Isaiah 60
1 Arise—shine, For thy light, hath come, —And, the glory of Yahweh, on thee, hath beamed;
Stehe auf, leuchte! denn dein Licht ist gekommen, und die Herrlichkeit Jehovas ist über dir aufgegangen.
2 For lo! darkness, covereth the earth, And, deep gloom the peoples, —But, on thee, beameth Yahweh, And, his glory, on thee is seen.
Denn siehe, Finsternis bedeckt die Erde und Dunkel die Völkerschaften; aber über dir strahlt Jehova auf, und seine Herrlichkeit erscheint über dir.
3 So shall nations come to thy light, And kings to the brightness of thy dawning.
Und Nationen wandeln zu deinem Lichte hin, und Könige zu dem Glanze deines Aufgangs.
4 Lift up—round about—thine eyes and see, They all, have gathered themselves together—have come to thee, —Thy sons, from afar shall come, And thy daughters, on the side, shall be carried.
Erhebe ringsum deine Augen und sieh! Sie alle versammeln sich, kommen zu dir: deine Söhne kommen von ferne, und deine Töchter werden auf den Armen [Eig. an der Seite] herbeigetragen. -
5 Then, shalt thou see and be radiant, And thy heart, shall throb and be enlarged, —For there shall be turned upon thee the fulness of the sea, The riches of the nations, shall come unto thee;
Dann wirst du es sehen und vor Freude strahlen, und dein Herz wird beben und weit werden; denn des Meeres Fülle wird sich zu dir wenden, der Reichtum der Nationen zu dir kommen.
6 The multitude of camels, shall cover thee The young camels of Midian and Ephah, All they of Sheba, shall come, —Gold and frankincense, shall they bring, And, the praises of Yahweh, shall they joyfully tell:
Eine Menge Kamele wird dich bedecken, junge Kamele von Midian und Epha. Allesamt werden sie aus Scheba [Jemen, das glückliche Arabien] kommen, Gold und Weihrauch bringen, und sie werden das Lob [O. die Ruhmestaten] Jehovas fröhlich verkündigen.
7 All the flocks of Kedar, shall be gathered unto thee, The rams of Nebaioth, shall wait upon thee, —They shall come up, with acceptance, on mine altar, And my beautiful house, will I adorn.
Alle Herden Kedars werden sich zu dir versammeln, die Widder Nebajoths werden dir zu Diensten stehen: Wohlgefällig werden sie auf meinen Altar kommen; und das Haus meiner Pracht werde ich prächtig machen. -
8 Who are these that, As a cloud, do fly? and, As doves to their cotes?
Wer sind diese, die wie eine Wolke geflogen kommen und gleich Tauben zu ihren Schlägen?
9 Surely for me, shall, Coastlands, wait, And the ships of Tarshish first, To bring in thy sons, from far, Their silver and their gold with them, —Unto the name of Yahweh, thy God, And unto the Holy One of Israel Because he hath adorned thee.
Denn auf mich hoffen die Inseln, und die Schiffe von Tarsis ziehen voran, um deine Kinder aus der Ferne zu bringen, und ihr Silber und ihr Gold mit ihnen, zu dem Namen Jehovas, deines Gottes, und zu dem Heiligen Israels, weil er dich herrlich gemacht hat. -
10 So shall the sons of the foreigner, build thy walls, And their kings, shall wait upon thee, —For in my vexation, I smote thee, But in my favour, have I had compassion upon thee.
Und die Söhne der Fremde werden deine Mauern bauen, und ihre Könige dich bedienen; denn in meinem Grimm habe ich dich geschlagen, aber in meiner Huld habe ich mich deiner erbarmt.
11 So shall thy gates be open—continually, Neither day nor night, shall they be shut, —That they may bring unto thee the riches of the nations, And their kings, be led.
Und deine Tore werden beständig offen stehen; Tag und Nacht werden sie nicht geschlossen werden, um zu dir zu bringen den Reichtum der Nationen und ihre hinweggeführten [O. herbeigetriebenen] Könige.
12 For, the nation and the kingdom that will not serve thee, shall perish, —Yea the nations, shall be utterly wasted.
Denn die Nation und das Königreich, welche dir nicht dienen wollen, werden untergehen, und diese Nationen werden gewißlich vertilgt werden.
13 The glory of Lebanon, unto thee, shall come, The fir-tree the holm-oak, and the sherbin-cedar, together, To adorn the place of my sanctuary, And the place of my feet, will I make glorious.
Die Herrlichkeit des Libanon wird zu dir kommen, Cypresse, Platane und Scherbinceder miteinander, um die Stätte meines Heiligtums zu schmücken; und ich werde herrlich machen die Stätte meiner Füße.
14 Then shall come unto thee bending low, The sons of them who had humbled thee, Then shall bow down, unto the soles of thy feet, All they who had despised thee; And they shall call thee—The city of Yahweh, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Und gebeugt werden zu dir kommen die Kinder deiner Bedrücker, und alle deine Schmäher werden niederfallen zu den Sohlen deiner Füße; und sie werden dich nennen: Stadt Jehovas, Zion des Heiligen Israels.
15 Instead of thy being forsaken and hated so that none used to pass through thee, I will make of thee—An excellency age-abiding, The joy of generation after generation.
Statt daß du verlassen warst und gehaßt, und niemand hindurchzog, will ich dich zum ewigen Stolz machen, zur Wonne von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
16 And thou shalt derive sweet nourishment from the nations, Yea on the bounty of kings, shalt thou be sustained, —So shalt thou know—That, I, Yahweh, am thy Saviour, and That, thy Redeemer, is the Mighty One of Jacob.
Und du wirst saugen die Milch der Nationen, und saugen an der Brust der Könige; und du wirst erkennen, [O. erfahren] daß ich, Jehova, dein Heiland bin, und ich, der Mächtige Jakobs, dein Erlöser.
17 Instead of bronze, I will bring in, gold, and Instead of iron, I will bring in silver, and Instead of wood, bronze, and Instead of stones, iron, —And I will appoint the oversight of thee to Prosperity, And the setting of thy tasks to Righteousness.
Statt des Erzes werde ich Gold bringen, und statt des Eisens Silber bringen, und statt des Holzes Erz, und statt der Steine Eisen. Und ich werde den Frieden setzen zu deinen Aufsehern, und die Gerechtigkeit zu deinen Vögten.
18 Violence, shall no more be heard, in thy land, Wasting nor destruction within thy boundaries, —But thou shalt call Thy walls, Victory, and Thy gates, Praise.
Nicht wird man ferner von Gewalttat hören in deinem Lande, von Verheerung und Zertrümmerung in deinen Grenzen; sondern deine Mauern wirst du Heil nennen, und deine Tore Ruhm.
19 Thou shalt no more have the sun, for light by day, neither for brightness, shall the moon, give light unto thee, —But Yahweh shall become thine age-abiding light, And thy God thine adorning:
Nicht wird ferner die Sonne dir zum Licht sein bei Tage, noch zur Helle der Mond dir scheinen; sondern Jehova wird dir zum ewigen Licht sein, und dein Gott zu deinem Schmuck.
20 No more shall go in, thy sun, Nor thy moon, withdraw itself, —For, Yahweh, will become to thee an age-abiding light, So shall be ended the days of thy mourning.
Nicht wird ferner deine Sonne untergehen, noch dein Mond sich zurückziehen; [O. verschwinden] denn Jehova wird dir zum ewigen Licht sein. Und die Tage deines Trauerns werden ein Ende haben.
21 And, thy people, shall all of them, be righteous, To times age-abiding, shall they possess, the land, —The sprout of mine own planting, The work of mine own hands, —That I may get myself glory.
Und dein Volk, sie alle werden Gerechte sein, werden das Land besitzen auf ewig, sie, ein Sproß meiner Pflanzungen, ein Werk meiner Hände, zu meiner Verherrlichung.
22 The little one, shall become a thousand, and the small one, a mighty nation: I—Yahweh, in its own season, will hasten it.
Der Kleinste wird zu einem Tausend werden, und der Geringste zu einer gewaltigen Nation. Ich, Jehova, werde es zu seiner Zeit eilends ausführen.
