< Isaiah 35 >
1 Wilderness and parched land, shall be glad for them, —And the waste plain, shall exult, and blossom as the lily:
ʻE fiefia ʻae toafa mo e potu lala koeʻuhi ko kinautolu, pea ʻe fiefia ʻae potu liʻaki, pea fisi ʻo hangē ko e lose.
2 It shall, blossom abundantly, and exult, Yea with exultation and shouts of triumph, The glory of Lebanon, hath been given to it, The splendour of Carmel, and Sharon, —They, shall see the glory of Yahweh, the splendour of our God.
ʻE fisi lahi ia, pea fiefia ʻi he fiefia mo e hiva: ʻe foaki ki ai ʻae nāunau ʻo Lepanoni, ko e lelei ʻo Kameli mo Saloni: te nau mamata ki he nāunau ʻo Sihova, mo e lelei lahi ʻo hotau ʻOtua.
3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, —The trembling knees, make ye firm:
Mou tokoni ki he nima vaivai, pea poupou ʻae tui ʻoku fengataliʻaki.
4 Say to the hurried in heart, Be strong, Do not fear, —Lo! your God, with avenging, doth come, With the recompence of God, He, doth come to save you.
Ke ke pehē kiate kinautolu ʻoku loto manavasiʻi, “Ke mou mālohi, ʻoua ʻe manavahē: vakai, ʻe hāʻele mai homou ʻOtua mo e tautea, ʻio, ʻae ʻOtua ʻaki ʻae totongi; te ne hāʻele mai ʻo fakamoʻui ʻakimoutolu.”
5 Then, shall be opened the eyes of the blind, —And, the ears of the deaf, be unstopped:
Pea ʻe toki fakaʻā ʻae mata ʻoe kui, pea ʻe fakaava mo e telinga ʻoe tuli.
6 Then, shall leap as a hart the lame, Then shall shout the tongue of the dumb, For, there have broken forth—In the desert—waters, And streams, in the waste plain:
Pea ʻe toki hopohopo ʻae tangata ketu ʻo hangē ko e hainite, pea ʻe hiva ʻae ʻelelo ʻoe noa: koeʻuhi ʻe tupu ʻi he toafa ʻae ngaahi vai, mo e ngaahi vaitafe ʻi he potu lala.
7 Then shall the glowing sand, become a lake, And thirsty ground—springs of water, —In the home of the wild dog—its lair, Shall be an enclosure for cane and paper—reed.
Pea ʻe hoko ʻae kelekele mōmoa ko e anovai, mo e fonua fieinu ko e ngaahi matavai: pea ko e nofoʻanga ʻoe fanga talākoni, ʻi he potu naʻe taki taha tokoto ai, ʻe tupu ai ʻae mohuku mo e kaho mo e mohuku ʻoe ano.
8 And there shall be there, a raised way—even a high road, And the Highroad of Holiness, shall it be called, There shall not pass over it one who is unclean; But He Himself, shall be one of them travelling the road, And the perverse, shall not stray [thereinto].
Pea ʻe ʻi ai ʻae hala motuʻa, pea mo e hala, pea ʻe ui ia ‘Ko e Hala ʻoe Māʻoniʻoni;’ ʻe ʻikai ʻalu ai ʻae taʻemaʻa; ka e tuku ia kiate kinautolu ni: pea neongo ko e vale ʻae kakai fononga ʻe ʻikai te nau hē ai.
9 There shall be, there, no lion, Nor shall ravenous beast, go up thereon, It shall not be found, there, —Thus, shall travel the redeemed;
ʻE ʻikai ʻi ai ha laione, pea ʻe ʻikai ʻalu hake ki ai ha manu fekai, ʻe ʻikai ʻilo ia ʻi ai; ka ʻe ʻeveʻeva ai ʻae kakai kuo huhuʻi:
10 And the ransomed of Yahweh! shall return, And shall enter Zion with shouting, With gladness age-abiding, upon their head, Joy and gladness shall overtake them, And sorrow and sighing, shall flee away.
Pea ʻe foki mai ʻae kakai kuo huhuʻi ʻe Sihova, ʻo haʻu ki Saione mo e ngaahi hiva, mo e fiefia taʻengata ʻi honau ʻulu: te nau maʻu ʻae fiefia mo e nekeneka, pea ʻe puna atu ʻae mamahi mo e toʻe.”
