Isaiah 48
1 Hear ye this—O house of Jacob, Ye who call yourselves by the name of Israel, Yea from the waters of Judah, came they forth, —Who swear by the name of Yahweh, And, by the God of Israel, call to remembrance—Not in truth, nor in righteousness;
ये बात सुनो ऐ या'क़ूब के घराने जो इस्राईल के नाम से कहलाते हो और यहूदाह के चश्मे से निकले हो, जो ख़ुदावन्द का नाम लेकर क़सम खाते हो, और इस्राईल के ख़ुदा का इक़रार करते हो, बल्कि अमानत और सदाक़त से नहीं।
2 For of the holy city, do they call themselves, And on the God of Israel, do they stay themselves, —Yahweh of hosts, is his name.
क्यूँकि वह शहर — ए — क़ुददूस के लोग कहलाते हैं और इस्राईल के ख़ुदा पर तवक्कुल करते हैं जिसका नाम रब्ब — उल — अफ़वाज है।
3 Things in advance, of old, I declared, Yea out of mine own mouth, came they forth, that I might let them be known, —Suddenly, I wrought and they came to pass.
'मैंने पहले से होने वाली बातों की ख़बर दी है हाँ वह मेरे मुंह से निकली मैंने उनको ज़ाहिर किया मैं नागहा उनको 'अमल में लाया और वह ज़हूर में आईं।
4 Because I knew that—Obstinate, thou wast, —And, a sinew of iron, was thy neck, And thy brow, brazen,
चूँकि मैं जानता था कि तू ज़िद्दी है और तेरी गर्दन का पट्ठा लोहे का है और तेरी पेशानी पीतल की है।
5 therefore told I thee—in time past, Ere yet it came, I let thee hear, —Lest thou shouldest say Mine idol wrought them, Yea, my carved image and my molten image, commanded them!
इसलिए मैंने पहले ही से ये बातें तुझे कह सुनाई, और उनके बयान “होने से पहले तुझ पर ज़ाहिर कर दिया; ता न हो कि तू कहे, 'मेरे बुत ने ये काम किया, और मेरे खोदे हुए सनम ने और मेरी ढाली हुई मूरत ने ये बातें फ़रमाईं।”
6 Thou hast heard—see it whole, And will, ye, not tell? I have let thee hear new things—from the present time, Even secrets which ye knew not.
तूने ये सुना है, इसलिए इस सब पर तवज्जुह कर; क्या तुम इसका इक़रार न करोगे? अब मैं तुझे नई चीजें और छिपी बातें, जिनसे तू वाक़िफ़ न था दिखाता हूँ।
7 Now, are they created, and not in time past, And, before to-day, thou hadst not heard of them, —Lest thou shouldest say, Lo! I knew them!
वह अभी ख़ल्क की गई हैं, पहले से नहीं; बल्कि आज से पहले तूने उनको सुना भी न था; ता न हो कि तू कहे, 'देख, मैं जानता था।
8 Nay! thou hadst not heard, Nay! thou hadst not known, Nay! in time past, thine ear, was not opened, —For I knew that thou, wouldst be treacherous, Yea a transgressor from birth, hast thou been called.
हाँ, तूने न सुना न जाना; हाँ, पहले ही से तेरे कान खुले न थे। क्यूँकि मैं जानता था कि तू भी बिल्कुल बेवफ़ा है, और रहम ही से ख़ताकार कहलाता है।
9 For the sake of mine own Name, will I defer mine anger, And for my praise, will I restrain myself towards thee, —So as not to cut thee off.
'मैं अपने नाम की ख़ातिर अपने ग़ज़ब में ताख़ीर करूँगा, और अपने जलाल की ख़ातिर तुझ से बाज़ रहूँगा, कि तुझे काट न डालूँ।
10 Lo! I have refined thee, but not as silver, —I have tested thee, in a smelting-pot of affliction.
देख, मैंने तुझे साफ़ किया, लेकिन चाँदी की तरह नहीं; मैंने मुसीबत की कुठाली से तुझे साफ़ किया।
11 For mine own sake—for mine own sake, will I effectually work For how should it be profaned? And, my glory—to another, will I not give.
मैंने अपनी ख़ातिर, हाँ, अपनी ही ख़ातिर ये किया है; क्यूँकि मेरे नाम की तक्फ़ीर क्यूँ हो? मैं तो अपनी शौकत दूसरे को नहीं देने का।
12 Hearken unto me O Jacob, And Israel, my called one, —I, am, the Same I, the first, yea, I, the last:
ऐ या'क़ूब, आ मेरी सुन, और ऐ इस्राईल जो मेरा बुलाया हुआ है; मैं वही हूँ, मैं ही अव्वल और मैं ही आख़िर हूँ।
13 Surely, mine own hand, founded the earth, And, my right hand, stretched out the heavens, —While I was calling unto them, they stood forth, at once
यक़ीनन मेरे ही हाथ ने ज़मीन की बुनियाद डाली, और मेरे दहने हाथ ने आसमान को फैलाया; मैं उनको पुकारता हूँ और वह हाज़िर हो जाते हैं।
14 Assemble yourselves—all of you and hear, Who among them, hath told these things? he whom Yahweh loveth, will execute—His pleasure, on Babylon, And his stroke on the Chaldeans.
“तुम सब जमा' होकर सुनो। उनमें किसने इन बातों की ख़बर दी है? वह जिसे ख़ुदावन्द ने पसन्द किया है; उसकी ख़ुशी को बाबुल के मुताल्लिक 'अमल में लाएगा, और उसी का हाथ कसदियों की मुख़ालिफ़त में होगा।
15 I—I, have spoken, Yea I have called him, —I have brought him in, and he shall make prosperous his way.
मैंने, हाँ मैं ही ने कहा; मैंने ही उसे बुलाया, मैं उसे लाया हूँ; और वह अपनी चाल चलन में बरोमन्द होगा।
16 Draw ye near unto me—hear ye this, Not in advance in secret, have I spoken, From the very time it cometh into being, there, am I, —And, now, My Lord Yahweh hath sent me and his spirit.
मेरे नज़दीक आओ और ये सुनो, मैंने शुरू' ही से पोशीदगी में कलाम नहीं किया, जिस वक़्त से कि वह था मैं वहीं था।” और अब ख़ुदावन्द ख़ुदा ने और उसकी रूह ने मुझ को भेजा है।
17 Thus saith Yahweh—Thy Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel, —I—Yahweh, am thy God, Teaching thee to profit, Guiding thee in the way thou shouldest go.
ख़ुदावन्द तेरा फ़िदिया देनेवाला, इस्राईल का क़ुददूस, यूँ फ़रमाता है, कि “मैं ही ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा हूँ। जो तुझे मुफ़ीद ता'लीम देता हूँ और तुझे उस राह में जिसमें तुझे जाना है, ले चलता हूँ।
18 Oh! that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments, —Then had been, like a river, thy prosperity, And, thy righteousness, like the waves of the sea:
काश कि तू मेरे हुक्मों का सुनने वाला होता, और तेरी सलामती नहर की तरह और तेरी सदाक़त समन्दर की मौजों की तरह होती;
19 Then had been, like the sand, thy seed, And, the offspring of thy body, like the grains thereof, —Neither cut off nor destroyed had been his name from before me.
तेरी नस्ल रेत की तरह होती और तेरे सुल्बी फ़र्ज़न्द उसके ज़र्रों की तरह बा — कसरत होते; और उसका नाम मेरे सामने से काटा और मिटाया न जाता।”
20 Come ye forth out of Babylon, Flee from among the Chaldeans, With triumphant voice, tell ye—let this be heard, Let it go forth as far as the end of the earth, —Say ye—Yahweh hath redeemed his servant Jacob!
तुम बाबुल से निकलो, कसदियों के बीच से भागो; नग़मे की आवाज़ से बयान करो इसे मशहूर करों हाँ इसकी ख़बर ज़मीन के किनारों तक पहुँचाओ; कहते जाओ, कि “ख़ुदावन्द ने अपने ख़ादिम या'क़ूब का फ़िदिया दिया।”
21 And they thirsted not, when, through dry places, he led them, Waters out of the rock, caused he to flow out to them, —Yea be cleft a rock and, there gushed out waters:
और जब वह उनको वीराने में से ले गया, तो वह प्यासे न हुए; उसने उनके लिए चटटान में से पानी निकाला, उसने चटटान को चीरा और पानी फूट निकला।
22 No well-being, saith Yahweh to the lawless,
ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, कि “शरीरों के लिए सलामती नहीं।”
