resin against him, —And his enemies will he arouse:
അതിനാൽ യഹോവ രെസീന്റെ എതിരാളികളെ അവർക്കെതിരേ വരുത്തും, അവന്റെ എല്ലാ ശത്രുക്കളെയും ഇളക്കിവിടും.
12 Syrians before and Philistines behind, Thus have they devoured Israel with open mouth, —For all this, hath his anger, not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched.
അരാമ്യർ കിഴക്കും ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ പടിഞ്ഞാറുംതന്നെ അവർ ഇസ്രായേലിനെ വായ് പിളർന്നു വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും. ഇതൊന്നുകൊണ്ടും അവിടത്തെ കോപം നീങ്ങിപ്പോയിട്ടില്ല, അവിടത്തെ കൈ ഇപ്പോഴും ഉയർന്നുതന്നെയിരിക്കുന്നു.
13 Yet, the people, have not turned unto him that smote them, —And Yahweh of hosts, have they not sought.
എന്നിട്ടും ജനം തങ്ങളെ അടിച്ചവനിലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നില്ല, സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
14 Therefore hath Yahweh cut off from Israel—Head and tail Palm-top and rush, In one day.
അതിനാൽ യഹോവ ഇസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു തലയും വാലും പനമ്പട്ടയും ഞാങ്ങണയും ഒരു ദിവസംതന്നെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.
15 The elder and favourite, he, is the head, —And the prophet teaching falsehood, he, is the tail;
ജനത്തിന്റെ നേതാക്കന്മാരും ഉന്നതാധികാരികളും അവരുടെ തലയും വ്യാജം പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാർ അവരുടെ വാലും ആകുന്നു.
16 And they who should have led this people forward have been causing them to stray, —And, they who are led of them are destroyed,
ഈ ജനത്തെ നയിക്കുന്നവർതന്നെ അവരെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുന്നു, അവർ നയിച്ച ജനം നശിച്ചുപോകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
17 For this cause, over their choice young men, will My Lord not rejoice, And on their fatherless and their widows, will he not have compassion, For every one of them, is profane and an evildoer, And, every mouth is speaking baseness, —For all this, hath his anger, not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched.
അതിനാൽ യഹോവ അവരുടെ യുവാക്കന്മാരിൽ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നില്ല, അവരുടെ അനാഥരോടും വിധവകളോടും അവിടത്തേക്ക് സഹതാപം തോന്നുന്നതുമില്ല. കാരണം അവരെല്ലാവരും അഭക്തരും ദുഷ്ടരുമാണ്; എല്ലാ വായും ഭോഷത്തം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതൊന്നുകൊണ്ടും അവിടത്തെ കോപം നീങ്ങിപ്പോയിട്ടില്ല, അവിടത്തെ കൈ ഇപ്പോഴും ഉയർന്നുതന്നെയിരിക്കുന്നു.
18 For lawlessness, hath consumed like fire, Briars and thorns, doth it devour, —Yea it hath kindled upon the thickets of the forest, And they have rolled up as a column of smoke.
ദുഷ്ടത തീപോലെ ജ്വലിക്കുന്നു, നിശ്ചയം; അത് മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. അതു വനത്തിലെ കുറ്റിക്കാടുകൾക്കു തീ കൊടുക്കുന്നു, അതുകൊണ്ട് അവ പുകത്തൂണായി കറങ്ങിമറിഞ്ഞു മേലോട്ട് ഉയരുന്നു.
19 Through the wrath of Yahweh of hosts, is the land consumed, —And the people have come to be, as fuel for fire, A man unto his own brother, sheweth not pity;
സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ കോപംനിമിത്തം ദേശം വരണ്ടുണങ്ങും; ജനം അഗ്നിക്ക് ഇന്ധനമാകും; ആരുംതന്നെ സഹോദരങ്ങളെ വെറുതേ വിടുകയില്ല.
20 And he hath slain on the right, and yet is hungry, And hath eaten on the left, yet are they not satisfied, —Every one, the flesh of his own arm, will they eat:
അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വലത്തുവശത്തുള്ള അയൽവാസിയെ ആക്രമിക്കും എന്നിട്ടും വിശന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇടത്തുവശത്തുള്ള അയൽവാസിയെ കവർച്ചചെയ്യും, എന്നിട്ടും തൃപ്തിവരുന്നില്ല. ഓരോരുത്തനും അവരവരുടെ ഭുജംതന്നെയും ഭക്ഷിക്കും:
21 Manasseh—Ephraim, and Ephraim—Manasseh, They together—against Judah, —For all this, hath his anger not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched.
മനശ്ശെ എഫ്രയീമിനെയും എഫ്രയീം മനശ്ശെയെയും വിഴുങ്ങുന്നു. അവർ ഒരുമിച്ച് യെഹൂദയ്ക്ക് എതിരായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതൊന്നുകൊണ്ടും അവിടത്തെ കോപം നീങ്ങിപ്പോയിട്ടില്ല, അവിടത്തെ കൈ ഇപ്പോഴും ഉയർന്നുതന്നെയിരിക്കുന്നു.
