Hosea 9
1 Do not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation, like the peoples, for thou hast gone away unchastely from beside thy God, —thou hast loved a present, upon all the threshing-floors of corn!
Oh Israel, no te alegres ni te regocijes como otros pueblos, porque te prostituiste al abandonar a tu ʼElohim, y amaste salario de prostituta en todas las eras del trigo.
2 Threshing-floor and wine-vat, will not feed them, and, new wine, will deny them.
La era y el lagar no los alimentarán, y el mosto les fallará.
3 They shall not dwell in the land of Yahweh, but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and, in Assyria—that which is unclean, shall they eat.
No vivirán en la tierra de Yavé. Efraín se volverá a Egipto, y en Asiria comerán manjar impuro.
4 They shall not pour out to Yahweh—wine, neither shall they be pleasing to him, their sacrifices, are as the food of mourning to them, all that eat thereof, shall defile themselves, because, their food for their appetite, entereth not into the house of Yahweh.
No ofrecerán a Yavé libaciones de vino, ni sus holocaustos le serán aceptos. Serán para ellos como pan de duelo. Todos los que lo coman quedarán impuros. Su pan será para ellos mismos, pero no entrará en la Casa de Yavé.
5 What will ye do, for the day of appointed meeting? and in the day of the festival of Yahweh?
¿Qué harán el día de la solemnidad, el día de la fiesta de Yavé?
6 For, though they have gone from destruction, yet, Egypt, shall gather them, Memphis, shall bury them, —as for their silver favorites! thistles, shall possess them, thorns in their tents.
Si escapan a causa de la calamidad, Egipto los recogerá, y Menfis los sepultará. La codicia de su plata la heredará la ortiga, y en sus tiendas crecerán espinos.
7 Come are the days of visitation, come are the days of recompense, Let Israel know! The prophet is foolish, the man of the spirit doth rave, because of the greatness of thine iniquity, therefore great is the prosecution.
Llegan los días del castigo, Llegan los días de la retribución. Que lo sepa Israel: A causa de la magnitud de tu pecado, A causa de tu gran maldad y de tu gran odio, El profeta enloqueció. El hombre inspirado es insensato.
8 The watchman of Ephraim, [should have been] with my God: As for the prophet, the snare of the fowler, is on all his ways, a prosecution [awaiteth him], in the house of his God.
El vidente de Efraín profetiza sin contar con su ʼElohim. Es trampa de cazador en todos sus caminos, odio en la Casa de su ʼElohim.
9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, like the days of Gibeah: he will call to mind their iniquity, he will punish their sins.
Se corrompieron grandemente, como en los días de Gabaa. Pero Él se acuerda de su culpa y castigará su pecado.
10 Like grapes in the desert, found I Israel, like the first-ripe in the fig-tree when it is young, saw I your fathers, —they, entered Baal-peor, and devoted themselves to the Shameful Thing, Then became their abominations like their lusts.
Como uvas en el desierto hallé a Israel. Como la fruta temprana de la higuera encontré a sus antepasados. Pero ellos fueron a Baal-peor y se apartaron para vergüenza. Fueron tan repugnantes como aquello que amaron.
11 As for Ephraim! like a bird, did their glory, fly away, —no birth, and none with child, no conception.
Como ave volará la gloria de Efraín. No habrá parto, ni embarazo, ni concepción.
12 Yea, though they rear their children, yet will I make them childless, till there be no human being, —for it is, nothing less than woe, to them when I depart from them!
Y aunque críen a sus hijos, los quitaré de en medio de los hombres. ¡Ay de ellos en verdad, cuando Yo me aparte de ellos!
13 Ephraim! just as I provided for Tyre, was planted in a meadow, —yet, Ephraim, must needs bring forth for a murderer his children.
Según observé, Efraín es otra Tiro plantada en la pradera, pero Efraín entregará sus hijos al verdugo.
14 Give them, O Yahweh—what wilt thou give? Give them, a miscarrying womb, and breasts dried up.
Dales, oh Yavé, lo que les vas a dar. Dales una matriz que aborte y pechos resecos.
15 All their wickedness, is in Gilgal, yea, there, have I come to hate them, For the wickedness of their doings—out of my house, will I drive them forth, —no more will I love them, all their rulers, are unruly.
Toda su maldad ocurrió en Gilgal. Allí, pues, les tomé aversión por la perversidad de sus hechos los eché de mi Casa. Ya no los amaré más. Todos sus gobernantes son desleales.
16 Smitten is Ephraim, their root, hath dried up, fruit, shall they not bear, —yea, though they do bring forth, yet will I slay the darlings of their womb.
Herido está Efraín. Su raíz está seca y no da fruto. Aunque engendre, mataré lo deseable de sus órganos internos.
17 My God will reject them, because they hearkened not unto him, —that they may become wanderers throughout the nations.
Mi ʼElohim los desechará, porque ellos no lo escucharon, yandarán errantes entre las naciones.
