Isaiah 56

1 Thus, saith Yahweh, Observe ye justice, And execute righteousness, —For near, is My salvation, to come in, and My righteousness to be revealed.

خداوند به قوم خود چنین می‌گوید: «با انصاف رفتار کنید و آنچه را که راست و درست است انجام دهید، زیرا به‌زودی می‌آیم تا شما را آزاد سازم.

2 How happy the frail man, who doeth this! Yea the son of the earth-born who firmly graspeth it! Keeping the sabbath lest he profane it, and Keeping his own hand from doing any wrong.

من کسانی را که حرمت روز”شَبّات“را نگاه می‌دارند و از انجام دادن هر کار بدی دوری می‌کنند، برکت خواهم داد.»

3 And let not the son of the foreigner, who hath joined himself unto Yahweh, speak, saying, Yahweh, will separate, me from his people, Neither let the eunuch, say, Lo! I, am a tree dried up!

قومهای غیریهود نیز وقتی خداوند را بپذیرند، از برکت او برخوردار خواهند شد. پس ایشان نگویند: «خداوند ما را از قوم خود نمی‌داند.» همچنین مردانی که نمی‌توانند صاحب فرزند شوند گمان نکنند که از قوم خدا جدا هستند؛

4 For thus, saith Yahweh—Of the eunuchs, Who shall keep my sabbaths, And choose what I delight in, —And lay firm hold on my covenant,

زیرا خداوند دربارهٔ آنها می‌گوید: «اگر ایشان حرمت روز شَبّات را نگه دارند و آنچه را که مورد پسند من است بجا آورند و به عهد من وفادار بمانند،

5 That I will give unto them—In my house, And within my walls, A sign and a name, better than sons and daughters, —A name age-abiding, will I give him, which shall not be cut off.

آنگاه نام ایشان در خانهٔ من و در میان قوم من تا ابد به یادگار خواهد ماند و نامی پر افتخارتر از نام کسانی خواهد بود که صاحب فرزند هستند.»

6 And, as for the sons of the foreigner—Who have joined themselves unto Yahweh To wait upon him, and To love the name of Yahweh, To become his for servants, —Every one who keepeth the sabbath, lest he profane it. And who, layeth firm hold on my covenant,

همچنین خداوند در مورد قومهای غیریهود که به قوم او ملحق می‌شوند و او را خدمت می‌کنند، و او را دوست داشته، خدمتگزار او می‌شوند، چنین می‌گوید: «اگر حرمت روز شَبّات را نگاه دارند و به عهد من وفادار بمانند،

7 Surely I will bring them into my holy mountain And make them joyful in my house of prayer, Their ascending-offerings and their sacrifices, being accepted upon mine altar, —For, my house, a house of prayer, shall be called, for all the peoples!

ایشان را نیز به کوه مقدّس خود خواهم آورد و در خانهٔ عبادتم ایشان را شاد خواهم ساخت و قربانیها و هدایای ایشان را قبول خواهم کرد. خانهٔ من خانهٔ دعا برای همهٔ قومها خوانده خواهد شد.»

8 Declareth My Lord, Yahweh, Who is gathering the outcasts of Israel: —Yet others, will I gather unto him Besides his own gathered ones.

خداوند که بنی‌اسرائیل را از تبعید به وطن باز می‌گرداند، می‌فرماید: «علاوه بر قوم خود اسرائیل، قومهای دیگر را نیز جمع کرده، به اسرائیل خواهم آورد.»

9 All ye beasts of the field! come ye to devour, All ye beasts in the forest.

خداوند به قومهای بیگانه دستور می‌دهد که مانند حیوانات درنده به قوم او حمله کنند و آنان را بدرند.

10 His watchmen, are blind None of them, know, All of them, are dumb dogs, they cannot bark, —Dreaming, sleeping, loving to slumber.

او می‌گوید: «رهبران اسرائیل که می‌بایست قوم مرا از خطر آگاه سازند، خود کور هستند و فهم ندارند. مانند سگهای گله‌ای هستند که هنگام خطر پارس نمی‌کنند؛ فقط دوست دارند دراز بکشند و بخوابند.

11 And, the dogs, are greedy they know not to be satisfied. Yea, they, are shepherds who know not to discern, —All of them unto their own way, have turned, Every man to his unjust gain, on every hand:

سگهای حریصی هستند که هرگز سیر نمی‌شوند. این رهبران قوم، فهم و شعور ندارند. هر چه دلشان می‌خواهد می‌کنند و فقط دنبال سود خود هستند.

12 Come ye! I will fetch wine Let us fill ourselves with strong drink, —And like this day, shall, to-morrow be—Great beyond measure!

آنها می‌گویند:”بیایید شراب بیاوریم و بنوشیم و مست شویم. زندگی همین است. فردا روز بهتری خواهیم داشت!“»
