Hosea 5
1 Hear ye this—O priests, and attend, O house of Israel, and ye, House of the King, give ear, for, to you, pertaineth the sentence, —for, a snare, have ye been to Mizpah, and a net spread on Tabor.
Ouvi isto, ó sacerdotes, e escutae, ó casa de Israel, e escutae, ó casa do rei, porque a vós toca este juizo, visto que fostes um laço para Mispah, e rede estendida sobre Tabor.
2 And, a slaughter, have apostates deeply designed, —though, I, was a rebuker to them all.
E, matando sacrificios errados, abaixaram até ao profundo; mas eu serei a correcção de todos elles.
3 I, have known Ephraim, and, Israel, hath not been hidden from me, —for, now, hast thou committed unchastity, O Ephraim, Israel, hath made himself impure.
Eu conheço a Ephraim, e Israel não se me esconde; porque agora tens fornicado, ó Ephraim, e se contaminou Israel.
4 Their doings, will not suffer, them to return unto their God, —for, the spirit of unchastity, is within them, and, Yahweh, have they not known.
Não querem ordenar as suas acções afim de voltarem para o seu Deus, porque o espirito das fornicações está no meio d'elles, e não conhecem ao Senhor
5 Therefore will the Excellency of Israel, answer, to his face, —and, Israel and Ephraim, shall stumble in their iniquity, even Judah with them, hath stumbled.
A soberba de Israel testificará pois no seu rosto: e Israel e Ephraim cairão pela sua injustiça, e Judah cairá juntamente com elles.
6 With their flocks and with their herds, will they go to seek Yahweh, but shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
Então irão com as suas ovelhas, e com as suas vaccas, para buscarem ao Senhor, mas não o acharão: elle se retirou d'elles.
7 With Yahweh, have they dealt treacherously, for, to alien children, have they given birth, —now, a new moon, shall devour them, with their portions.
Aleivosamente se houveram contra o Senhor, porque geraram filhos estranhos: agora a lua nova os consumirá com as suas porções.
8 Blow ye a horn in Gibeah, a trumpet in Ramah, —sound an alarm at Beth-aven, behind thee, O Benjamin!
Tocae a buzina em Gibeath, a trombeta em Rama: gritae altamente em Beth-aven; após ti, a Benjamin.
9 Ephraim, shall become, a desolation, in the day of rebuke: Throughout the tribes of Israel, have I hide known what is sure.
Ephraim será para assolação no dia do castigo: entre as tribus de Israel manifestei o que certo está.
10 The rulers of Judah have become as they who remove a land-mark. Upon them, will I pour out, like water, my wrath.
Os principes de Judah foram feitos como os que traspassam os limites: derramarei pois o meu furor sobre elles como agua.
11 Oppressed, is Ephraim, crushed in judgment, —because he hath, wilfully, walked after falsehood.
Ephraim opprimido e quebrantado é no juizo, porque assim quiz: andou após o mandamento.
12 But, I, was like a moth, to Ephraim, —and like rotten wood to the house of Judah.
Portanto a Ephraim serei como a traça, e á casa de Judah como a podridão.
13 When Ephraim, saw, his injury, and Judah his wound, then went Ephraim unto Assyria, and [Judah] sent unto a hostile king, —yet, he, cannot heal you, nor will the wound, remove from you.
Vendo pois Ephraim a sua enfermidade, e Judah a sua inchação, subiu Ephraim á Assyria e enviou ao rei Jareb; mas elle não poderá sarar-vos, nem vos curará a inchação.
14 For, I, will be as a lion unto Ephraim, and as a young lion to the house of Judah, —I, I, will tear in pieces, and depart, I will carry off, and none be able to rescue.
Porque a Ephraim serei como um leão, e como um leãosinho á casa de Judah!: eu, eu o despedaçarei, e ir-me-hei embora; eu levarei, e não haverá quem livre
15 I will depart, will return unto my place! till what time they acknowledge their guilt, and seek my face, —In their trouble, will they make for me diligent search.
Andarei, e tornarei ao meu logar, até que se reconheçam culpados e busquem a minha face: estando elles angustiados, de madrugada me buscarão.
