Isaiah 56
1 Thus, saith Yahweh, Observe ye justice, And execute righteousness, —For near, is My salvation, to come in, and My righteousness to be revealed.
Yahvé dit: « Maintenir la justice et faire ce qui est juste, car mon salut est proche et ma justice sera bientôt révélée.
2 How happy the frail man, who doeth this! Yea the son of the earth-born who firmly graspeth it! Keeping the sabbath lest he profane it, and Keeping his own hand from doing any wrong.
Béni soit l'homme qui fait cela, et le fils de l'homme qui la retient; qui garde le sabbat sans le profaner et empêche sa main de faire le mal. »
3 And let not the son of the foreigner, who hath joined himself unto Yahweh, speak, saying, Yahweh, will separate, me from his people, Neither let the eunuch, say, Lo! I, am a tree dried up!
Que l'étranger qui s'est uni à Yahvé ne parle pas en disant, « Yahvé me séparera de son peuple. » Ne laissez pas l'eunuque dire: « Voici, je suis un arbre sec. »
4 For thus, saith Yahweh—Of the eunuchs, Who shall keep my sabbaths, And choose what I delight in, —And lay firm hold on my covenant,
Car Yahvé dit: « Aux eunuques qui observent mes sabbats, choisir les choses qui me plaisent, et attachez-vous à mon alliance,
5 That I will give unto them—In my house, And within my walls, A sign and a name, better than sons and daughters, —A name age-abiding, will I give him, which shall not be cut off.
Je leur donnerai dans ma maison et dans mes murs un souvenir et un nom meilleurs que ceux des fils et des filles. Je leur donnerai un nom éternel qui ne sera pas supprimé.
6 And, as for the sons of the foreigner—Who have joined themselves unto Yahweh To wait upon him, and To love the name of Yahweh, To become his for servants, —Every one who keepeth the sabbath, lest he profane it. And who, layeth firm hold on my covenant,
De même, les étrangers qui s'attachent à Yahvé pour le servir, et d'aimer le nom de Yahvé, pour être ses serviteurs, tous ceux qui observent le sabbat ne le profanent pas, et tient fermement mon alliance,
7 Surely I will bring them into my holy mountain And make them joyful in my house of prayer, Their ascending-offerings and their sacrifices, being accepted upon mine altar, —For, my house, a house of prayer, shall be called, for all the peoples!
Je les amènerai sur ma montagne sainte, et les rendre joyeux dans ma maison de prière. Leurs holocaustes et leurs sacrifices seront acceptés sur mon autel; car ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière pour tous les peuples. »
8 Declareth My Lord, Yahweh, Who is gathering the outcasts of Israel: —Yet others, will I gather unto him Besides his own gathered ones.
Le Seigneur Yahvé, qui rassemble les exclus d'Israël, dit, « Je vais encore en rassembler d'autres auprès de lui, en plus des siens qui sont réunis. »
9 All ye beasts of the field! come ye to devour, All ye beasts in the forest.
Vous tous, animaux des champs, venir pour dévorer, tous les animaux de la forêt.
10 His watchmen, are blind None of them, know, All of them, are dumb dogs, they cannot bark, —Dreaming, sleeping, loving to slumber.
Ses gardiens sont aveugles. Ils sont tous sans connaissance. Ce sont tous des chiens muets. Ils ne peuvent pas aboyer... rêver, s'allonger, aimer s'assoupir.
11 And, the dogs, are greedy they know not to be satisfied. Yea, they, are shepherds who know not to discern, —All of them unto their own way, have turned, Every man to his unjust gain, on every hand:
Oui, les chiens sont gourmands. Ils n'en ont jamais assez. Ce sont des bergers qui ne peuvent pas comprendre. Ils se sont tous tournés vers leur propre voie, chacun à son profit, de tous les côtés.
12 Come ye! I will fetch wine Let us fill ourselves with strong drink, —And like this day, shall, to-morrow be—Great beyond measure!
« Viens, disent-ils, je vais chercher du vin, et nous nous remplirons de boissons fortes; et demain sera comme aujourd'hui, grand au-delà de toute mesure. »
