Isaiah 26
1 In that day, shall be sung this song, in the land of Judah, —A strong city, have we! Salvation, will he set for walls and rampart,
૧તે દિવસે યહૂદિયા દેશમાં આ ગીત ગવાશે: “અમારું એક મજબૂત નગર છે; ઈશ્વરે ઉદ્ધારને અર્થે તેના કોટ તથા મોરચા ઠરાવી આપ્યા છે.
2 Open ye the gates, —That there may enter in—a righteous nation preserving fidelity.
૨દરવાજા ઉઘાડો, વિશ્વાસ રાખનાર ન્યાયી પ્રજા તેમાં પ્રવેશે.
3 A purpose sustained, thou wilt guard, [saying], Prosper! Prosper! Because in thee, hath he been led to trust.
૩તમારામાં જે દૃઢ મનવાળા છે તેઓને, તમે સંપૂર્ણ શાંતિમાં રાખો, કેમ કે તે તમારા પર ભરોસો કરે છે.
4 Trust ye in Yahweh, unto futurity, —For, in Yah, Yahweh, is a rock of ages.
૪યહોવાહ પર સદા ભરોસો રાખો; કેમ કે, યહોવાહ આપણો સનાતન ખડક છે.
5 For he hath brought down the inhabitants of the height the city exalted, —He layeth it low, Layeth it low even to the ground, Levelleth it, even to the dust:
૫કેમ કે તે ગર્વથી રહેનારને નીચા નમાવશે, કિલ્લાવાળા ગર્વિષ્ઠ નગરને તે જમીનદોસ્ત કરી નાખશે; તે તેને ધૂળભેગું કરશે.
6 The foot trampleth it, —The feet of the lowly, The steps of the weak,
૬પગથી તે ખૂંદાશે; હા દીનોના પગથી અને જરૂરતમંદોના પગથી તે ખૂંદાશે.
7 The path of a righteous man, is, even, —O Upright One! the track of a righteous man, thou makest level.
૭ન્યાયીનો માર્ગ સીધો છે, તમે ન્યાયીનો રસ્તો સરળ કરી બતાવો છો.
8 Surely in the path of thy regulations, O Yahweh, we waited for thee, —Unto thy Name and unto thy Memorial, was there a longing of soul:
૮હે યહોવાહ, અમે તમારા ન્યાયના માર્ગોમાં, તમારી રાહ જોતા આવ્યા છીએ; તમારું નામ અને તમારું સ્મરણ એ અમારા પ્રાણની ઝંખના છે.
9 With my soul, longed I for thee in the night, Yea with my spirit within me, I kept on searching for thee, —For, when thy regulations [extend] to the earth, The inhabitants of the world will have learned, righteousness.
૯રાત્રે હું તમારે માટે આતુર બની રહું છું; હા, મારા અંતરાત્માથી આગ્રહપૂર્વક હું તમને શોધીશ. કેમ કે પૃથ્વી પર તમારો ન્યાય આવે છે, ત્યારે જગતના રહેવાસીઓ ન્યાયીપણું શીખે છે.
10 Let favour be shewed to the lawless, he hath not learned righteousness, In a land of honest dealings, he acteth perversely, —And seeth not the splendour of Yahweh.
૧૦દુષ્ટ ઉપર કૃપા કરવામાં આવે, પણ તે ન્યાયીપણું નહિ શીખે. પવિત્ર ભૂમિમાં પણ તે અધર્મ કરે છે અને તે યહોવાહનો મહિમા જોશે નહિ.
11 O Yahweh though thy hand be lifted up, —yet do they not see, Would they might see—and turn pale at a people’s zeal, —Surely, the fire of thine enemies, must consume them!
૧૧હે યહોવાહ, તમારો હાથ ઉગામેલો છે, પણ તેઓ ધ્યાન આપતા નથી. પણ તેઓ તમારા લોકોની ઉત્કંઠા જોઈને શરમાશે, કારણ કે તમારા વેરીઓ માટેનો જે અગ્નિ છે તે તેઓને ગળી જશે.
12 O Yahweh, thou wilt ensure prosperity for us, —For even all our works, hast thou wrought for us,
૧૨હે યહોવાહ, તમે અમને શાંતિ આપશો; કેમ કે અમારાં સર્વ કામ પણ તમે અમારે માટે કર્યાં છે.
13 O Yahweh, our God! Lords other than thee, have owned us, —By thyself alone, will we call upon thy Name.
૧૩હે યહોવાહ અમારા ઈશ્વર, તમારા સિવાય બીજા માલિકોએ અમારા પર રાજ કર્યું છે; પરંતુ અમે ફક્ત તમારા નામની સ્તુતિ કરીએ છીએ.
14 The dead, come not to life again, The shades, do not arise, —Therefore, thou hast visited and destroyed them, And caused to perish every memorial of them.
૧૪તેઓ મરણ પામ્યા છે, તેઓ જીવશે નહિ; તેઓ મરણ પામ્યા છે, તેઓ પાછા ઊઠશે નહિ. તે જ માટે તમે તેઓનો ન્યાય કરીને તેઓનો નાશ કર્યો છે અને તેઓની સર્વ યાદગીરી નષ્ટ કરી છે.
15 Thou hast increased the nation, O Yahweh, Thou hast increased the nation thou hast gotten thyself glory, Thou hast extended far, all the ends of the land.
૧૫તમે દેશની પ્રજા વધારી છે, હે યહોવાહ, તમે પ્રજા વધારી છે; તમારો મહિમા પ્રગટ કર્યો છે; તમે પૃથ્વીનાં છેડા સુધી સર્વ સીમાઓ વિસ્તારી છે.
16 O Yahweh! in distress, they sought thee, —They poured out a whispered prayer, when thy chastening was upon them.
૧૬હે યહોવાહ, સંકટ સમયે તેઓ તમારી તરફ ફર્યા છે; તમારી શિક્ષા તેઓને લાગી ત્યારે તેઓએ તમારી પ્રાર્થના કરી છે.
17 Like as a woman with child—Draweth near to giving birth, Is in pain, Crieth out in her pangs So, were we before thee, O Yahweh; —
૧૭જેમ ગર્ભવતી સ્ત્રી જ્યારે પ્રસવનો સમય પાસે આવે, ત્યારે પ્રસૂતિની વેદનામાં ચીસો પાડે છે; તે પ્રમાણે, હે પ્રભુ અમે તમારી સંમુખ હતા.
18 We were with child—We were in pain, As it were we brought forth wind, —Salvation, we could not accomplish for the earth, Neither were born the inhabitants of the world.
૧૮અમે ગર્ભ ધર્યો હતો, અમે પ્રસવ પીડામાં હતા, પણ અમે જાણે વાયુને જન્મ આપ્યો છે. પૃથ્વીનો ઉદ્ધાર અમારાથી થયો નથી અને દુનિયાના રહેવાસીઓ પડ્યા નથી.
19 Thy dead, shall come to life again, My dead body, they shall arise, —Awake and shout for joy, ye that dwell in the dust For, a dew of light, is thy dew, And, earth, to the shades shall give birth.
૧૯તમારાં મૃતજનો જીવશે; આપણા મૃત શરીરો ઊઠશે. હે ધૂળમાં રહેનારા, તમે જાગૃત થાઓ અને હર્ષનાદ કરો; કેમ કે તમારું ઝાકળ પ્રકાશનું ઝાકળ છે અને પૃથ્વી મૂએલાંને બહાર કાઢશે.
20 Come my people, enter into thy chambers, And shut thy doors behind thee, —Hide thee as it were a little moment Till the indignation pass over.
૨૦જાઓ, મારી પ્રજા, તમારી ઓરડીમાં પેસો અને અંદર જઈને બારણાં બંધ કરો; જ્યાં સુધી કોપ બંધ પડે નહિ ત્યાં સુધી સંતાઈ રહો.
21 For lo! Yahweh, is coming forth out of his place, To visit the iniquity of earth’s inhabitant upon him, —Therefore shall the earth unveil her shed-blood, And throw a covering, no longer over her slain.
૨૧કેમ કે જુઓ, પૃથ્વી પરના રહેવાસીઓના અપરાધને માટે, તેમને સજા આપવાને માટે યહોવાહ પોતાના સ્થાનમાંથી બહાર આવે છે; પૃથ્વીએ પોતે શોષી લીધેલું રક્ત તે પ્રગટ કરશે અને ત્યાર પછી પોતાના માર્યા ગયેલાઓને ઢાંકી રાખશે નહિ.
