Isaiah 24
1 Lo! Yahweh emptying the earth and laying it waste, —And he will overturn the face thereof, And scatter them who dwell therein.
Iată, Domnul goleşte pământul şi îl risipeşte şi îl răstoarnă şi împrăştie departe pe locuitorii acestuia.
2 And it shall be—As the people, so, the priest, As the servant, so his lord, As the maid, so, her mistress, —As the buyer, so, the seller, As the lender, so, the borrower, As the debtor, so! his creditor.
Şi va fi, precum poporului, aşa şi preotului; precum servitorului, aşa şi stăpânului său; precum servitoarei, aşa şi stăpânei ei; precum cumpărătorului, aşa şi vânzătorului; precum creditorului, aşa şi debitorului; precum celui ce ia camătă, aşa şi celui ce îi dă cu camătă.
3 Emptied—emptied—shall be the earth yea pillaged—pillaged, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken this word.
Ţara va fi golită de tot şi prădată în întregime, căci DOMNUL a vorbit acest cuvânt.
4 Mourneth, fadeth, the earth Languisheth, fadeth, the world, —Languished have the lofty of the people of the earth.
Pământul jeleşte şi se veştejeşte, lumea tânjeşte şi se veştejeşte, trufaşii pământului tânjesc.
5 Yea the earth itself is profaned under them who dwell therein, —For they have Set aside laws, Gone beyond statute, Broken an age-abiding covenant.
Pământul este de asemenea întinat sub locuitorii acestuia, fiindcă au încălcat legile, au schimbat rânduiala, au rupt legământul veşnic.
6 For this cause, a curse, hath devoured the earth, And punished are the dwellers therein, —For this cause, are burned the inhabitants of the earth, And the men left remaining—are few.
De aceea blestemul a mâncat pământul şi cei ce locuiesc pe el sunt pustiiţi; de aceea locuitorii pământului sunt arşi şi puţini oameni rămaşi.
7 Mourneth the new wine. Withereth the vine, —Sighing are all the merryhearted:
Vinul nou jeleşte, via tânjeşte, toţi cei cu inimă veselă oftează.
8 Ceased hath the mirth of timbrels, Ended is the noise of the uproarious, —Ceased hath the mirth of the lyre:
Bucuria tamburinelor încetează, zgomotul celor care se bucură se sfârşeşte, bucuria harpei încetează.
9 With a song, they drink not wine, —Bitter is strong drink, to them who drink it:
Ei nu vor bea vin cu o cântare; băutura tare va fi amară celor ce o beau.
10 Broken down is the city of desolation, —Shut up every house that it cannot be entered.
Cetatea pustiirii este zdrobită; fiecare casă este închisă, încât nimeni să nu intre.
11 There is an outcry concerning wine in the streets, —Darkened is all joy, Departed the gladness of the earth.
Se strigă pe străzi pentru vin; toată bucuria este întunecată, veselia ţării s-a dus.
12 There is left in the city. desolation, —And to ruins, have been broken the gate.
În cetate a rămas pustiire şi poarta este lovită cu distrugere.
13 When, thus, it shall be in the earth in the midst of the peoples, [There shall be] like the shaking of an olive-tree, like the going round to pick when closed is the harvest.
Când va fi astfel în mijlocul ţării printre oameni, va fi ca scuturarea unui măslin [şi] precum strugurii culeşi după ce recoltarea este gata.
14 They, shall lift up their voice—shall raise a tremulous note, —On account of the splendour of Yahweh, have they made a shrill cry, on the West;
Îşi vor înălţa vocea, vor cânta pentru maiestatea DOMNULUI, vor striga tare dinspre mare.
15 For this cause, In the Regions of Light, give ye glory to Yahweh, —In the Coastlands of the Sea, unto the Name of Yahweh. God of Israel,
De aceea glorificaţi pe DOMNUL în focuri, numele DOMNULUI Dumnezeul lui Israel în insulele mării.
16 From the uttermost part of the earth, melodies, have we heard—Beauty, to the righteous one! But I had said—Ruin to me! Ruin to me! Woe to me! Traitors, have betrayed, Yea traitorously, have traitors betrayed!
Din partea cea mai îndepărtată a pământului noi am auzit cântece, glorie celui drept. Dar eu am spus: Slăbiciunea mea, slăbiciunea mea, vai mie! Cei perfizi s-au purtat perfid; da, cei perfizi s-au purtat foarte perfid.
17 Terror and pit and snare, —are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth!
Frica şi groapa şi cursa sunt asupra ta, locuitor al pământului.
18 So shall it be—He that fleeth from the sound of the terror! shall fall into the pit, And, he that getteth up out of the midst of the pit, shall be captured in the snare, —For, the windows on high, have opened, And shaken are the foundations of earth.
Şi se va întâmpla, că cel ce fuge de zgomotul fricii va cădea în groapă; şi cel ce iese din mijlocul gropii va fi prins în cursă, căci ferestrele de sus sunt deschise şi fundaţiile pământului se clatină.
19 The earth breaketh, breaketh, —The earth crasheth, crasheth, The earth tottereth, tottereth;
Pământul este zdrobit de tot, pământul este dizolvat în întregime, pământul este mişcat peste măsură.
20 The earth staggereth—staggereth like a drunken man, And rocketh to and fro like a night-hut, —So shall be heavy upon her, her transgression, And she shall fall and not again rise.
Pământul se va clătina încoace şi încolo ca un beţiv şi va fi îndepărtat ca o colibă; şi fărădelegea acestuia va fi grea asupra lui; şi va cădea şi nu se va mai ridica.
21 And it shall be in that day, That Yahweh will bring punishment Upon the host of the height in the height, —And upon the kings of the ground on the ground.
Şi se va întâmpla, în acea zi, că DOMNUL va pedepsi oştirea celor înalţi din înalt şi pe împăraţii pământului peste pământ.
22 And they shall be swept together in a crowd, fettered for a pit, And shall be lowered into a dungeon, —And, after many days, shall they be punished.
Şi vor fi adunaţi precum prizonierii sunt adunaţi în groapă şi vor fi închişi în închisoare şi după multe zile vor fi cercetaţi.
23 Then shall blush the silvery moon, Then turn pale the glowing sun, —Because Yahweh of hosts hath become king In Mount Zion And in Jerusalem, And before his Elders in glory,
Atunci luna va fi încurcată şi soarele ruşinat, când DOMNUL oştirilor va domni în muntele Sion şi în Ierusalim şi glorios înaintea bătrânilor lui.
