Isaiah 48
1 Hear ye this—O house of Jacob, Ye who call yourselves by the name of Israel, Yea from the waters of Judah, came they forth, —Who swear by the name of Yahweh, And, by the God of Israel, call to remembrance—Not in truth, nor in righteousness;
Ouvi isto, casa de Jacob, que vos chamaes do nome d'Israel, e saistes das aguas de Judah, que juraes pelo nome do Senhor, e fazeis menção do Deus de Israel, porém não em verdade nem em justiça.
2 For of the holy city, do they call themselves, And on the God of Israel, do they stay themselves, —Yahweh of hosts, is his name.
E até da sancta cidade se nomeiam, e se firmam sobre o Deus de Israel; o Senhor dos Exercitos é o seu nome.
3 Things in advance, of old, I declared, Yea out of mine own mouth, came they forth, that I might let them be known, —Suddenly, I wrought and they came to pass.
As coisas passadas já desde então annunciei, e procederam da minha bocca, e eu as fiz ouvir: apressuradamente as fiz, e vieram.
4 Because I knew that—Obstinate, thou wast, —And, a sinew of iron, was thy neck, And thy brow, brazen,
Porque eu sabia que eras duro, e a tua cerviz um nervo de ferro, e a tua testa de bronze.
5 therefore told I thee—in time past, Ere yet it came, I let thee hear, —Lest thou shouldest say Mine idol wrought them, Yea, my carved image and my molten image, commanded them!
Por isso t'o annunciei desde então, e t'o fiz ouvir antes que viesse, para que porventura não dissesses: O meu idolo fez estas coisas, ou a minha imagem de esculptura, ou a minha imagem de fundição as mandou.
6 Thou hast heard—see it whole, And will, ye, not tell? I have let thee hear new things—from the present time, Even secrets which ye knew not.
Já o tens ouvido; olha bem para tudo isto; porventura assim vós o não annunciareis? desde agora te faço ouvir coisas novas e occultas, e que nunca conheceste.
7 Now, are they created, and not in time past, And, before to-day, thou hadst not heard of them, —Lest thou shouldest say, Lo! I knew them!
Agora foram creadas, e não desde então, e antes d'este dia não as ouviste, para que porventura não digas: Eis que já eu as sabia.
8 Nay! thou hadst not heard, Nay! thou hadst not known, Nay! in time past, thine ear, was not opened, —For I knew that thou, wouldst be treacherous, Yea a transgressor from birth, hast thou been called.
Nem tu as ouviste, nem tu as conheceste, nem tão pouco desde então foi aberto o teu ouvido, porque eu sabia que obrarias muito perfidamente, e que foste chamado prevaricador desde o ventre.
9 For the sake of mine own Name, will I defer mine anger, And for my praise, will I restrain myself towards thee, —So as not to cut thee off.
Por amor do meu nome dilatarei a minha ira, e por amor do meu louvor me refrearei para comtigo, para que te não venha a cortar.
10 Lo! I have refined thee, but not as silver, —I have tested thee, in a smelting-pot of affliction.
Eis que já te purifiquei, porém não como a prata: escolhi-te na fornalha da afflicção.
11 For mine own sake—for mine own sake, will I effectually work For how should it be profaned? And, my glory—to another, will I not give.
Por amor de mim, por amor de mim o farei, porque como seria profanado o meu nome? e a minha honra não a darei a outrem.
12 Hearken unto me O Jacob, And Israel, my called one, —I, am, the Same I, the first, yea, I, the last:
Dá-me ouvidos, ó Jacob, e tu, ó Israel, a quem chamei; eu sou o mesmo, eu o primeiro, eu tambem o ultimo.
13 Surely, mine own hand, founded the earth, And, my right hand, stretched out the heavens, —While I was calling unto them, they stood forth, at once
Tambem a minha mão fundou a terra, e a minha dextra mediu os céus a palmos; eu os chamarei, e apparecerão juntos.
14 Assemble yourselves—all of you and hear, Who among them, hath told these things? he whom Yahweh loveth, will execute—His pleasure, on Babylon, And his stroke on the Chaldeans.
Ajuntae-vos todos vós, e ouvi: Quem ha, d'entre elles, que annunciasse estas coisas? O Senhor o amou, e executará a sua vontade contra Babylonia, e o seu braço será contra os chaldeos.
15 I—I, have spoken, Yea I have called him, —I have brought him in, and he shall make prosperous his way.
Eu, eu o tenho dito; tambem já eu o chamei, e o farei vir, e farei prospero o seu caminho.
16 Draw ye near unto me—hear ye this, Not in advance in secret, have I spoken, From the very time it cometh into being, there, am I, —And, now, My Lord Yahweh hath sent me and his spirit.
Chegae-vos a mim, ouvi isto: Não fallei em occulto desde o principio, mas desde o tempo em que aquillo se fez eu estava ali, e agora o Senhor Jehovah me enviou o seu Espirito.
17 Thus saith Yahweh—Thy Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel, —I—Yahweh, am thy God, Teaching thee to profit, Guiding thee in the way thou shouldest go.
Assim diz o Senhor, o teu Redemptor, o Sancto de Israel: Eu sou o Senhor, o teu Deus, que te ensina o que é util, e te guia pelo caminho em que deves andar.
18 Oh! that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments, —Then had been, like a river, thy prosperity, And, thy righteousness, like the waves of the sea:
Ah! se déras ouvidos aos meus mandamentos! então seria a tua paz como o rio, e a tua justiça como as ondas do mar.
19 Then had been, like the sand, thy seed, And, the offspring of thy body, like the grains thereof, —Neither cut off nor destroyed had been his name from before me.
Tambem a tua semente seria como a areia, e os que procedem das tuas entranhas como o burgalhão d'ella, cujo nome nunca seria cortado nem destruido da minha face.
20 Come ye forth out of Babylon, Flee from among the Chaldeans, With triumphant voice, tell ye—let this be heard, Let it go forth as far as the end of the earth, —Say ye—Yahweh hath redeemed his servant Jacob!
Sahi de Babylonia, fugi de entre os chaldeos. E annunciae com voz de jubilo; fazei ouvir isso, e levae-o até ao fim da terra: dizei: O Senhor remiu a seu servo Jacob.
21 And they thirsted not, when, through dry places, he led them, Waters out of the rock, caused he to flow out to them, —Yea be cleft a rock and, there gushed out waters:
E não tinham sêde, quando os levava pelos desertos; fez-lhes correr agua da rocha: fendendo elle as rochas, as aguas manavam d'ellas.
22 No well-being, saith Yahweh to the lawless,
Porém os impios não teem paz, disse o Senhor.
