Isaiah 21
1 The oracle on the desert of the sea: As storm-winds in the South which with a rush from the desert, do come from a terrible land,
সমুদ্রের তীরবর্তী মরুপ্রান্তর সম্পর্কিত এক ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী: দক্ষিণাঞ্চল থেকে যেমন ঘূর্ণিবায়ু প্রবল বেগে বয়ে যায়, মরুপ্রান্তর থেকে, এক আতঙ্কস্বরূপ দেশ থেকে তেমনই এক আক্রমণকারী উঠে আসছে।
2 [So] hath, a grievous vision, been told me: —the deceiver, is deceiving. And the spoiler, is spoiling, Go up, O Elam Besiege O Media, All the sighing she hath caused, have I made to cease.
এক নিদারুণ দর্শন আমাকে দেখানো হয়েছে: বিশ্বাসঘাতক বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করে, লুণ্ঠনকারী লুট গ্রহণ করে। এলম, আক্রমণ করো! মাদিয়া, তোমরা অবরোধ করো! তার দেওয়া যত শোকবিলাপের আমি নিবৃত্তি ঘটাব।
3 For this cause, are my loins filled with anguish, Pangs, have seized me, as the pangs of her that is giving birth, —I writhe so that I cannot hear, I tremble, so that I cannot see:
এতে আমার শরীর বেদনায় জর্জরিত হল, প্রসববেদনাগ্রস্ত নারীর মতো আমার শরীরে ব্যথা হল; আমি যা শুনি, তাতে হত-বিহ্বল হই, আমি যা শুনি, তাতে চমকিত হই।
4 My heart fluttereth, A horror, terrifieth me, —My twilight of pleasure, hath he turned for me into a time of trembling.
আমার হৃদয় ধুকধুক করে, ভয়ে আমি কাঁপতে থাকি; যে গোধূলিবেলার আমি অপেক্ষা করি, তা আমার কাছে হয়েছে বিভীষিকার মতো।
5 [Ye thought] to prepare the table—spread the mat—eat—drink! …Arise ye chieftains anoint the shield!
তারা টেবিলে খাবার সাজায়, তারা বসার জন্য মাদুর বিছিয়ে দেয়, তারা প্রত্যেকেই ভোজনপান করতে থাকে! ওহে সেনাপতিরা, তোমরা ওঠো, ঢালগুলিতে তেল মাখাও!
6 For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Go, set the watchman, What he seeth, let him tell!
সদাপ্রভু আমাকে এই কথা বলেন: “তুমি যাও ও গিয়ে একজন প্রহরী নিযুক্ত করো, সে যা দেখে, তার সংবাদ দিতে বলো।
7 When he seeth A train of horsemen in double rank, A train of asses, A train of camels, Then shall he hearken attentively with diligent heed.
যখন সে অনেক রথ দেখে যেগুলির সঙ্গে পাল পাল অশ্ব থাকে, গর্দভ বা উটের পিঠে আরোহীদের যখন সে দেখে, সে যেন সজাগ থাকে, সম্পূর্ণরূপে সজাগ থাকে।”
8 Then cried he. A lion! On the watch, O My Lord, had I been standing continually, by day, And at my post, had I been stationed whole nights; —
সেই সিংহরূপী প্রহরী চিৎকার করে বলল, “দিনের পর দিন, আমার প্রভু, আমি প্রহরীদুর্গে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকি; রোজ রাত্রে আমি আমার প্রহরাস্থানেই থাকি।
9 When lo! here was a train of men coming. With horsemen in double rank, —And one began and said, Fallen! fallen! is Babylon, And all the images of her gods, are smashed to the ground!
দেখুন, একজন মানুষ রথে চড়ে আসছে, তার সঙ্গে আছে অশ্বের পাল। আর সে প্রত্যুত্তরে বলছে, ‘ব্যাবিলনের পতন হয়েছে, পতন হয়েছে! তার সব দেবদেবীর মূর্তিগুলি মাটিতে যেখানে সেখানে ছড়িয়ে আছে!’”
10 O thou My threshing! And the grain of my corn-floor! That which I have heard from Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, Have I declared, unto you.
ও আমার প্রজারা, তোমাদের খামারে মাড়াই করে চূর্ণ করা হয়েছে, আমি সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে যা শুনেছি, তাই তোমাদের বলি।
11 The oracle on Dumah: Unto me, is one crying—out of Seir, Watchman! how far gone is the night? Watchman, how far gone is the night?
দূমার বিরুদ্ধে এক ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী, কেউ আমাকে সেয়ীর থেকে ডেকে বলছে, “প্রহরী, রাতের আর কত বাকি আছে? প্রহরী, রাতের আর কত বাকি আছে?”
12 Said the watchman, There cometh a morning. But also a night, —If ye will enquire, enquire, ye—Come, again!
প্রহরী উত্তর দিল, “সকাল হয়ে আসছে, কিন্তু রাতও আসছে। তুমি যদি জিজ্ঞাসা করতে চাও, তো জিজ্ঞাসা করো এবং আবার ফিরে এসো।”
13 The oracle on Arabia, —Among the shrubs in Arabia, must ye lodge, Ye caravans of Dedanites.
আরবের বিরুদ্ধে এক ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী, দদানের মরুযাত্রী তোমরা, যারা আরবীয় ঘন জঙ্গল এলাকায় তাঁবু স্থাপন করো,
14 To meet the thirsty, bring ye water, —Ye dwellers in the land of Tema; With bread for him, get in advance of him that is in flight!
তোমরা তৃষ্ণার্ত মানুষদের জন্য জল নিয়ে এসো; আর তোমরা যারা টেমায় বসবাস করো, তোমরা পলাতকদের জন্য খাবার নিয়ে এসো।
15 For, before swords, have they fled: Before a sword that is drawn, Before a bow that is bent, And before the stress of war.
তারা তরোয়াল থেকে পলায়ন করে, নিষ্কোষ তরোয়াল থেকে পলায়ন করে, তারা পলায়ন করে চাড়া দেওয়া ধনুক থেকে এবং রণভূমির উত্তাপ থেকে।
16 For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Within a year according to the yearn of a hireling, shall fail all the glory of Kedar;
প্রভু আমাকে এই কথা বললেন: “যেভাবে কোনো দাস তার চুক্তির মেয়াদ গুনতে থাকে, তেমনই এক বছরের মধ্যে কেদরের সমস্ত সমারোহের অন্ত হবে।
17 And, the remnant of the record of bowmen, The heroes of the sons of Kedar, shall become few; For Yahweh God of Israel, hath spoken.
ধনুর্ধারীদের অবশিষ্ট লোকেরা, কেদরের যোদ্ধারা সংখ্যায় অল্পই হবে।” একথা সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বলেছেন।
