Isaiah 39
1 At that time, Merodach-baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, —for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick, and had recovered.
Silloin lähetti Merodak Baladan, Baladanin poika, Babelin kuningas kirjoituksen ja lahjoja Hiskialle; sillä hän oli kuullut hänen sairastaneen, ja tulleen terveeksi jälleen.
2 And Hezekiah, rejoiced over them, and showed them his house of precious things—the silver and the gold and the spices and the precious ointment and all his armoury—and all that was found among his treasures, —there was nothing, which Hezekiah, did not show them—in his house or in all his dominion.
Niin Hiskia tuli iloiseksi heidän kanssansa, ja näytti heille tavarahuoneensa, hopian ja kullan, yrtit, kalliit voiteet, ja kaikki asehuoneensa, ja kaiken tavaran, mikä hänellä oli; ei ollut mitään, jota ei Hiskia heille näyttänyt, hänen huoneessansa ja hänen takanansa.
3 Then came Isaiah the prophet, unto King Hezekiah, —and said unto him—What said these men? and whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, From a land far away, came they unto me, from Babylon!
Niin tuli propheta Jesaia kunigas Hiskian tykö, ja sanoi hänelle: mitä nämät miehet ovat sanoneet, ja kusta he sinun tykös ovat tulleet? Hiskia sanoi: he ovat tulleet kaukaiselta maalta minun tyköni, aina Babelista.
4 And he said, What have they seen in thy house? Then said Hezekiah, —All that is in my house, have they seen, there is nothing which I shewed them not among my treasures.
Mutta hän sanoi: mitä he ovat nähneet sinun huoneessas? Hiskia sanoi: kaikki mitä minun huoneessani on, ovat he nähneet, ja ei ole mitään minun tavaroissani, jota en minä ole näyttänyt heille.
5 Then said Isaiah unto Hezekiah, —Hear thou the word of Yahweh of hosts:
Ja Jesaia sanoi Hiskialle: kuule Herra Zebaotin sana.
6 Lo! days are coming, when all that is in thy house, and that which thy fathers have treasured up until this day, shall be carried away unto Babylon, —nothing, shall be left, Saith Yahweh.
Katso, se aika tulee, että kaikki, mitä sinun huoneessas on, ja mitä sinun isäs koonneet ovat tähän päivään asti, pitää vietämän pois Babeliin; niin ettei mitään pidä jäämän, sanoo Herra.
7 And of thy sons who shall issue from thee whom thou shalt beget, shall they take away, —and they shall become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
Heidän pitää myös ottaman sinun lapses, jotka sinusta tulevat, ja sinulle synnytetään; ja heidän pitää oleman kamaripalvelioina Babelin kuninkaan huoneessa.
8 And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, Good is the word of Yahweh, which thou hast spoken. And he said, Surely, there shall be peace and stability in my days.
Ja Hiskia sanoi Jesaialle: Herran sana on hyvä, jonka sinä puhunut olet. Ja sanoi: olkoon kuitenkin rauha ja uskollisuus minun päivinäni.
