Isaiah 33
1 Alas! thou plunderer when, thou, hadst not been plundered, And thou traitor when they had not betrayed thee: When thou hast ceased plundering, thou shalt be plundered, When thou hast left off betraying, they shall betray thee.
তুমি যে এখনও বিনষ্ট হওনি ওহে বিনাশক, ধিক্ তোমাকে! তোমার সঙ্গে যে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করা হয়নি, ওহে সেই বিশ্বাসঘাতক, ধিক্ তোমাকেও! তুমি যখন ধ্বংস করা বন্ধ করবে, তখন তোমাকে ধ্বংস করা হবে; তুমি যখন বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা বন্ধ করবে, তখন তোমার সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করা হবে।
2 O Yahweh! shew us favour, —For thee, have we waited, —Be thou their arm every morning, Yea our salvation in the time of distress.
হে সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের প্রতি দয়ালু হও; আমরা তোমার প্রতীক্ষায় আছি। প্রতি প্রভাতে তুমি আমাদের শক্তি হও, বিপর্যয়ের সময়ে আমাদের পরিত্রাণ হও।
3 At the noise of a tumult, the peoples retreated, —When thou didst lift thyself up, nations were scattered.
তোমার কণ্ঠস্বরের বজ্রধ্বনিতে, জাতিরা পলায়ন করে; তুমি যখন উঠে দাঁড়াও, সব দেশ ছিন্নভিন্ন হয়।
4 Then shall your spoil be gathered as the gathering of the caterpillar, —As the swift running of locusts, is he about to run upon them.
যেমন শুঁয়োপোকা ও পঙ্গপাল মাঠের ফসল ও দ্রাক্ষালতা শূন্য করে দেয়, তেমনই পঙ্গপালের ঝাঁকের মতো লোকেরা ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়বে।
5 Exalted is Yahweh, for he inhabiteth a height, —He hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
সদাপ্রভু মহিমান্বিত হয়েছেন, কারণ তিনি ঊর্ধ্বে অধিষ্ঠান করেন; তিনি ন্যায়বিচার ও ধার্মিকতায় সিয়োন পরিপূর্ণ করবেন।
6 So shall a wealth of deliverances, wisdom and knowledge, become the stability of thy times, —the reverence of Yahweh, the same is his treasure.
তিনি তোমার সমস্ত কালে নিশ্চিত ভিত্তিমূলস্বরূপ হবেন, তিনি হবেন পরিত্রাণ ও প্রজ্ঞা ও জ্ঞানের এক সমৃদ্ধ ভাণ্ডার; সদাপ্রভুর প্রতি ভয়ই এই বৈভবের চাবিকাঠি।
7 Lo! their heroes, have cried out openly, —the messengers of peace, in bitterness, continue weeping [they say]:
দেখো, তাদের সাহসী লোকেরা পথে পথে জোরে কাঁদছে; শান্তিদূতেরা তীব্র রোদন করছে।
8 The highways are deserted, The passer-by on the path, hath ceased, —He hath broken covenant, He hath despised cities, He hath made no account of men.
রাজপথ সব পরিত্যক্ত হয়েছে, পথিমধ্যে কোনও পথিক নেই। মৈত্রীচুক্তি ভগ্ন হয়েছে, এর সাক্ষীরা অবজ্ঞাত হয়েছে, কাউকেই সম্মান প্রদর্শন করা হয় না।
9 The land mourneth, languisheth, Lebanon, displayeth shame, is withered, —Sharon, hath become, as the waste plain, And Bashan and Carmel are shaking off their leaves.
দেশ শোকবিলাপ করে ক্ষয়ে যাচ্ছে, লেবানন লজ্জিত হয়ে শুকিয়ে যাচ্ছে; শারোণ হয়েছে মরুভূমির মতো, বাশন ও কর্মিল লুন্ঠিত হয়েছে।
10 Now, will I arise, Saith Yahweh, Now, will I lift myself up, Now, will I be exalted!
সদাপ্রভু বলছেন, “এবার আমি উঠে দাঁড়াব, এবারে আমি মহিমান্বিত হব; এবারে আমাকে উঁচুতে তুলে ধরা হবে।
11 Ye shall conceive chaff Ye shall bring forth stubble, —Your own breath, like fire, shall devour you.
তোমরা তুষ গর্ভে ধারণ করছ, তোমরা খড়ের জন্ম দাও; তোমাদের নিশ্বাস যেন আগুনের মতো, যা তোমাদেরই গ্রাস করে।
12 So shall peoples, become, as the burnings of lime, —As thorns lopped off, with fire, shall they be burned.
চুনের মতোই সব জাতিকে পুড়িয়ে ফেলা হবে; কাঁটাঝোপের মতো তারা দাউদাউ করে জ্বলবে।”
13 Hear—ye that are far off. what I have done, And know—ye that are near my might:
তোমরা যারা দূরে থাকো, তোমরা শোনো আমি কী করেছি; তোমরা যারা কাছে থাকো, তোমরা আমার পরাক্রম স্বীকার করে নাও!
14 Terror-stricken in Zion, —are sinners, Shuddering hath seized the impious, —Who among us can sojourn with a fire that devoureth? Who among us can sojourn with burnings age-abiding?
সিয়োনের পাপীরা আতঙ্কগ্রস্ত হয়েছে; ভক্তিহীন লোকেদের মধ্যে কাঁপুনি ধরেছে: “গ্রাসকারী আগুনে আমাদের মধ্যে কে বসবাস করতে পারে? আমাদের মধ্যে কে পারে সেই চিরস্থায়ী আগুনে বসবাস করতে?”
15 He that walketh righteously, And speaketh uprightly, —He that refuseth the gain of exactions That shaketh his hands free from holding a bribe, That stoppeth his ear from hearkening to deeds of blood, And shutteth his eyes from giving countenance to wrong,
যে ধার্মিকতার পথে জীবনযাপন করে, যা ন্যায়সংগত, যে সেই কথা বলে, যে দমনপীড়নের মাধ্যমে হৃত লাভ ঘৃণা করে এবং উৎকোচ নেওয়া থেকে নিজের হাত গুটিয়ে রাখে, যে খুনের ষড়যন্ত্র থেকে নিজের কান ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং মন্দ করার পরিকল্পনার প্রতি নিজের চোখ বন্ধ রাখে—
16 He, the heights, shall inhabit, A stronghold of crags, shall be his refuge, —His bread, hath been delivered, His waters, have been made sure,
এই ধরনের মানুষই উচ্চ স্থানে বসবাস করবে, পার্বত্য দুর্গই যার আশ্রয়স্থান হবে। তাকে খাবারের জোগান দেওয়া হবে, তার কাছে থাকবে জলের প্রাচুর্য।
17 Of a king, in his beauty, shall thine eyes have vision: They shall see a land that stretcheth afar.
তোমার দুই চোখ রাজাকে তাঁর সৌন্দর্যসহ দেখবে, সে নিরীক্ষণ করবে একটি দেশ, যা বহুদূর পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত।
18 Thy heart, may murmur in terror, —Where is the scribe? Where—the receiver? Where—he that maketh a list of the towers?
তোমার চিন্তাভাবনায় তুমি বিগত আতঙ্কের কথা ভাববে: “সেই প্রধান কর্মচারী কোথায়? যে রাজস্ব আদায় করত, সেই ব্যক্তি কোথায়? দুর্গপ্রাকারগুলির ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা কোথায়?”
19 The fierce people, shalt thou not see, —The people of too deep a lip to be understood, of too barbarous a tongue for thee to comprehend.
সেই উদ্ধত লোকগুলিকে তুমি আর দেখতে পাবে না, তাদের, যারা অজানা ভাষায় কথা বলত, তাদের অদ্ভুত, দুর্বোধ্য সব ভাষায়।
20 Look thou on Zion, the city of our appointed feast, —Thine own eyes, shall see Jerusalem—A home of comfort A tent which shall not be packed up—Whose pins shall not be pulled out, for ever, And none of, whose cords, shall be broken.
আমাদের সব উৎসব পালনের নগরী, সিয়োনের দিকে তাকাও তোমার চোখ জেরুশালেমকে দেখবে, তা এক শান্তির আবাস, এক অটল তাঁবুসদৃশ; এর কাঠের গোঁজগুলি কখনও উপড়ে ফেলা হবে না, এর কোনো দড়িও ছিঁড়ে যাবে না।
21 But, there shall Yahweh be our majestic one, A place of rivers—streams broad on both hands, Wherein shall go no galley with oars, Neither shall majestic ship traverse it;
সেখানে সদাপ্রভুই হবেন আমাদের পরাক্রমী জন। এই স্থান হবে প্রশস্ত নদী ও স্রোতোধারার স্থানের মতো। দাঁড়ওয়ালা কোনো রণতরী তাদের উপরে থাকবে না, কোনো শক্তিশালী জাহাজ তাদের উপরে চলবে না।
22 For, Yahweh is our judge, Yahweh, is our lawgiver, —Yahweh, is our king, He will save us!
কারণ সদাপ্রভুই আমাদের ন্যায়বিচারক, সদাপ্রভুই আমাদের আইনদাতা, সদাপ্রভু আমাদের মহারাজ; তিনিই আমাদের পরিত্রাণ করবেন।
23 Loosed are thy ropes, —They cannot strengthen the socket of their mast They have not unfurled a sail Now, can be apportioned spoil, in abundance, The lame, have captured prey!
তিমার জাহাজের দড়িদড়া ঢিলে হয়ে গেছে: মাস্তুলের অবস্থা নিরাপদ নয়, পাল তার মধ্যে খাটানো নেই। তখন প্রচুর লুঠদ্রব্য ভাগ করে দেওয়া হবে, এমনকি, খঞ্জ ব্যক্তিরাও লুটের দ্রব্য বহন করে নিয়ে যাবে।
24 Neither shall the inhabitant say. I am sick, —the people who dwell therein, have been forgiven iniquity.
সিয়োনে বসবাসকারী কেউই বলবে না, “আমি অসুস্থ”; যারা সেখানে বসবাস করে, তাদের সব পাপ ক্ষমা করা হবে।
