Isaiah 42
1 Lo! my Servant, I will uphold him, My chosen, well-pleased is my soul, —I have put my spirit upon him, Justice—to the nations, will he bring forth:
੧ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਚੁਣਵਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਸੰਨ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
2 He will not cry out nor will he speak loud, —Nor cause to be heard, in the street, his voice:
੨ਉਹ ਨਾ ਚਿੱਲਾਵੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਉੱਚੀ ਚੁੱਕੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਣਾਵੇਗਾ।
3 Cane that is crushed, will he not break, And wick that is fading, will he not quench, —Faithfully, will he bring forth justice:
੩ਉਹ ਕੁਚਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਤੋੜੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਨਿੰਮ੍ਹੀ ਬੱਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਝਾਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
4 He will not fade, nor will he be crushed, Until he establish, in the earth, justice, And for his instruction, Coastlands, wait.
੪ਉਹ ਨਾ ਲੜਖੜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਛੱਡੇਗਾ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, ਅਤੇ ਟਾਪੂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਡੀਕਣਗੇ।
5 Thus, saith GOD himself—Yahweh, —Creator of the heavens that stretched them forth, Out-spreader of earth, and the products thereof, —Giver of breath to the people thereon, And of spirit to them who walk therein,
੫ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੋ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਤਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਜ ਦਾ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹ ਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਦੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
6 I—Yahweh, have called thee in righteousness, And will firmly grasp thy hand, —And will keep thee And give thee—As the covenant of a people, As the light of nations:
੬ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਜਾ ਲਈ ਨੇਮ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਜੋਤ ਠਹਿਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ,
7 To open eyes that are blind, —To bring forth Out of the dungeon the captive Out of the prison, the dwellers in darkness.
੭ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇਂ, ਭੋਹਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢੇਂ।
8 I, am Yahweh, that, is my Name, And, my glory, to another, will I not give, Nor my praise to images.
੮ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ, ਇਹੋ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ।
9 Things told in advance, lo! they have come to pass, —And new things, am I telling, Ere yet they spring forth, I let, you, hear them.
੯ਵੇਖੋ, ਪਹਿਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਰਹੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
10 Sing to Yahweh, a song that is new, His praise, from the end of the earth, —Ye that go down to the sea, and the fulness thereof, The Coastlands and ye who dwell therein.
੧੦ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਓ, ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਹੋ, ਨਾਲੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰੀ, ਟਾਪੂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀ ਵੀ।
11 Let the wilderness shout, and the cities thereof, The villages wherein dwelleth Kedar, —Let the inhabitants of the crag, raise shouts of triumph, From the top of the mountains, let them cry aloud:
੧੧ਉਜਾੜ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਚੁੱਕਣ, ਉਹ ਪਿੰਡ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੇਦਾਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਲਾ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀ ਜੈਕਾਰਾ ਗਜਾਉਣ, ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਸੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਲਲਕਾਰਨ।
12 Let them render unto Yahweh, glory, —And, his praise, in the Coastlands let them tell.
੧੨ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਰਨ, ਅਤੇ ਟਾਪੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ।
13 Yahweh, as a hero, goeth forth, As a man of war, he stirreth up jealousy, —He giveth a cry, yea he raiseth a war-cry, Over his foes, he showeth his strength.
੧੩ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਨਿੱਕਲੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਯੋਧੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਣਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਭਾਰੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਨਾਰਾ ਮਾਰੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਕੂਕ ਮਾਰੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਫ਼ਤਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
14 I have held my peace from age-past times, I kept still, I restrained myself, —As a travailing woman, I pant, I breathe hard and gasp, all at once!
੧੪ਮੈਂ ਚਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਚੁੱਪ ਸਾਧ ਲਈ, ਮੈਂ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਜਣਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਔਰਤ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਚੀਕਾਂ ਮਰਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਉਂਕੇ ਭਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਔਖੇ-ਔਖੇ ਸਾਹ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ।
15 I will lay waste mountains, and hills, And all their vegetation, will I wither, —And I will make rivers to be shores, And lakes, will I dry up:
੧੫ਮੈਂ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਟਿੱਬਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਗ ਪੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਕਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਪੂ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤਲਾਬ ਸੁਕਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
16 Thus will I lead the blind, by a way they know not, In paths they know not, will I guide them, —I will make the place that was dark before them to be, light. And crooked ways, to be, straight, These things, have I done unto them, And have not forsaken them.
੧੬ਮੈਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੋਰਾਂਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣ, ਅਤੇ ਵਿੰਗਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧਿਆਂ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਤਿਆਗਾਂਗਾ।
17 They have drawn back They turn very pale Who have been trusting in a graven image, —Who have been saying to a molten image, Ye, are our gods!
੧੭ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਡਾਢੇ ਲੱਜਿਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਹੋ!”
18 Ye deaf hear! And ye blind look around that ye may see,
੧੮ਹੇ ਬੋਲ੍ਹਿਓ, ਸੁਣੋ! ਹੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਓ, ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਗੌਰ ਕਰੋ!
19 Who is blind if not my Servant? Or deaf, like, my messenger whom I send? Who is, blind, like an intimate friend? Or blind like the Servant of Yahweh?
੧੯ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਣ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ? ਜਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੂਤ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਬੋਲ੍ਹਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਮੇਰੇ ਮੇਲੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਜਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ?
20 Seeing many things, yet thou heedest not, Opening the ears yet he heareth not,
੨੦ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਕੰਨ ਤਾਂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
21 Yahweh, is well-pleased for his own righteousness’ sake, He magnifieth instruction and maketh it majestic.
੨੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਇਆ, ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਡਿਆਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਦੇਵੇ।
22 But, that, is a people preyed upon and plundered, Snared in holes, all of them, And, in houses of restraint, concealed, —They have become a prey, and there is none to deliver, —A booty, and there is none to say—Restore!
੨੨ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਟੋਇਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਕੈਦਖ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁੱਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਛੁਡਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਲੁੱਟ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਦਾ, ਮੋੜ ਦਿਓ!
23 Who among you, will give ear to this, —Let him hearken and hear, for an aftertime?
੨੩ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੰਨ ਲਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ?
24 Who gave, as a booty, Jacob. And, Israel, to them who were ready to take prey? Was it not, Yahweh? He against whom we have sinned, And they were not willing, in his ways, to walk, Neither hearkened they to his instruction?
੨੪ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਟਵਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਟੇਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ? ਭਲਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ? ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ?
25 So he hath poured out, upon him, the glow of his anger, and the strength of battle; And it hath set him aflame round about, yet he knoweth it not, And it hath kindled upon him yet he layeth it not to heart.
੨੫ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੀ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ, ਅਤੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਲਿਓਂ-ਦੁਆਲਿਓਂ ਅੱਗ ਲਾਈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਿਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਾ ਲਾਇਆ।
