Isaiah 13
1 The oracle on Babylon, —of which Isaiah, son of Amoz had vision: —
Peso de Babilônia, que viu Isaias, filho de Amós.
2 Upon a bare mountain, lift ye up a standard, Raise high the voice to them, Wave the hand, That they may enter the doors of nobles.
Alçai uma bandeira sobre um alto monte, levantai a voz a eles: movei a mão em alto, para que entrem pelas portas dos príncipes.
3 I myself, have given charge to my hallowed ones, —Yea I have called My heroes in showing mine anger, My proudly exulting ones.
Já eu passei ordens aos meus santificados: já também chamei aos meus valentes para minha ira, os quais são exaltados na minha magestade.
4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, A resemblance of many people, —The noise of a tumult of kingdoms Nations gathered together, Yahweh of hosts, mustering a host for battle!
Já se ouve a voz de arroido sobre os montes, como de muito povo: a voz do reboliço de reinos e de nações já congregadas. O Senhor dos exércitos passa a mostra do exército de guerra.
5 They are coming in From a land far away. From the utmost bound of the heavens, —Yahweh—with his weapons of indignation, To destroy the land.
Já vem da terra de longe desde a extremidade do céu, assim o Senhor, como os instrumentos da sua indignação, para destruir toda aquela terra.
6 Howl ye! for at hand is the day of Yahweh, —As a veritable destruction from the Almighty, shall it come.
Uivai, pois, porque o dia do Senhor já está perto: já vem como assolação do Todo-poderoso.
7 For this cause—All hands, shall hang down, —and Every mortal heart, melt.
Pelo que todas as mãos se debilitarão, e o coração de todos os homens se desanimará.
8 And they shall be in distress—Writhings and pains, shall lay hold, As a woman in childbirth, shall they be in pangs, —Everyone, at his neighbour, shall look in amazement, Faces of flames, their faces!
E assombrar-se-ão, e apoderar-se-ão deles dores e ais, e se angustiarão, como a mulher com dores de parto; cada um se espantará do seu próximo; os seus rostos serão rostos flamejantes.
9 Lo! the day of Yahweh, coming in, Fierce and overflowing, and burning with anger, —To devote the earth to desolation, And her sinners, will he destroy out of it.
Eis que o dia do Senhor vem, horrendo, com furor e ira ardente, para pôr a terra em assolação, e destruir os pecadores dela.
10 For the stars of the heavens and their constellations, shall not flash forth their light, —Obscured shall be the sun in his going forth, And the moon, shall not shed her light.
Porque as estrelas dos céus e os seus astros não luzirão com a sua luz: o sol se escurecerá em nascendo, e a lua não resplandecerá com a sua luz.
11 And I will visit, upon the inhabited earth, calamity!, And upon the lawless, their punishment, And will quiet the arrogance of the proud, And the loftiness of tyrants, will I lay low.
Porque visitarei sobre o mundo a maldade, e sobre os ímpios a sua iniquidade: e farei cessar a arrogância dos atrevidos, e abaterei a soberba dos tiranos.
12 I will cause, a man, to be more precious than fine gold, —Even a son of earth than, the finest gold of Ophir.
Farei que um homem seja mais precioso do que o ouro puro, e um homem mais do que o ouro fino de Ophir.
13 For this cause, the heavens, will I disturb, And, the earth, shall tremble out of her place, —In the wrath of Yahweh of hosts, And in the day of the glow of his anger.
Pelo que farei estremecer os céus; e a terra se moverá do seu lugar, por causa do furor do Senhor dos exércitos, e por causa do dia da sua ardente ira.
14 And it shall be—Like a gazelle that is chased, And like a sheep with none to lift it up, —Each, to his own people, will they turn, And, each, to his own land, will they flee:
E cada um será como a corça que foge, e como a ovelha que ninguém recolhe: cada um voltará para o seu povo, e cada um fugirá para a sua terra.
15 Every one found, shall be thrust through, —And, every one taken, shall fall by the sword;
Qualquer que for achado será traspassado; e qualquer que se ajuntar com ele cairá à espada.
16 And, their infants, shall be dashed to the ground, before their eyes, —Plundered shall be, their houses, and their wives ravished.
E suas crianças serão despedaçadas perante os seus olhos: as suas casas serão saqueadas, e as suas mulheres forçadas.
17 Behold me! stirring up against them the Medes, —Who of silver, shall take no account, And as for gold, they shall not delight in it;
Eis que eu despertarei contra eles os medos, que não farão caso da prata, nem tão pouco desejarão ouro
18 And, bows, shall dash the young to pieces, —And on the fruit of the womb, will they have no pity, Over children, will their eye throw no shield.
E os seus arcos despedaçarão os mancebos, e não se compadecerão do fruto do ventre; o seu olho não poupará aos filhos.
19 Thus shall Babylon—The most lovely of kingdoms, The majestic beauty of the Chaldees—Become as in the divine overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Assim será Babilônia, o ornamento dos reinos, a glória e a soberba dos caldeus, como Sodoma e Gomorrha, quando Deus as transtornou.
20 It shall not be dwelt in for ever, Neither shall it be inhabited from generation to generation, —Neither shall encamp there, an Arab, Nor, shepherds, fold their flocks there.
Nunca mais haverá habitação nela, nem se habitará de geração em geração: nem o árabe armará ali a sua tenda, nem tão pouco os pastores ali farão as suas malhadas.
21 Then shall lie down there, wild beasts, And filled shall be their houses with owls, —Then shall inhabit there, the ostrich, And shaggy creatures, shall dance there.
Mas as bestas feras do deserto repousarão ali, e as suas casas se encherão de horríveis animais: e ali habitarão as avestruzinhas, e os sátiros pularão ali
22 And jackals shall answer, in their citadels, And wild dogs, in their voluptuous palaces, —And near to come is her time, And, her days, shall not be delayed.
E as bestas feras que uivam se apuparão umas às outras nos seus palácios vazios, como também os dragões nos seus palácios de prazer; pois bem perto já vem chegando o seu tempo, e os seus dias se não prolongarão.
