Isaiah 26
1 In that day, shall be sung this song, in the land of Judah, —A strong city, have we! Salvation, will he set for walls and rampart,
En aquel día se cantará esta canción en la tierra de Judá: “Tenemos una ciudad fuerte. Dios designa la salvación para los muros y los baluartes.
2 Open ye the gates, —That there may enter in—a righteous nation preserving fidelity.
Abrid las puertas para que entre la nación justa: el que mantiene la fe.
3 A purpose sustained, thou wilt guard, [saying], Prosper! Prosper! Because in thee, hath he been led to trust.
Mantendrás la mente del que esté firme en perfecta paz, porque confía en ti.
4 Trust ye in Yahweh, unto futurity, —For, in Yah, Yahweh, is a rock of ages.
Confía en Yahvé para siempre; porque en Yah, Yahvé, hay una Roca eterna.
5 For he hath brought down the inhabitants of the height the city exalted, —He layeth it low, Layeth it low even to the ground, Levelleth it, even to the dust:
Porque ha derribado a los que habitan en las alturas, la ciudad elevada. Lo pone bajo. Lo pone bajo incluso hasta el suelo. Lo lleva hasta el polvo.
6 The foot trampleth it, —The feet of the lowly, The steps of the weak,
El pie lo pisará, hasta los pies de los pobres y los pasos de los necesitados”.
7 The path of a righteous man, is, even, —O Upright One! the track of a righteous man, thou makest level.
El camino del justo es la rectitud. Tú, que eres recto, haces que el camino de los justos sea llano.
8 Surely in the path of thy regulations, O Yahweh, we waited for thee, —Unto thy Name and unto thy Memorial, was there a longing of soul:
Sí, en el camino de tus juicios, Yahvé, te hemos esperado. Tu nombre y tu fama son el deseo de nuestra alma.
9 With my soul, longed I for thee in the night, Yea with my spirit within me, I kept on searching for thee, —For, when thy regulations [extend] to the earth, The inhabitants of the world will have learned, righteousness.
Con mi alma te he deseado en la noche. Sí, con mi espíritu dentro de mí te buscaré con ahínco; porque cuando tus juicios están en la tierra, los habitantes del mundo aprenden la justicia.
10 Let favour be shewed to the lawless, he hath not learned righteousness, In a land of honest dealings, he acteth perversely, —And seeth not the splendour of Yahweh.
Que se muestre el favor a los malvados, pero no aprenderá la justicia. En la tierra de la rectitud hará un trato incorrecto, y no verán la majestad de Yahvé.
11 O Yahweh though thy hand be lifted up, —yet do they not see, Would they might see—and turn pale at a people’s zeal, —Surely, the fire of thine enemies, must consume them!
Yahvé, tu mano está levantada, pero ellos no ven; pero verán tu celo por el pueblo y se decepcionarán. Sí, el fuego consumirá a tus adversarios.
12 O Yahweh, thou wilt ensure prosperity for us, —For even all our works, hast thou wrought for us,
Yahvé, tú ordenarás la paz para nosotros, ya que tú también has hecho todo nuestro trabajo por nosotros.
13 O Yahweh, our God! Lords other than thee, have owned us, —By thyself alone, will we call upon thy Name.
Yahvé, nuestro Dios, otros señores, además de ti, se han enseñoreado de nosotros, pero sólo reconoceremos su nombre.
14 The dead, come not to life again, The shades, do not arise, —Therefore, thou hast visited and destroyed them, And caused to perish every memorial of them.
Los muertos no vivirán. Los espíritus difuntos no se levantarán. Por eso los has visitado y destruido, y ha hecho perecer todo recuerdo de ellos.
15 Thou hast increased the nation, O Yahweh, Thou hast increased the nation thou hast gotten thyself glory, Thou hast extended far, all the ends of the land.
Tú has aumentado la nación, oh Yahvé. ¡Has aumentado la nación! ¡Estás glorificado! Has ampliado todas las fronteras de la tierra.
16 O Yahweh! in distress, they sought thee, —They poured out a whispered prayer, when thy chastening was upon them.
Yahvé, en la angustia te han visitado. Derramaron una oración cuando su castigo estaba sobre ellos.
17 Like as a woman with child—Draweth near to giving birth, Is in pain, Crieth out in her pangs So, were we before thee, O Yahweh; —
Como una mujer embarazada, que se acerca al momento del parto, está en el dolor y grita en sus dolores, así hemos estado ante ti, Yahvé.
18 We were with child—We were in pain, As it were we brought forth wind, —Salvation, we could not accomplish for the earth, Neither were born the inhabitants of the world.
Hemos estado con el niño. Hemos sufrido. Parece que sólo hemos dado a luz al viento. No hemos obrado ninguna liberación en la tierra; tampoco han caído los habitantes del mundo.
19 Thy dead, shall come to life again, My dead body, they shall arise, —Awake and shout for joy, ye that dwell in the dust For, a dew of light, is thy dew, And, earth, to the shades shall give birth.
Tus muertos vivirán. Sus cadáveres se levantarán. Despierta y canta, tú que habitas en el polvo; porque tu rocío es como el rocío de las hierbas, y la tierra expulsará a los espíritus difuntos.
20 Come my people, enter into thy chambers, And shut thy doors behind thee, —Hide thee as it were a little moment Till the indignation pass over.
Venid, pueblo mío, entrad en vuestras habitaciones, y cerrar las puertas detrás de ti. Escóndete por un momento, hasta que pase la indignación.
21 For lo! Yahweh, is coming forth out of his place, To visit the iniquity of earth’s inhabitant upon him, —Therefore shall the earth unveil her shed-blood, And throw a covering, no longer over her slain.
Porque he aquí que Yahvé sale de su lugar para castigar a los habitantes de la tierra por su iniquidad. La tierra también revelará su sangre, y ya no cubrirá a sus muertos.
