Isaiah 4

1 And seven women will take hold of one man in that day, saying, Our own bread, will we eat, And our own apparel, will we wear, —Only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

Og på den dagen skal sju kvinnor triva i ein og same mann og segja: «Me vil sjølve både føda og klæda oss, berre me fær bera namnet ditt! Fri oss frå vanæra vår!»

2 In that day, Shall the Bud of Yahweh, become beautiful and glorious, —And the Fruit of the Land splendid and majestic, To the escaped of Israel.

På den dagen skal Herrens renning vera til pryda og herlegdom, og landsens frukt gild og fager for leivningen av Israel.

3 And it shall come to pass—He that is left in Zion! And he that remaineth in Jerusalem, Shall be called, holy, —Everyone written unto life in Jerusalem.

Og det skal vera soleis, at den som er att i Sion og etterleivd i Jerusalem, han skal kallast heilag, kvar og ein som er innskriven til liv i Jerusalem -

4 When My Lord shall have bathed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, And the blood-guiltiness of Jerusalem, he shall wash away out of her midst, —By the spirit of judgment, and By the spirit of thorough cleansing,

når Herren fær tvætta av ureinskapen hjå Sions døtter og reinsa blodskuldi ut or Jerusalem med doms-ande og reinsings-ande.

5 Then will Yahweh, create—Over all the home of Mount Zion and Over her assembly, A cloud by day and a smoke, And the shining of a fire-flame, by night, —For over all the glory, shall be a canopy;

Og yver alt Sions-fjell og møtelydarne der skal Herren skapa ei sky og ein røyk um dagen og skinet av ein logande eld um natti; for yver all herlegdomen skal det vera ein kvelv.

6 And a pavilion, shall there be For a shade by day, from the heat, —and For a refuge and for a shelter, from storm and from rain.

Og ei hytta skal vera til livd mot dagsens hite og til vern og berging mot uver og regn.
