< Isaiah 24 >
1 Lo! Yahweh emptying the earth and laying it waste, —And he will overturn the face thereof, And scatter them who dwell therein.
Gade byen, SENYÈ a va devaste tout latè ak gwo destriksyon, boulvèse sifas li e gaye tout moun ki rete ladann.
2 And it shall be—As the people, so, the priest, As the servant, so his lord, As the maid, so, her mistress, —As the buyer, so, the seller, As the lender, so, the borrower, As the debtor, so! his creditor.
Pèp la menm jan ak prèt la, sèvitè a tankou mèt li, sèvant lan tankou mètrès li, sa k ap achte tankou sa k ap vann, sila k ap fè prè a tankou sila k ap prete a, sila ki resevwa kredi a tankou sila k ap bay kredi a.
3 Emptied—emptied—shall be the earth yea pillaged—pillaged, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken this word.
Latè va devaste nèt e vin depouye, paske SENYÈ a te pale pawòl sa a.
4 Mourneth, fadeth, the earth Languisheth, fadeth, the world, —Languished have the lofty of the people of the earth.
Latè kriye ak doulè e vin fennen nèt. Sila ki egzalte wo sou moun latè yo vin disparèt.
5 Yea the earth itself is profaned under them who dwell therein, —For they have Set aside laws, Gone beyond statute, Broken an age-abiding covenant.
Anplis, latè vin plen ak pouriti a moun k ap viv ladann, paske yo te transgrese lalwa yo, vyole règleman yo, e te kraze akò letènèl la.
6 For this cause, a curse, hath devoured the earth, And punished are the dwellers therein, —For this cause, are burned the inhabitants of the earth, And the men left remaining—are few.
Akoz sa, yon malediksyon devore latè a, e sila ki rete ladann yo vin twouve koupab. Konsa, sila ki rete sou latè yo vin brile e se sèl kèk grenn moun ki rete.
7 Mourneth the new wine. Withereth the vine, —Sighing are all the merryhearted:
Diven nèf la fèb. Chan rezen an gate. Tout kè kontan yo fè gwo plent.
8 Ceased hath the mirth of timbrels, Ended is the noise of the uproarious, —Ceased hath the mirth of the lyre:
Kè kontan a tanbouren yo vin rete, bri a moun k ap fete yo vin sispann.
9 With a song, they drink not wine, —Bitter is strong drink, to them who drink it:
Yo pa bwè diven ak chanson; bwason fò yo vin anmè pou sila ki bwè l yo.
10 Broken down is the city of desolation, —Shut up every house that it cannot be entered.
Vil gwo dezòd la vin kraze nèt. Tout kay vin fèmen pou pèsòn pa antre.
11 There is an outcry concerning wine in the streets, —Darkened is all joy, Departed the gladness of the earth.
Gen gwo kriye nan lari a pou afè diven. Tout kè kontan vire an gwo tristès.
12 There is left in the city. desolation, —And to ruins, have been broken the gate.
Se dezolasyon ki rete nan vil la e pòtay la fin kraze nèt.
13 When, thus, it shall be in the earth in the midst of the peoples, [There shall be] like the shaking of an olive-tree, like the going round to pick when closed is the harvest.
Paske se konsa l ap ye nan mitan latè a pami pèp yo; tankou lè bwa doliv souke fò, tankou sila ki ranmase apre rekòlt rezen an fin fèt yo.
14 They, shall lift up their voice—shall raise a tremulous note, —On account of the splendour of Yahweh, have they made a shrill cry, on the West;
Yo leve vwa yo; yo kriye ak kè kontan. Yo kriye soti nan lwès akoz majeste SENYÈ a.
15 For this cause, In the Regions of Light, give ye glory to Yahweh, —In the Coastlands of the Sea, unto the Name of Yahweh. God of Israel,
Pou sa, bay glwa a SENYÈ a nan lès, non SENYÈ a, Bondye Israël la, nan peyi kot lanmè yo.
16 From the uttermost part of the earth, melodies, have we heard—Beauty, to the righteous one! But I had said—Ruin to me! Ruin to me! Woe to me! Traitors, have betrayed, Yea traitorously, have traitors betrayed!
Soti nan dènye pwent latè, nou tande chan yo: “Glwa a Sila Ki Dwat la,” men mwen di: “Malè a mwen menm! Malè a mwen menm! Elas pou mwen! Moun trèt yo aji an trèt e moun trèt yo aji an trèt anpil.”
17 Terror and pit and snare, —are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth!
Gwo laperèz, twou fòs ak pèlen vin devan nou menm ki rete sou latè.
18 So shall it be—He that fleeth from the sound of the terror! shall fall into the pit, And, he that getteth up out of the midst of the pit, shall be captured in the snare, —For, the windows on high, have opened, And shaken are the foundations of earth.
Konsa, li va rive ke sila ki sove ale lè l tande gwo dega a va vin tonbe nan fòs la, e sila ki rale kò l sòti nan fòs la va pran nan pèlen an; paske fenèt anlè yo vin louvri e fondasyon latè yo ap tranble.
19 The earth breaketh, breaketh, —The earth crasheth, crasheth, The earth tottereth, tottereth;
Latè vin dechire. Latè vin fann nèt. Latè souke ak vyolans.
20 The earth staggereth—staggereth like a drunken man, And rocketh to and fro like a night-hut, —So shall be heavy upon her, her transgression, And she shall fall and not again rise.
Latè woule de bò tankou moun ki anba gwòg. Li pyete tankou vye kay pay. Akoz transgresyon li yo peze lou sou li, li va tonbe nèt pou l pa janm leve ankò.
21 And it shall be in that day, That Yahweh will bring punishment Upon the host of the height in the height, —And upon the kings of the ground on the ground.
Li va rive nan jou sa a ke SENYÈ a va pini lame syèl anwo yo ak wa latè sou latè yo.
22 And they shall be swept together in a crowd, fettered for a pit, And shall be lowered into a dungeon, —And, after many days, shall they be punished.
Yo va ranmase ansanm tankou prizonye nan yon kacho e yo va fèmen nan prizon. Apre anpil jou, yo va pini.
23 Then shall blush the silvery moon, Then turn pale the glowing sun, —Because Yahweh of hosts hath become king In Mount Zion And in Jerusalem, And before his Elders in glory,
Konsa, lalin nan va vin twouble e solèy la va vin wont, paske SENYÈ dèzame yo va renye sou Mòn Sion ak Jérusalem, e laglwa Li va devan ansyen Li yo.
