Isaiah 48
1 Hear ye this—O house of Jacob, Ye who call yourselves by the name of Israel, Yea from the waters of Judah, came they forth, —Who swear by the name of Yahweh, And, by the God of Israel, call to remembrance—Not in truth, nor in righteousness;
૧હે યાકૂબનાં સંતાનો, આ સાંભળો, જેઓને ઇઝરાયલના નામથી બોલવવામાં આવ્યા છે અને યહૂદિયાના ઝરાથી નીકળી આવેલા છો; તમે જેઓ યહોવાહના નામે સમ ખાઓ છો અને ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વરને આહવાન આપો છો, પણ નિષ્ઠાપૂર્વક કે ન્યાયની રીતે નહિ.
2 For of the holy city, do they call themselves, And on the God of Israel, do they stay themselves, —Yahweh of hosts, is his name.
૨કેમ કે તેઓ પોતાને પવિત્ર નગરના લોકો કહેવડાવે છે અને ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર પર ભરોસો રાખે છે; જેનું નામ સૈન્યોના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ છે.
3 Things in advance, of old, I declared, Yea out of mine own mouth, came they forth, that I might let them be known, —Suddenly, I wrought and they came to pass.
૩મેં અગાઉની બિનાઓને પ્રગટ કરી હતી; તે મારા મુખેથી નીકળી હતી અને મેં તેઓને જાહેર કરી હતી; પછી મેં અચાનક તે પૂરી કરી અને તેઓ તેમાંથી પસાર થયા.
4 Because I knew that—Obstinate, thou wast, —And, a sinew of iron, was thy neck, And thy brow, brazen,
૪કારણ કે મને ખબર છે કે તમે હઠીલા હતા, તાર ગળાના સ્નાયુઓ લોખંડ જેવા અને તારું કપાળ પિત્તળ જેવું છે.
5 therefore told I thee—in time past, Ere yet it came, I let thee hear, —Lest thou shouldest say Mine idol wrought them, Yea, my carved image and my molten image, commanded them!
૫તેથી મેં તમને પુરાતન કાળથી જાહેર કર્યું હતું; તે થયા પહેલાં મેં અગાઉથી તમને કહી સંભળાવ્યું હતું, જેથી તમે કહી ના શકો કે, “મારી મૂર્તિએ તેઓને આ કર્યુ છે,” અથવા “મારી કોરેલી મૂર્તિએ તથા ઢાળેલી મૂર્તિએ તે ફરમાવ્યાં છે.”
6 Thou hast heard—see it whole, And will, ye, not tell? I have let thee hear new things—from the present time, Even secrets which ye knew not.
૬તમે તે સાંભળ્યું છે; આ સર્વ પુરાવા જુઓ; અને શું તમે એ સ્વીકારશો નહિ કે મેં જે કહ્યું તે સત્ય છે? હવેથી હું તમને નવી અને ગુપ્ત રાખેલી બિનાઓ કે જે તમે જાણી નથી, તે તમને કહી સંભળાવું છું.
7 Now, are they created, and not in time past, And, before to-day, thou hadst not heard of them, —Lest thou shouldest say, Lo! I knew them!
૭હમણાં, તે ઉત્પન્ન થઈ છે, અગાઉથી તે નહોતી અને આજ સુધી તેં તે સાંભળી પણ નહોતી, તેથી તું એમ કહી શકીશ નહિ, “હા, હું તે જાણતો હતો.”
8 Nay! thou hadst not heard, Nay! thou hadst not known, Nay! in time past, thine ear, was not opened, —For I knew that thou, wouldst be treacherous, Yea a transgressor from birth, hast thou been called.
૮વળી તેં કદી સાંભળ્યું નહિ; તેં જાણ્યું નહિ; તારા કાન આ બાબતો વિષે અગાઉથી ઊઘડ્યા નહિ. કેમ કે હું જાણતો હતો કે તું તદ્દન કપટી અને જન્મથી તું બંડખોર છે.
9 For the sake of mine own Name, will I defer mine anger, And for my praise, will I restrain myself towards thee, —So as not to cut thee off.
૯મારા નામની ખાતર હું મારો કોપ મુલતવી રાખીશ અને મારા સન્માનની ખાતર હું તારો નાશ કરવામાં ધીરજ રાખીશ.
10 Lo! I have refined thee, but not as silver, —I have tested thee, in a smelting-pot of affliction.
૧૦જુઓ, મેં તને ચોખ્ખો કર્યો છે, પણ ચાંદીની માફક નહિ; મેં તને વિપત્તિરૂપી ભઠ્ઠીમાં શુદ્ધ કર્યો છે.
11 For mine own sake—for mine own sake, will I effectually work For how should it be profaned? And, my glory—to another, will I not give.
૧૧મારા પોતાની ખાતર, મારા પોતાની ખાતર હું તે કાર્ય કરીશ; કેમ કે હું કેવી રીતે મારું નામ અપમાનિત થવાની મંજૂરી આપી શકું? હું મારો મહિમા બીજા કોઈને આપીશ નહિ.
12 Hearken unto me O Jacob, And Israel, my called one, —I, am, the Same I, the first, yea, I, the last:
૧૨હે યાકૂબ અને મારા બોલાવેલા ઇઝરાયલ, મારું સાંભળો: હું તે જ છું; હું જ પ્રથમ, હું જ છેલ્લો છું.
13 Surely, mine own hand, founded the earth, And, my right hand, stretched out the heavens, —While I was calling unto them, they stood forth, at once
૧૩હા, મારે હાથે પૃથ્વીનો પાયો નાખ્યો અને મારે જમણે હાથે આકાશોને પ્રસાર્યાં; જ્યારે હું તેઓને બોલાવું છું ત્યારે તેઓ એકસાથે ઊભા થાય છે.
14 Assemble yourselves—all of you and hear, Who among them, hath told these things? he whom Yahweh loveth, will execute—His pleasure, on Babylon, And his stroke on the Chaldeans.
૧૪તમે સર્વ એકત્ર થાઓ અને સાંભળો; તમારામાંથી કોણે આ બાબતો જાહેર કરી છે? યહોવાહના સાથીઓ બાબિલ વિરુદ્ધ તેનો હેતુ પૂરો કરશે. તે ખાલદીઓ વિરુદ્ધ યહોવાહની ઇચ્છા પૂર્ણ કરશે.
15 I—I, have spoken, Yea I have called him, —I have brought him in, and he shall make prosperous his way.
૧૫હું, હા, હું જ તે બોલ્યો છું, મેં તેને બોલાવ્યો છે, હું તેને લાવ્યો છું અને તે સફળ થશે.
16 Draw ye near unto me—hear ye this, Not in advance in secret, have I spoken, From the very time it cometh into being, there, am I, —And, now, My Lord Yahweh hath sent me and his spirit.
૧૬મારી પાસે આવો, આ સાંભળો; પ્રારંભથી હું ગુપ્તમાં બોલ્યો નથી; તે થયું ત્યારથી હું ત્યાં છું; અને હવે પ્રભુ યહોવાહે મને અને તેમના આત્માને મોકલ્યા છે.
17 Thus saith Yahweh—Thy Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel, —I—Yahweh, am thy God, Teaching thee to profit, Guiding thee in the way thou shouldest go.
૧૭તારો ઉદ્ધાર કરનાર યહોવાહ, ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્ર આ કહે છે: “હું યહોવાહ તારો ઈશ્વર છું, જે તને સફળ કેવી રીતે થવું તે તને શીખવું છું. તારે જે માર્ગે જવું જોઈએ તે પર હું તને લઈ જાઉં છું.
18 Oh! that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments, —Then had been, like a river, thy prosperity, And, thy righteousness, like the waves of the sea:
૧૮જો તેં મારી આજ્ઞાઓ પાળી હોત તો કેવું સારું! પછી તારી શાંતિ અને સમૃદ્ધિ એક નદીની જેવી વહેતી હોત અને તારો ઉદ્ધાર સમુદ્રનાં મોજાં જેવો થાત.
19 Then had been, like the sand, thy seed, And, the offspring of thy body, like the grains thereof, —Neither cut off nor destroyed had been his name from before me.
૧૯તારાં વંશજો રેતી જેટલા અસંખ્ય અને તારા પેટના સંતાન રેતીના કણ જેટલાં અસંખ્ય થાત; તેઓનું નામ મારી સંમુખથી નાબૂદ થાત નહિ કે મારી આગળથી કપાઈ જાત નહિ.
20 Come ye forth out of Babylon, Flee from among the Chaldeans, With triumphant voice, tell ye—let this be heard, Let it go forth as far as the end of the earth, —Say ye—Yahweh hath redeemed his servant Jacob!
૨૦બાબિલમાંથી બહાર નીકળો, ખાલદીઓની પાસેથી નાસી જાઓ! હર્ષનાદના અવાજથી આ જાહેર કરો! આ વાત પ્રગટ કરો, પૃથ્વીના છેડા સુધી તેને પ્રગટ કરો અને કહો, “યહોવાહે પોતાના સેવક યાકૂબનો ઉદ્ધાર કર્યો છે.
21 And they thirsted not, when, through dry places, he led them, Waters out of the rock, caused he to flow out to them, —Yea be cleft a rock and, there gushed out waters:
૨૧તે તેઓને રણમાં દોરી લઈ ગયા તો પણ તેઓ તરસ્યા રહ્યા નહિ; તેમણે તેઓને માટે ખડકમાંથી પાણી વહેવડાવ્યું; વળી તેમણે ખડક ફાડ્યો અને પાણી ખળખળ વહ્યું.
22 No well-being, saith Yahweh to the lawless,
૨૨યહોવાહ કહે છે, “દુષ્ટોને કંઈ શાંતિ હોતી નથી.”
