< Isaiah 48 >

1 Hear ye this—O house of Jacob, Ye who call yourselves by the name of Israel, Yea from the waters of Judah, came they forth, —Who swear by the name of Yahweh, And, by the God of Israel, call to remembrance—Not in truth, nor in righteousness;
“Geenụ ntị na nke a, unu agbụrụ Jekọb, unu ndị a na-akpọ nʼaha Izrel, ndị si nʼagbụrụ Juda pụta. Unu ndị na-eji aha Onyenwe anyị na-aṅụ iyi, ndị na-akpọku aha Chineke nke Izrel, ma ọ bụghị nʼeziokwu maọbụ nʼezi omume.
2 For of the holy city, do they call themselves, And on the God of Israel, do they stay themselves, —Yahweh of hosts, is his name.
3 Things in advance, of old, I declared, Yea out of mine own mouth, came they forth, that I might let them be known, —Suddenly, I wrought and they came to pass.
Nʼoge gara aga ka m kwuru ihe na-aga ime nʼoge dị nʼihu. Mgbe m kwupụrụ ya, emekwara m ka ihe ahụ m kwuru mezuo.
4 Because I knew that—Obstinate, thou wast, —And, a sinew of iron, was thy neck, And thy brow, brazen,
Nʼihi na amaara m na unu bụ ndị isiike, matakwa na akwara dị unu nʼolu bụ igwe a na-apụghị ịrọji arọji. Amakwaara m na egedege ihu unu bụ bronz.
5 therefore told I thee—in time past, Ere yet it came, I let thee hear, —Lest thou shouldest say Mine idol wrought them, Yea, my carved image and my molten image, commanded them!
Ọ bụ ya mere m ji buru ụzọ gwa unu nʼoge gara aga ihe m gaje ime, ka unu ghara ị sị, ‘Ọ bụ arụsị anyị mere ya. Ọ bụ arụsị anyị a pịrị apị na chi ọla m nyere iwu ka ha mee!’
6 Thou hast heard—see it whole, And will, ye, not tell? I have let thee hear new things—from the present time, Even secrets which ye knew not.
Unu anụla ama m na-agba, hụkwa ka ha na-emezu, ma unu ajụla ikwere na ọ bụ eziokwu. “Site ugbu a gawa, aga m agwa unu ihe ọhụrụ nke m na-agwabeghị unu na mbụ.
7 Now, are they created, and not in time past, And, before to-day, thou hadst not heard of them, —Lest thou shouldest say, Lo! I knew them!
Ọ bụ ugbu a ka e kere ya, ọ bụghị na mgbe ochie. Unu anụtụbeghị ihe banyere ya mbụ, ya mere, unu agaghị asị, ‘Ọ bụ ihe maara ihe banyere ya.’
8 Nay! thou hadst not heard, Nay! thou hadst not known, Nay! in time past, thine ear, was not opened, —For I knew that thou, wouldst be treacherous, Yea a transgressor from birth, hast thou been called.
E, ị nụbeghị, ị maghịkwa, site na mgbe ochie ntị gị egheghị oghe. Nʼihi na amaara m na ị bụ onye aghụghọ na-ekwesighị ntụkwasị obi, onye a na-akpọ onye nnupu isi site nʼafọ nne ya.
9 For the sake of mine own Name, will I defer mine anger, And for my praise, will I restrain myself towards thee, —So as not to cut thee off.
Ma nʼihi aha m, ka m na-eme ka ọnụma m jụrụ nʼihi otuto m, a na m egbochi ya nʼebe ị nọ, ka a ghara ikpochapụ unu kpamkpam.
10 Lo! I have refined thee, but not as silver, —I have tested thee, in a smelting-pot of affliction.
11 For mine own sake—for mine own sake, will I effectually work For how should it be profaned? And, my glory—to another, will I not give.
Nʼihi mụ onwe m, e, nʼihi mụ onwe m, ka m na-eme nke a.
12 Hearken unto me O Jacob, And Israel, my called one, —I, am, the Same I, the first, yea, I, the last:
“Geenụ m ntị, gị Jekọb, na gị Izrel onye m kpọrọ. Mụ onwe m bụ onye ahụ; Abụ m onye mbụ, bụrụkwa onye ikpeazụ.
13 Surely, mine own hand, founded the earth, And, my right hand, stretched out the heavens, —While I was calling unto them, they stood forth, at once
Ọ bụ aka m tọrọ ntọala ụwa. Ọ bụkwa aka nri m gbasara eluigwe. Mgbe m kpọrọ ha oku ha na-abịa guzo nʼihu m.
14 Assemble yourselves—all of you and hear, Who among them, hath told these things? he whom Yahweh loveth, will execute—His pleasure, on Babylon, And his stroke on the Chaldeans.
“Chịkọtaanụ onwe unu, unu niile, geenụ ntị. Onye nʼetiti arụsị ndị a gosiri ihe ndị a na-aga ime? Onye ahụ Onyenwe anyị họọrọ ka ya na ya dị na mma ga-emezu nzube ya megide Babilọn, aka ya ga-emegide ndị Kaldịa.
15 I—I, have spoken, Yea I have called him, —I have brought him in, and he shall make prosperous his way.
Mụ onwe m, ọ bụladị mụ onwe m ekwuola ya; e, akpọọla m ya. Aga m eme ka ọbịa nʼije ya, ọ ga-agakwa nke ọma.
16 Draw ye near unto me—hear ye this, Not in advance in secret, have I spoken, From the very time it cometh into being, there, am I, —And, now, My Lord Yahweh hath sent me and his spirit.
“Bịakwutenụ m nso, geenụ ntị na nke a: “Site na mkpọsa mbụ ọ bụghị na nzuzo ka m kwuru okwu; mgbe o mere anọ m nʼebe ahụ.” Ma ugbu a, Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị ezitela m, o mejupụtala m na Mmụọ ya.
17 Thus saith Yahweh—Thy Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel, —I—Yahweh, am thy God, Teaching thee to profit, Guiding thee in the way thou shouldest go.
Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị sịrị, Onye mgbapụta unu, bụ Onye nsọ Izrel, “Mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị, onye na-ezi unu ihe nʼihi ọdịmma unu, na-eduzikwa unu nʼụzọ unu kwesiri iso.
18 Oh! that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments, —Then had been, like a river, thy prosperity, And, thy righteousness, like the waves of the sea:
A sịkwarị na unu ṅara ntị nʼiwu m niile, udo unu gaara na-eru dịka osimiri, ọdịmma unu adịkwa ka mmali nke ebili oke osimiri.
19 Then had been, like the sand, thy seed, And, the offspring of thy body, like the grains thereof, —Neither cut off nor destroyed had been his name from before me.
Mkpụrụ gị gaara amụba dịka aja, ụmụ unu gaara a dị ka mkpụrụ ọkụkụ a na-enweghị ike ịgụta ọnụ, a gaghị ehichapụkwa aha ha, maọbụ bibie nʼihu ha.”
20 Come ye forth out of Babylon, Flee from among the Chaldeans, With triumphant voice, tell ye—let this be heard, Let it go forth as far as the end of the earth, —Say ye—Yahweh hath redeemed his servant Jacob!
Sitenụ na Babilọn pụọ, gbanarịnụ ndị Kaldịa! Werenụ olu iti mkpu ọṅụ kwusaa inwere onwe unu a.
21 And they thirsted not, when, through dry places, he led them, Waters out of the rock, caused he to flow out to them, —Yea be cleft a rock and, there gushed out waters:
Mgbe O duuru ndị ya jee ije nʼọzara, ala kpọrọ nkụ, akpịrị akpọghị ha nkụ. O mere ka mmiri si nʼoke nkume sọpụtara ha, e, ọ kpọwara oke nkume mee ka mmiri sọpụta.
22 No well-being, saith Yahweh to the lawless,
Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “Ọ dịghị udo dịrị ndị na-emebi iwu.”
