Hosea 9
1 Do not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation, like the peoples, for thou hast gone away unchastely from beside thy God, —thou hast loved a present, upon all the threshing-floors of corn!
૧હે ઇઝરાયલ, બીજા લોકોની જેમ આનંદ ન કર. કેમ કે તું તારા ઈશ્વરને ભૂલીને યહોવાહને વિશ્વાસુ નથી રહ્યો. દરેક ખળીમાં તેં વેતન આપવા ચાહ્યું છે.
2 Threshing-floor and wine-vat, will not feed them, and, new wine, will deny them.
૨પણ ખળીઓ તથા દ્રાક્ષકુંડો તેઓનું પોષણ કરશે નહિ; તેને નવા દ્રાક્ષારસની ખોટ પડશે નહિ.
3 They shall not dwell in the land of Yahweh, but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and, in Assyria—that which is unclean, shall they eat.
૩તેઓ યહોવાહના દેશમાં રહી શકશે નહિ; પણ એફ્રાઇમ ફરીથી મિસર જશે. આશ્શૂરમાં તેઓ અપવિત્ર અન્ન ખાશે.
4 They shall not pour out to Yahweh—wine, neither shall they be pleasing to him, their sacrifices, are as the food of mourning to them, all that eat thereof, shall defile themselves, because, their food for their appetite, entereth not into the house of Yahweh.
૪તેઓ યહોવાહને દ્રાક્ષારસના અર્પણો ચઢાવશે નહિ, કે તેઓનાં અર્પણો તેઓને ખુશ કરશે નહિ. તેઓનાં બલિદાનો શોક કરનારાઓનાં ખોરાક જેવાં થઈ પડશે. જેઓ તે ખાશે તેઓ અપવિત્ર થશે. કેમ કે તેઓનું અન્ન ફક્ત તેઓના પૂરતું છે; તે યહોવાહના ઘરમાં દાખલ થશે નહિ.
5 What will ye do, for the day of appointed meeting? and in the day of the festival of Yahweh?
૫તમે ઠરાવેલા પર્વના દિવસોમાં એટલે યહોવાહના ઉત્સવોના દિવસોમાં શું કરશો?
6 For, though they have gone from destruction, yet, Egypt, shall gather them, Memphis, shall bury them, —as for their silver favorites! thistles, shall possess them, thorns in their tents.
૬કેમ કે, જો તેઓ વિનાશમાંથી જતા રહ્યા છે, તોપણ મિસર તેઓને એકત્ર કરશે, મેમ્ફિસ તેમને દફનાવશે. તેઓના સુંદર ચાંદીના દાગીના કાંટાળા છોડને હવાલે થશે, તેઓના તંબુઓમાં કાંટા ઊગી નીકળશે.
7 Come are the days of visitation, come are the days of recompense, Let Israel know! The prophet is foolish, the man of the spirit doth rave, because of the greatness of thine iniquity, therefore great is the prosecution.
૭શિક્ષાના દિવસો આવ્યા છે, બદલો લેવાના દિવસો આવ્યા છે; ઇઝરાયલ તે જાણશે; તારા પુષ્કળ અન્યાયને કારણે તારા મોટા વૈરને કારણે “પ્રબોધક મૂર્ખ ગણાય છે, અને જે માણસમાં ઈશ્વરનો આત્મા છે તે ઘેલો છે.”
8 The watchman of Ephraim, [should have been] with my God: As for the prophet, the snare of the fowler, is on all his ways, a prosecution [awaiteth him], in the house of his God.
૮પ્રબોધક જે મારા ઈશ્વરની સાથે છે તે એફ્રાઇમનો ચોકીદાર છે, પણ તેના બધા માર્ગોમાં પક્ષીઓની જાળ છે, તેના ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં વૈર છે.
9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, like the days of Gibeah: he will call to mind their iniquity, he will punish their sins.
૯ગિબયાહના દિવસોમાં થયા હતા તેમ, તેઓ અતિ ભ્રષ્ટ થયા છે. ઈશ્વર તેઓના અપરાધોને યાદ કરીને, તેઓનાં પાપોની સજા કરશે.
10 Like grapes in the desert, found I Israel, like the first-ripe in the fig-tree when it is young, saw I your fathers, —they, entered Baal-peor, and devoted themselves to the Shameful Thing, Then became their abominations like their lusts.
૧૦યહોવાહ કહે છે કે, “જેમ અરણ્યમાં દ્રાક્ષા મળે તે જ રીતે મને ઇઝરાયલ મળ્યું. અંજીરીની મોસમમાં જેમ પ્રથમ અંજીર મળે તેમ મેં તમારા પૂર્વજોને જોયા. પણ તેઓ બઆલ-પેઓર પાસે ગયા, તેઓ શરમજનક વસ્તુને સમર્પિત થયા. તેઓ પોતાની પ્રિય મૂર્તિઓના જેવા ધિક્કારપાત્ર થયા.
11 As for Ephraim! like a bird, did their glory, fly away, —no birth, and none with child, no conception.
૧૧એફ્રાઇમની ગૌરવ પક્ષીની જેમ ઊડી જશે. ત્યાં કોઈ જન્મ, કોઈ ગર્ભવતી અને કોઈ ગર્ભાધાન થશે નહિ.
12 Yea, though they rear their children, yet will I make them childless, till there be no human being, —for it is, nothing less than woe, to them when I depart from them!
૧૨જોકે તેઓ બાળકો ઉછેરે, તોપણ એકપણ પણ માણસ ન રહે ત્યાં સુધી હું તેઓને દૂર લઈ જઈશ. જ્યારે હું તેઓનાથી દૂર જઈશ ત્યારે તેઓને અફસોસ!
13 Ephraim! just as I provided for Tyre, was planted in a meadow, —yet, Ephraim, must needs bring forth for a murderer his children.
૧૩મેં તૂરને જોયું છે તેવી રીતે એફ્રાઇમ ફળદ્રુપ જમીનમાં રોપાયેલો છે, પણ એફ્રાઇમ પોતાનાં સંતાનને સંહારકની પાસે બહાર લાવશે.”
14 Give them, O Yahweh—what wilt thou give? Give them, a miscarrying womb, and breasts dried up.
૧૪હે યહોવાહ, તેઓને આપો. તમે તેઓને શું આપશો? ગર્ભપાત કરનાર ગર્ભસ્થાન તથા દૂધ વગરનાં સ્તન તેઓને આપો.
15 All their wickedness, is in Gilgal, yea, there, have I come to hate them, For the wickedness of their doings—out of my house, will I drive them forth, —no more will I love them, all their rulers, are unruly.
૧૫ગિલ્ગાલમાં તેઓનાં બધાં દુષ્ટ કાર્યોને કારણે. ત્યાં હું તેઓને ધિક્કારવા લાગ્યો. તેઓનાં દુષ્કૃત્યોને કારણે, હું તેઓને મારા ઘરમાંથી નસાડી મૂકીશ. હવે પછી હું તેઓના પર પ્રેમ નહિ રાખું. તેઓના બધા સરદારો બંડખોર છે.
16 Smitten is Ephraim, their root, hath dried up, fruit, shall they not bear, —yea, though they do bring forth, yet will I slay the darlings of their womb.
૧૬એફ્રાઇમ રોગગ્રસ્ત છે, તેઓનું મૂળ સુકાઈ ગયું છે; તેમને ફળ આવશે નહિ. જોકે તેઓને સંતાન થાય, તો પણ હું તેઓના વહાલાં સંતાનનો સંહાર કરીશ.
17 My God will reject them, because they hearkened not unto him, —that they may become wanderers throughout the nations.
૧૭મારા ઈશ્વર તેઓને તરછોડી નાખશે કેમ કે તેઓએ તેમનું સાંભળ્યું નથી. તેઓ પરદેશીઓ મધ્યે ભટકનારા થશે.
