< Isaiah 28 >
1 Alas! for the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim, And for his fading wreath of majestic beauty, —Which is on the head of the fertile valley, of them who are overcome with wine.
Ipi lung gentheinan anga hitam Samaria khopi kiletsahna adim chun-Israel jukham ho loupina lal lukhuh chu. Phaicham leipha laiya chun atouvin ahin, ahoi aloupina chu pahcha banga mollha ding ahi. Mite kiletsahna chu ju’n apuilhah ding ahi.
2 Lo! My Lord hath one who is, strong and bold, Like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest, Like a storm of mighty waters overflowing, Hath he thrust it down to the earth with force:
Ajehchu Pakai in adou dinga galsat hattah ho asol ding ahi. Hui leh gel hattah ahung juh lhah banga huipin twikhanglen asemdil jeng banga, tol jep na anei ding ahi.
3 With the feet shall be trodden down, the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim,
Samaria kihoitho sahna khopi-Israel jukham ho loupina lal lukhuh gal mite kengto noija chotpha umding ahi.
4 So shall his fading wreath of majestic beauty, Which is on the head of the fertile valley, become—Like the first-ripe fig before fruit-harvest, Which when he that looketh upon it seeth while it is yet in his hand, he swalloweth it up.
Phaicham lei phalai achun atouvin, ahin ahoina loupi chu pahcha banga mollha ding ahi. Koi hijongleh amu achun asalhah ding, theichang ga masa kiloulha a, kinepai bang ding ahi.
5 In that day, will Yahweh of hosts become A crown of beauty, and A diadem of majesty, —Unto the remnant of his people:
Achaina leh van Janel Pakai, amatah chu Israel loupina lallukhuh hung hiding ahi. Amite amoh cheng sedinga akipanao leh aki choi at nao hung hiding ahi.
6 Even a spirit of justice—to him that presideth over justice, And strength to them who would turn back the battle at the gate.
Thutandih a tan nom na lungthim a thutan vaihom ho apeh ding ahi. Kotpi ngah a um gal hang ho han sanna apeh ding ahi.
7 But as for these, With wine, do they reel, and With strong drink, do they stagger, —Priest and prophet, reel with strong drink They are swallowed up through wine They stagger through strong drink, They reel in prophetic vision, They totter in pronouncing judgment.
Ahijeng vang'in tun, Israel chu ju kham in alon dong dong in ahi. Thempu holeh themgao ho jong jukham in alon le leuvin, ju in bou akisalel taovin ahi. Mu anei naova jong amuchen tapouvin, akham jeh un thulhuhna jong apethei tapouve.
8 For, all tables, are full of filthy vomit, —There is no place!
A dokhang chung’u jong loh in atom dim in; muntin anen soh keitai.
9 Whom, would he teach knowledge? And, whom, would he cause to understand the message? Them who are weaned from the milk? taken from the breasts?
“Pakai in eiho koi ihiu a gel em?” tin adong uve. “Aman ipi dinga hitia hi eihou u ham? Naonoi chep haitil chapang neo ihiu ham?
10 For it is—Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, —A little here a little there.
Aman avel avel in eiseipeh uvin-phat khatna thugol khat, phat khatna thugol khat, hilai a themkhat, khulanga chu them khat,” ati ding ahi.
11 For, with a jabbering lip, and with an alien tongue, must he speak unto this people!
Hijeh a chu tua hi Pakai in amite henga, gamchom mi sugenthei hon pao kidang atho banguva, ahoulim pidiu ahi!
12 To whom he said—This, is the rest—give ye rest to the weary, and This, is the quietness, —But they were unwilling to hear.
Pathen’in amite henga hitin aseije, “Hilai ahin kicholngah na mun a ume; thachol ho hilai ahin kichol uhen. Hilai mun hi thipchetna kichol na ahi.” Ahin amahon ana ngai pouve.
13 So the word of Yahweh must be to them—Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, A little here, a little there, —That they may go and fall backward and be torn and snared and captured.
Hijeh a chu Pakai in thuhil amite ahin peh kitding, thugol chunga thugol, thugol chunga thugol, hilai a themkhat chuleh khulanga themkhat, hitia chu amaho kipal a lhudiu ahi. Amaho chu kisukha diu, Oh diu, chuleh mattup a umdiu ahi.
14 Wherefore, hear ye the word of Yahweh, Ye men who scoff, —Ye rulers of this people that is in Jerusalem.
Hijeh chun, Pakai akona thuhil hunglhung hi ngaijun nangho mi ija seplou Jerusalem a thunei leh vaihom ho.
15 Because ye have said—We have solemnised a covenant with death, And with hades, have we effected a vision, —The overflowing scourge when it sweepeth by, shall not reach unto us, For we have made lying our refuge. And in falsehood, have we hid ourselves, (Sheol )
Hitihin na kisonge, “Thina lhemlha din kinoptona kanei uvin, chule thivui namun peldoh din thulhuhna kanei taovin ahi. Manthah na hung lhung chun eisuhkhah louhel diu ahi. Ajehchu jou le lheplhah na akon in kichol dona lhouding tahkhat kasao ve.” (Sheol )
16 Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Behold me! founding in Zion a stone, A stone of testing, The costly corner of a well-laid foundation, he that trusteth, shall not make haste!
Hijeh chun, thanei pen Pakai in aseije: “Ven! Keiman bulphu na songpi Jerusalem'a katunge, dettah le hoitah song ahi. Inning song man tamtah, achunga insah nadia jong lhou tah hiding ahi. A tahsan chan chu kilong louhel ding ahi.
17 But I will make—Justice the line, and Righteousness the plummet, —And the hail shall, sweep away, your refuge of lying, And your hiding-place, the waters shall overflow;
Thutan dihna golkai na manga ka patep ding, chonphatna chu athuh adon vetna ka man ding ahi. Na kisel nachu jouva kisem ahijeh'in, huise gel in ano lhah ding ahi. Lhep lhahna akon ahijeh'in, tuilen in alhoh mang ding ahi.
18 So shall be wiped out your covenant with death, And your vision with hades, not stand, —When the overflowing scourge, sweepeth past, then shall ye be thereby beaten down: (Sheol )
Thina joulhep nadia na kihou toh nao kasuh haiding ahin, thina lhankhuh peldoh ding natiu jong kale hei ding ahi. Tijat umtah galmi ho ahung teng uleh, tol'a chotpha a naum diu ahi. (Sheol )
19 As often as it sweepeth past, it shall take you away, For morning by morning, shall it pass along. By day and by night, —And it shall be nothing less than a terror to make out the message;
Avel avel a tui hung len ding, jingkah sim jingkah seh a, sun le jan'a puimanga na um kah a.” Hiche thuhil hin namite asuh tijat dingu ahi.
20 For too short is the couch to stretch oneself out, —And, the coverlet, too narrow, when one draweth up his feet.
Na jalkhun chu lup nadin achom val e. Samulpon hojong aneo val in, na kisil khop lou ding ahi.
21 For as in Mount Perazim, will Yahweh, arise, As in the vale of Gibeon, will he be stirred, —To do his work—foreign is his work, And to perform his task—strange is his task.
Perazim lhanga philistines douna anei banga Pakai chu hung ding ahin, Gibeon a Amorites te douna atoh bang ding ahi. Thil kidang tah bol a hung ding ahi; bolkhah louhel bol dia hung ding ahi.
22 Now, therefore do not show yourselves scoffers, Lest your fetters, be bound fast, —For, of a full end, and that a decreed one, have I heard from My Lord, Yahweh of hosts upon all the land
Ajeh chu Pakai, van janel Pakai chun gamsung jouse suhmang ding hi ka tupten ahi tin jangpet in aseijin ahi, Hijeh chun ija selouvin koi tahih in, achutilouleh gotna nachan chu sang cheh ding ahi.
23 Give ear, and hear ye my voice, —Hearken, and hear ye my speech: —
Ka thusei hi ngaijun; lunglut tah in hung naijun lang, ngaijun.
24 All day long, doth the plowman plow for sowing? Doth he continue laying open and harrowing his soil?
Lou bolpan muchi tulouva, lou alhojing jeng ding ham? Muchi ima tulou hel'a lei alholho jeng ding ham?
25 Doth he not when he hath levelled the face thereof, Cast abroad the fennel? And, the cummin, doth he not scatter? And plant wheat in rows, And barley in a lot, And spelt in the border thereof?
Lei alho chaiteng hiche muchi ho hi atuji hilou ham?- Lengmusel, jira, gehu, butun, chuleh suhlou chang-amun cheh'a kitu ji ahi.
26 Yea One hath trained him to good judgment, His God, directeth him.
Loubol pan ipi abol ding akihet nin, ajehchu Pathenin het theina apeh ahi.
27 For not with a sledge, must, black coriander be threshed, Nor must, the wheel of a cart, on cummin, be turned, But with a staff, must fennel be beaten, And cummin with a rod:
Lengmusel jepnan sehlentah akimangji poi; mol jangkhai joh in akijep jin ahi. Kangtalai jong jira chunga a kitang poi; chusangin, jangtah in avohna mol a, akivoji boivin ahi.
28 Bread-corn, must be crushed, —Yet would he not be evermore, threshing, it, So he hasteneth over it the wheel of his cart, with his horsemen, He crusheth it not!
Changlhah ding chang chu bailam tah in akisudi thei jin, hijeh achu asuhdi jing louding ahi. Achunga kangtalai a lih khum in, ahinla asubong joudeh poi.
29 Even this, from Yahweh of hosts, cometh forth, —Who hath bestowed distinction upon counsel, And magnified sound wisdom.
Van janel Pakai hi mihil kidangtah leh loubol ho hetna sangtah pe’a chu ahi.
