< Isaiah 3 >
1 For lo! the Lord, Yahweh of hosts, removing from Jerusalem and from Judah, The stay and staff, —The whole stay of bread, And the whole stay of water:
Afei hwɛ, Awurade, Asafo Awurade, rebegyae nea ɔde ma wɔ Yerusalem ne Yuda nyinaa: aduan ne nsu a ɔde ma wɔn nyinaa.
2 Man of might and man of war, —Judge and prophet And diviner and elder;
Dɔmmarima ne akofo, otemmufo ne odiyifo, nkɔmhyɛni ne ɔpanyin,
3 Captain of fifty, and favourite; And counsellor and skilled artificer, And master of magical formulas;
aduonum so panyin ne nea ɔwɔ dibea, ɔfotufo, odwumfo nyansafo ne nkaberekyerefo onifirifo.
4 And I will appoint boys to be their princes, —And, petulant children, shall rule over them,
“Mede mmerantewa bɛyɛ wɔn nnwuma so mpanyimfo; na mmofra adi wɔn so.”
5 And the people will, tyrannise, Every man over his fellow-man, And every man over his friend, —And they will rage The boy against, the elder, And the despised, against, the honourable,
Nnipa bɛhyɛ wɔn ho wɔn ho so, ɔbarima betia ɔbarima, ɔyɔnko betia ne yɔnko. Mmabun bɛsɔre atia wɔn mpanyimfo, apapahwekwa betia onuonyamfo.
6 When a man shall lay hold, on his brother of the house of his father, [saying] —Clothing, hast thou, Become thou our, ruler, This downfall, be under thy hand,
Ɔbarima beso ne nuanom mu baako mu wɔ nʼagya fi aka se, “Wowɔ atade, bɛyɛ yɛn dikanfo; wɔ kurow a adan mmubui siw yi so.”
7 He will swear, in that day, saying—I will take no control, When in mine own house, is neither food nor clothing, —Ye must not set me for a ruler of people!
Nanso da no ɔbɛteɛ mu se, “Minni nea mede bɛyɛ. Minni aduan anaa ntama wɔ me fi; mfa me nyɛ nnipa no so kannifo.”
8 For stumbled hath Jerusalem, and, Judah, hath fallen, —Because, their tongue and their doings, are against Yahweh, Provoking his glorious presence,
Yerusalem retɔ ntintan, Yuda rehwe ase; wɔn nsɛm ne nneyɛe tia Awurade. Wommu nʼanuonyam a ɛwɔ wɔn mu no.
9 The show of their face, hath answered against them, And their sin—like Sodom, have they told, they have not concealed it. Alas for their souls! For they have requited to themselves, calamity.
Sɛnea wɔn anim te no di adanse tia wɔn; wɔda wɔn bɔne adi te sɛ Sodom; wɔmmfa nsie. Nnome nka wɔn! Wɔakɔfa amanehunu aba wɔn ho so.
10 Say ye to the righteous It is well! For the fruit of their doings, shall they eat:
Ka kyerɛ atreneefo se ebesi wɔn yiye, efisɛ wobedi wɔn nneyɛe so aba.
11 Alas! for the lawless, it is ill, For what his own hand hath matured, shall be done to him.
Nnome nka amumɔyɛfo! Amanehunu wɔ wɔn so! Wobetua wɔn nea wɔn nsa ayɛ no so ka.
12 My people! children, are their tyrants, And, women, rule over them, —My people! they who should lead thee forward, are causing thee to stray, Thy pathways, have they destroyed,
Mmabun hyɛ me nkurɔfo so, mmea di wɔn so. Me nkurɔfo, mo akwankyerɛfo ma moyera; wɔma moman fi ɔtempɔn no so.
13 Yahweh hath taken his station to plead, —And is standing to judge peoples:
Awurade tena ase wɔ nʼasennii. Ɔma ne mu so bu nkurɔfo no atɛn.
14 Yahweh, into judgment, will enter, With the elders of his people And their princes, —But ye, have consumed the vineyard, That which hath been robbed from the oppressed, is in your houses.
Awurade bu atɛn de tia ne nkurɔfo mpanyimfo ne akannifo se, “Mo na moasɛe me bobeturo; apoobɔde a efi ahiafo nkyɛn wɔ mo afi mu.
15 What right have ye to crush my people, And the faces of the oppressed, to grind? Demandeth My Lord Yahweh of hosts—And Yahweh saith—
Ase ne dɛn nti na modwerɛw me nkurɔfo na mode ahiafo anim twitwiw fam?” Sɛnea Asafo Awurade se ni.
16 Because haughty are the daughters of Zion, And they walk with neck thrown back, and wanton eyes, —Tripping along as they go, And with their feet, making, a tinkling sound,
Awurade kasa se, “Sion mmabea yɛ ahantan; wɔnantew toto wɔn kɔn, wɔdeda wɔn ani akyi, wotutu wɔn anammɔn ntiantia, na wɔn anan ase nkaa gyigye.
17 Therefore will My Lord, smite with leprosy the crown of hair of the daughters of Zion, —And, as for Yahweh, their shame, will he lay bare!
Enti Awurade bɛma tikuru abegu Sion mmea ti ho. Awurade bɛma wɔn ti so apa.”
18 In that day, will My Lord remove the finery—of the anklets, and the little suns and the little moons;
Da no Awurade beyiyi wɔn afɛfɛde: nkaa, ntamabamma ne kɔnmuade,
19 the pendants and the bracelets and the veils;
asokaa, nkapo ne nkataanim,
20 the chaplets and the armlets and the girdles, and the scent-cases, and the amulets;
Wɔn mmotiri, anan ase ntweaban, nkyekyeremu, nnuhuam ntoa ne nkabere,
21 the rings and the nose-jewels;
nsɔwano mpɛtea ne hwenem nkaa,
22 the robes, and the over-tunics, and the cloaks and the purses;
ntade atenten pa, nguguso tiaa a enni nsa, ntade yuu ne sika nkotoku;
23 and the mirrors and the linen wraps, and the tiaras and the cloaks.
nhwehwɛ, sirikyi ntade, tinwi so nkaa ne mmati so nguguso.
24 And it shall come to pass—That instead of fragrance, a putrid odour, shall be, And instead of a girdle, an encircling rope, And instead of braided hair, baldness, And instead of a festal robe, a girding of sackcloth, Branding instead of beauty:
Nkabɔne besi nea ɛyɛ huam anan mu; ntampehama besi nkatakɔnmu anan mu; ti a ɛso apa besi tinwi a wɔasiesie anan mu; atweaatam besi ntama pa anan mu; honam ani atwaatwa besi ahoɔfɛ anan mu.
25 Thy males, by the sword shall fall, —And, thy mighty men, by the war;
Wo mmarima bɛtotɔ afoa ano, wʼakofo wɔ ɔko mu.
26 And her gates shall mourn and lament, —And forsaken, on the ground, shall she sit.
Sion apon betwa adwo, adi awerɛhow; onnibi, ɔbɛtena fam.
