Isaiah 42
1 Lo! my Servant, I will uphold him, My chosen, well-pleased is my soul, —I have put my spirit upon him, Justice—to the nations, will he bring forth:
“এই আমার দাস, যাঁকে আমি ধরে রাখি, আমার মনোনীত জন, যাঁর কারণে আমি আনন্দ পাই; আমি তাঁর উপরে আমার আত্মা স্থাপন করব, তিনি জাতিসমূহের জন্য ন্যায়বিচার নিয়ে আসবেন।
2 He will not cry out nor will he speak loud, —Nor cause to be heard, in the street, his voice:
তিনি চিৎকার বা উচ্চশব্দ করবেন না, কিংবা পথে পথে নিজের কণ্ঠস্বর শোনাবেন না।
3 Cane that is crushed, will he not break, And wick that is fading, will he not quench, —Faithfully, will he bring forth justice:
তিনি দলিত নলখাগড়া ভেঙে ফেলবেন না, এবং ধূমায়িত সলতে নির্বাপিত করবেন না। বিশ্বস্ততায় তিনি ন্যায়বিচার আনয়ন করবেন;
4 He will not fade, nor will he be crushed, Until he establish, in the earth, justice, And for his instruction, Coastlands, wait.
তিনি মনোবল হারাবেন না বা হতাশ হবেন না, যতক্ষণ না পৃথিবীতে ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন। দ্বীপপুঞ্জ তাঁর বিধিবিধানে আস্থা রাখবে।”
5 Thus, saith GOD himself—Yahweh, —Creator of the heavens that stretched them forth, Out-spreader of earth, and the products thereof, —Giver of breath to the people thereon, And of spirit to them who walk therein,
সদাপ্রভু ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, সেই সদাপ্রভু, যিনি আকাশমণ্ডল সৃষ্টি করে তা প্রসারিত করেছেন, যিনি পৃথিবী ও তার অভ্যন্তরস্থ সবকিছুই বিছিয়ে দিয়েছেন, যিনি তাঁর লোকেদের মধ্যে শ্বাসবায়ু সঞ্চার করেন ও তার মধ্যে জীবনযাপনকারী সকলকে জীবন দেন:
6 I—Yahweh, have called thee in righteousness, And will firmly grasp thy hand, —And will keep thee And give thee—As the covenant of a people, As the light of nations:
“আমি সদাপ্রভু ধার্মিকতায় তোমাকে আহ্বান করেছি; আমি তোমার হাত ধরে থাকব। আমি তোমাকে রক্ষা করব এবং তোমাকে প্রজাদের জন্য এক চুক্তি এবং অইহুদি জাতিদের জন্য এক জ্যোতিস্বরূপ করব,
7 To open eyes that are blind, —To bring forth Out of the dungeon the captive Out of the prison, the dwellers in darkness.
যেন অন্ধদের দৃষ্টি উন্মোচন করা হয়, কারাগার থেকে বন্দিদের মুক্ত করা হয় এবং যারা কারাকূপের অন্ধকারে বসে থাকে, তাদের মুক্ত করা হয়।
8 I, am Yahweh, that, is my Name, And, my glory, to another, will I not give, Nor my praise to images.
“আমি সদাপ্রভু; এই আমার নাম! আমার মহিমা আমি অন্য কাউকে দেব না, বা আমার প্রশংসা ক্ষোদিত প্রতিমাদের দেব না।
9 Things told in advance, lo! they have come to pass, —And new things, am I telling, Ere yet they spring forth, I let, you, hear them.
দেখো, পূর্বের বিষয়গুলি পূর্ণ হয়েছে এবং নতুন সব বিষয় আমি ঘোষণা করছি; সেগুলি ঘটবার পূর্বেই আমি সেগুলি তোমাদের কাছে ঘোষণা করছি।”
10 Sing to Yahweh, a song that is new, His praise, from the end of the earth, —Ye that go down to the sea, and the fulness thereof, The Coastlands and ye who dwell therein.
সমুদ্রযাত্রী ও সমুদ্রের অভ্যন্তরস্থ সবকিছু, দ্বীপপুঞ্জ ও সেগুলির মধ্যে বসবাসকারী সকলে, তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে এক নতুন গীত গাও, পৃথিবীর প্রান্তসীমা থেকে তাঁর প্রশংসা ধ্বনিত হোক।
11 Let the wilderness shout, and the cities thereof, The villages wherein dwelleth Kedar, —Let the inhabitants of the crag, raise shouts of triumph, From the top of the mountains, let them cry aloud:
মরুভূমি ও তার নগরগুলি তাদের কণ্ঠস্বর তুলুক, কেদরের উপনিবেশগুলিতে বসবাসকারী লোকেরা উল্লসিত হোক। সেলা-র লোকেরা আনন্দে গান করুক; পর্বতশিখরগুলি থেকে তারা চিৎকার করুক।
12 Let them render unto Yahweh, glory, —And, his praise, in the Coastlands let them tell.
তারা সদাপ্রভুকে মহিমা প্রদান করুক, দ্বীপগুলিতে তাঁর প্রশংসা ঘোষণা করুক।
13 Yahweh, as a hero, goeth forth, As a man of war, he stirreth up jealousy, —He giveth a cry, yea he raiseth a war-cry, Over his foes, he showeth his strength.
পরাক্রান্ত বীরের মতো সদাপ্রভু অভিযান করবেন, যোদ্ধার মতোই তাঁর উদ্যম আলোড়িত হবে; রণনাদে তিনি মহা চিৎকার করবেন এবং তাঁর সব শত্রুর উপরে তিনি বিজয়ী হবেন।
14 I have held my peace from age-past times, I kept still, I restrained myself, —As a travailing woman, I pant, I breathe hard and gasp, all at once!
“দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে আমি নিশ্চুপ আছি, আমি শান্ত থেকে নিজেকে দমন করেছি। কিন্তু এখন, প্রসববেদনাতুরা স্ত্রীর মতো, আমি চিৎকার করছি, হাঁপাচ্ছি ও দীর্ঘশ্বাস ফেলছি।
15 I will lay waste mountains, and hills, And all their vegetation, will I wither, —And I will make rivers to be shores, And lakes, will I dry up:
আমি পাহাড় ও পর্বতগুলিকে বৃক্ষহীন করব এবং তাদের সব গাছপালাকে শুকিয়ে ফেলব; আমি নদীগুলিকে দ্বীপপুঞ্জে পরিণত করব ও পুকুরগুলিকে শুকিয়ে ফেলব।
16 Thus will I lead the blind, by a way they know not, In paths they know not, will I guide them, —I will make the place that was dark before them to be, light. And crooked ways, to be, straight, These things, have I done unto them, And have not forsaken them.
আমি অন্ধদের, তাদের অজানা পথে চালাব, অপরিচিত পথগুলিতে আমি তাদের পরিচালিত করব; আমি তাদের সামনে অন্ধকারকে আলোয় পরিণত ও অসমতল স্থানকে মসৃণ করে দেব। আমি এসব কাজ করব; আমি তাদের পরিত্যাগ করব না।
17 They have drawn back They turn very pale Who have been trusting in a graven image, —Who have been saying to a molten image, Ye, are our gods!
কিন্তু যারা প্রতিমাদের উপরে নির্ভর করে, যারা প্রতিমাদের কাছে বলে, ‘তোমরা আমাদের দেবতা,’ চরম লজ্জায় তাদের ফিরিয়ে দেওয়া হবে।
18 Ye deaf hear! And ye blind look around that ye may see,
“ওহে বধির সব, তোমরা শোনো; ওহে যারা অন্ধ, তোমরা দেখতে থাকো!
19 Who is blind if not my Servant? Or deaf, like, my messenger whom I send? Who is, blind, like an intimate friend? Or blind like the Servant of Yahweh?
আমার দাস ছাড়া আর অন্ধ কে? আমার প্রেরিত দূত ছাড়া আর বধির কে? যে আমার প্রতি সমর্পিত, তার থেকে আর অন্ধ কে? সদাপ্রভুর দাসের মতো অন্ধ আর কে আছে?
20 Seeing many things, yet thou heedest not, Opening the ears yet he heareth not,
তুমি অনেক কিছু দেখে থাকলেও কোনো মনোযোগ করোনি; তোমার কান তো খোলা, কিন্তু তুমি কিছুই শুনতে পাও না।”
21 Yahweh, is well-pleased for his own righteousness’ sake, He magnifieth instruction and maketh it majestic.
সদাপ্রভু প্রীত হলেন, তাঁর ধার্মিকতার গুণে তাঁর বিধানকে মহৎ ও গৌরবান্বিত করতে।
22 But, that, is a people preyed upon and plundered, Snared in holes, all of them, And, in houses of restraint, concealed, —They have become a prey, and there is none to deliver, —A booty, and there is none to say—Restore!
কিন্তু এই জাতির লোকেদের লুণ্ঠন করে সবকিছু নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছে, তারা সকলেই গর্তের ফাঁদে পড়েছে অথবা তাদের কারাগারে লুকিয়ে রাখা হয়েছে। তারাই লুণ্ঠনের বস্তু হয়েছে, তাদের উদ্ধারকারী কেউই ছিল না; তাদের লুণ্ঠনের বস্তু করা হয়েছে, কেউ বলে না, “ওদের ফেরত পাঠাও।”
23 Who among you, will give ear to this, —Let him hearken and hear, for an aftertime?
তোমাদের মধ্যে কে একথা শুনবে? মনোযোগ দিয়ে কে ভবিষ্যতের জন্য শুনে রাখবে?
24 Who gave, as a booty, Jacob. And, Israel, to them who were ready to take prey? Was it not, Yahweh? He against whom we have sinned, And they were not willing, in his ways, to walk, Neither hearkened they to his instruction?
কে যাকোবকে লুণ্ঠনের বিষয় হওয়ার জন্য সমর্পণ করেছেন এবং ইস্রায়েলকে লুণ্ঠনকারীদের হাতে সমর্পণ করেছেন? তিনি কি সদাপ্রভু নন, যাঁর বিরুদ্ধে আমরা পাপ করেছি? কারণ তারা তাঁর পথসকলে চলতে চায়নি, তারা তাঁর বিধান মান্য করেনি।
25 So he hath poured out, upon him, the glow of his anger, and the strength of battle; And it hath set him aflame round about, yet he knoweth it not, And it hath kindled upon him yet he layeth it not to heart.
তাই তিনি তাঁর প্রজ্বলিত ক্রোধ, যুদ্ধের হিংস্রতা তাদের উপরে ঢেলে দিয়েছেন। তা তাদের আগুনের শিখায় আবৃত করল, তবুও তারা বুঝতে পারল না; তা তাদের গ্রাস করল, তবুও তারা শিক্ষা নিল না।
