Isaiah 40
1 Comfort ye—comfort ye my people, —Saith your God.
ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸಿರಿ, ಸಂತೈಸಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
2 Speak ye unto the heart of Jerusalem, And cry unto her, —That accomplished is her warfare, That accepted is her punishment, —That she hath received, at the hand of Yahweh, According to the full measure of all her sins.
ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀವು ಮೃದುವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿರಿ. ಅದರ ಕಠಿಣ ಸೇವೆ ತೀರಿತೆಂದೂ, ಅದರ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ, ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿರಿ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಎರಡರಷ್ಟು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾಯಿತು.
3 A voice of one crying!—In the desert, prepare ye the way of Yahweh, —Make smooth in the waste plain a highway for our God:
“ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿರಿ. ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆಮಾಡಿರಿ.
4 Let, every valley, be exalted, And every mountain and hill, be made low, —And, the steep ground become, level, And, the chain of hills—a plain:
ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಕೊಳ್ಳಗಳನ್ನು ಮಟ್ಟಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗುಡ್ಡಗಳು ನೆಲಸಮವಾಗಬೇಕು. ಒರಟಾದ ನೆಲವು ಸಮವಾಗಬೇಕು.
5 Then shall be revealed the glory of Yahweh, —And all flesh shall see it together, For, the mouth of Yahweh, hath spoken!
ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ಗೋಚರವಾಗುವುದು. ಮಾನವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ ಇದನ್ನು ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.”
6 A voice saying Cry! And one said—What should I cry? All flesh, is grass, And, all the grace thereof, like the flower of the field:
ವಾಣಿಯು, “ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗು,” ಎಂದಿತು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ, “ನಾನು ಏನೆಂದು ಕೂಗಲಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, “ನರಜಾತಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವರ ಸೊಬಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊಲದ ಹೂವಿನಂತಿದೆ,
7 The grass hath withered The flower hath faded, Because, the breath of Yahweh, hath blown upon it! Surely the people is grass!
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಶ್ವಾಸವು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಸುವುದರಿಂದ, ಹುಲ್ಲು ಒಣಗಿಹೋಗುವುದು. ಹೂವು ಉದುರಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು. ಮಾನವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹುಲ್ಲೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
8 The grass, hath withered, The flower, hath faded, —But the word of our God, shall stand unto times age-abiding!
ಹುಲ್ಲು ಒಣಗಿಹೋಗುವುದು, ಹೂವು ಬಾಡಿಹೋಗುವುದು. ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವಾದರೋ ಸದಾಕಾಲ ಇರುವುದು,” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರವಾಯಿತು.
9 To a high mountain, get ye up, O herald—band of Zion, Lift high with strength your voice, O herald—band of Jerusalem, —Lift it high, do not fear, Say to the cities of Judah—Lo! your God!
ಶುಭಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಚೀಯೋನೇ, ನೀನು ಉನ್ನತ ಪರ್ವತವನ್ನು ಏರು. ಶುಭಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮೇ, ಬಲವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಧ್ವನಿ ಎತ್ತು, ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ. ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರು!” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು.
10 Lo! My Lord, Yahweh, as a mighty one, doth come, And, his own arm, is about to rule for him, —Lo! his reward, is with him, And, his recompense, before him;
ಇಗೋ, ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಬಲದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬರುವರು. ಅವರ ತೋಳು ತಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಆಳುವುದು. ಅವರ ಬಹುಮಾನವು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಅವರ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಇದೆ.
11 Like a shepherd, his flock, will he tend, In his own arm, will he take up the lambs, And in his own bosom, will he carry [them], —Them which are with young, will he lead to a place of rest.
ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕುರುಬನಂತೆ ಮೇಯಿಸುವರು. ಕುರಿಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಎದೆಗಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು, ಎಳೆಯ ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಲ್ಲಗೆ ನಡಿಸುವರು.
12 Who hath measured, with the hollow of his hand, the waters. Or the heavens with a span, hath meted out, Or hath comprehended, in a measure, the dust of the earth, Or weighed, in scales, the mountains, Or the hills, in a balance?
ಸಮುದ್ರದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಬರಿದಾದ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅಳತೆ ಮಾಡಿದವನೂ, ಆಕಾಶಗಳ ಮೇರೆಯನ್ನು ಗೇಣಿನಿಂದ ಅಳೆದವನೂ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಅಳತೆಮಾಡಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡವನೂ, ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನೂ, ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕಡಿಯಿಂದ ತೂಗಿದವನೂ ಯಾರು?
13 Who hath proved the spirit of Yahweh? Or being his counsellor hath been giving him knowledge?
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಯಾರು? ಸಲಹೆಗಾರನಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದವನು ಯಾರು?
14 With whom hath he taken counsel—And he hath given him intelligence, And instructed him in the path of justice, —And taught him knowledge, And in the way of intelligence, hath been giving him understanding?
ತನಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನ ದೊರೆಯಲು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಯಾರ ವಿಚಾರ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಆತನಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸಿದವನು ಯಾರು? ಆತನಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸಿದವನಾರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದವನಾರು?
15 Lo! nations, Are us a drop on a bucket, And as fine dust on a balance, are accounted, —Lo! islands, like an atom, can he hoist;
ಇಗೋ, ಆತನ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಕಪಿಲೆಯಿಂದ ಉದುರುವ ತುಂತುರಿನಂತೆಯೂ, ತಕ್ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಧೂಳಿನ ಹಾಗೂ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ದ್ವೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅಣುರೇಣುವಿನಂತೆ ಆತನು ಎತ್ತುತ್ತಾನೆ.
16 And, Lebanon, is not sufficient to burn, —Nor, the beasts thereof sufficient for an ascending-sacrifice!
ಲೆಬನೋನು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಬೆಂಕಿಗೆ ಸಾಲದು: ಅದರ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಧನವು.
17 All nations, are as nothing before him, —A thing of nought or a waste, are they accounted unto him?
ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಆತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಿವೆ. ಅವು ಆತನ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶೂನ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೂ, ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇವೆ.
18 Unto whom then can ye liken GOD? Or, what likeness, can ye compare unto him?
ಹೀಗಿರಲು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸುವಿರಿ? ಅಥವಾ ಯಾವ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನ ಮಾಡುವಿರಿ?
19 The image, hath been cast by an artificer, And a goldsmith, with gold, overlayeth it, —And, chains of silver, he worketh.
ಕಂಚುಗಾರನು ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಎರಕ ಹೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಕವಚವನ್ನು ಹೊದಿಸಿ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಸರಪಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವನು.
20 The needy offerer, of a tree that will not rot, maketh choice, —A skilled artificer, seeketh he out for himself to construct an image that shall not totter,
ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರದ ಬಡವನು ಹುಳಿತುಹೋಗದ ಮರವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ, ಬಾಗಿಬೀಳದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಲ್ಪಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
21 Have ye never taken note? Have ye never heard? Hath it not from the beginning, been told you? Have ye not been led to discern, from the foundations of the earth?
ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನೀವು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಆದಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಭೂಮಿಯು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾದಂದಿನಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
22 It is he who sitteth upon the circle of the earth, While the inhabitants thereof are, as grass-hoppers, —Who stretcheth forth, as a curtain, the heavens, And spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in;
ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯಂತೆ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿ, ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವ ಗುಡಾರದಂತೆ ಹರಡಿ, ಭೂನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಮಿಡತೆಯಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ಭೂವೃತ್ತದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತಿರುವಾತನು ಆತನೇ.
23 Who delivereth dignitaries to nothingness, —Judges of earth, like a desolation, hath he made:
ಅದು ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ನಾಮ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶೂನ್ಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
24 Scarcely have they been planted, Scarcely have they been sown, Scarcely hath their stock, begun to take root in the earth, When he hath just blown upon them and they have withered, And, a whirlwind, as though they had been chaff, carrieth them away.
ಇವರು ನೆಟ್ಟಕೂಡಲೇ, ಬಿತ್ತಿದಾಕ್ಷಣವೇ, ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೂರಿದಾಗಲೇ, ಆತನ ಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಊದಿದಾಗಲೇ ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋಗುವರು. ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಇವರನ್ನು ಹೊಟ್ಟಿನಂತೆ ಬಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು.
25 Unto whom then, can ye liken me, or can I be equal? Saith the Holy One.
ಹೀಗಿರಲು, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿ ಸರಿಸಮಾನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವರು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
26 Lift on high your eyes—and see who hath created these, That bringeth forth, by number, their host, —To all of them by name, doth call, Because of the abundance of vigour and alertness of strength, not one, is missing!
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ. ಇಗೋ, ಈ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದಾತನು ಯಾರು? ಆತನೇ ತನ್ನ ಮಹಾಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಅವುಗಳ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೊರಗೆ ತರುವನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಅತಿ ಬಲಾಢ್ಯನೂ ಮಹಾಶಕ್ತನೂ ಆಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಒಂದೂ ತಪ್ಪದು.
27 Wherefore, shouldest thou say, O Jacob, or speak, O Israel, —Hidden is my path from Yahweh, And from my God, my vindication, will pass?
ನನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ನನ್ನ ನ್ಯಾಯವು ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಿಂದ ದಾಟಿಹೋಯಿತಲ್ಲಾ! ಎಂದು ಯಾಕೋಬೇ ಏಕೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ? ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೇ ಏಕೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೀ?
28 Hast thou not known, Hast thou not heard, That The God of age-past time—Yahweh The Creator of the ends of the earth Fainteth not neither groweth weary—There is no searching of his understanding:
ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನೀನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿರಂತರವಾದ ದೇವರೂ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಅಂತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದವನೂ ದಣಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಬಳಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆತನ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯು ಪರಿಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಅಗಮ್ಯ.
29 Giving to him that fainteth, strength, And to him that hath no vigour, he causeth, power to abound?
ಆತನು ದಣಿದವನಿಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಬಲಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಬಹುಬಲವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
30 Youths both faint and grow weary, And, young warriors—they fall, they fall;
ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರೋ ದಣಿದು ಬಳಲುವರು ಮತ್ತು ತರುಣರು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಬೀಳುವರು.
31 But, they who wait for Yahweh, shall renew their strength, They shall mount on strong pinion like eagles, —They shall run and not grow weary, They shall walk and not faint.
ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವವರೋ ಹೊಸ ಬಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವರು. ಅವರು ಹದ್ದುಗಳಂತೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳಿಂದ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಏರುವರು. ಅವರು ಓಡಿ ದಣಿಯರು. ನಡೆದು ಬಳಲರು.
