Hosea 5
1 Hear ye this—O priests, and attend, O house of Israel, and ye, House of the King, give ear, for, to you, pertaineth the sentence, —for, a snare, have ye been to Mizpah, and a net spread on Tabor.
૧“હે યાજકો, તમે આ સાંભળો. હે ઇઝરાયલ લોકો, ધ્યાન આપો. હે રાજકુટુંબ તું સાંભળ. કેમ કે તમારી વિરુદ્ધ ચુકાદો આવી રહ્યો છે. મિસ્પાહમાં તમે ફાંદારૂપ બન્યા હતા, તાબોર પર જાળની જેમ પ્રસરેલા છો.
2 And, a slaughter, have apostates deeply designed, —though, I, was a rebuker to them all.
૨બંડખોરો ભ્રષ્ટાચારમાં નિમગ્ન થયા છે, પણ હું તમને સર્વને શિક્ષા કરનાર છું.
3 I, have known Ephraim, and, Israel, hath not been hidden from me, —for, now, hast thou committed unchastity, O Ephraim, Israel, hath made himself impure.
૩હું એફ્રાઇમને ઓળખું છું, ઇઝરાયલ મારાથી છુપાયેલું નથી. કેમ કે હે, એફ્રાઇમ તું તો ગણિકાના જેવું છે; ઇઝરાયલ અપવિત્ર છે.
4 Their doings, will not suffer, them to return unto their God, —for, the spirit of unchastity, is within them, and, Yahweh, have they not known.
૪તેમનાં કામો તેમને પોતાના ઈશ્વર તરફ પાછા ફરતાં રોકશે, કેમ કે તેઓમાં વ્યભિચારનો આત્મા છે, તેઓ યહોવાહને જાણતા નથી.
5 Therefore will the Excellency of Israel, answer, to his face, —and, Israel and Ephraim, shall stumble in their iniquity, even Judah with them, hath stumbled.
૫ઇઝરાયલનો ગર્વ તેની વિરુદ્ધ સાક્ષી આપે છે; ઇઝરાયલ તથા એફ્રાઇમ પોતાના અપરાધમાં ઠોકર ખાશે; યહૂદિયા પણ તેમની સાથે ઠોકર ખાશે.
6 With their flocks and with their herds, will they go to seek Yahweh, but shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
૬તેઓ યહોવાહની શોધ કરવા પોતાનાં ટોળું તથા જાનવર લઈને જશે, પણ તે તેઓને મળશે નહિ, કેમ કે તે તેઓની પાસેથી જતા રહ્યા છે.
7 With Yahweh, have they dealt treacherously, for, to alien children, have they given birth, —now, a new moon, shall devour them, with their portions.
૭તેઓ યહોવાહને અવિશ્વાસુ થયા છે, કેમ કે તેઓએ બીજા કોઈનાં સંતાનોને જન્મ આપ્યો છે. હવે ચંદ્રદર્શનનો દિવસ તેઓને તેમના વતન સહિત નાશ કરશે.
8 Blow ye a horn in Gibeah, a trumpet in Ramah, —sound an alarm at Beth-aven, behind thee, O Benjamin!
૮ગિબયાહમાં શિંગ તથા રામામાં રણશિંગડું વગાડો. બેથ-આવેનમાં ભયસૂચક વગાડો: ‘હે બિન્યામીન અમે તારી પાછળ છીએ!’
9 Ephraim, shall become, a desolation, in the day of rebuke: Throughout the tribes of Israel, have I hide known what is sure.
૯શિક્ષાના દિવસે એફ્રાઇમ વેરાન થઈ જશે. જે નિશ્ચે થવાનું જ છે તે મેં ઇઝરાયલના કુળોને જાહેર કર્યું છે.
10 The rulers of Judah have become as they who remove a land-mark. Upon them, will I pour out, like water, my wrath.
૧૦યહૂદિયાના આગેવાનો સરહદના પથ્થર ખસેડનારના જેવા છે. હું મારો ક્રોધ પાણીની જેમ તેઓના પર રેડીશ.
11 Oppressed, is Ephraim, crushed in judgment, —because he hath, wilfully, walked after falsehood.
૧૧એફ્રાઇમ કચડાઈ ગયો છે, તે ન્યાયનીરૂએ કચડાઈ ગયો છે, કેમ કે તે મૂર્તિઓની પાછળ ચાલવા રાજી હતો,
12 But, I, was like a moth, to Ephraim, —and like rotten wood to the house of Judah.
૧૨તેથી હું એફ્રાઇમને ઉધાઈ સમાન, યહૂદિયાના લોકોને સડારૂપ છું.
13 When Ephraim, saw, his injury, and Judah his wound, then went Ephraim unto Assyria, and [Judah] sent unto a hostile king, —yet, he, cannot heal you, nor will the wound, remove from you.
૧૩જ્યારે એફ્રાઇમે પોતાની બીમારી જોઈ, અને યહૂદિયાએ પોતાનો ઘા જોયો, ત્યારે એફ્રાઇમ આશ્શૂરની પાસે ગયો અને મોટા રાજા યારેબની પાસે સંદેશાવાહક મોકલ્યો. પણ તે તમને સાજા કરી શકે એમ નથી કે, તમારા ઘા રુઝાવી શકે એમ નથી.
14 For, I, will be as a lion unto Ephraim, and as a young lion to the house of Judah, —I, I, will tear in pieces, and depart, I will carry off, and none be able to rescue.
૧૪કેમ કે હું એફ્રાઇમ પ્રત્યે સિંહની જેમ, યહૂદિયાના લોકો પ્રત્યે જુવાન સિંહ જેવો થઈશ. હું, હા હું જ, તેઓને ફાડી નાખીને જતો રહીશ; હું તેમને પકડી લઈ જઈશ, તેઓની રક્ષા કરનાર કોઈ હશે નહિ.
15 I will depart, will return unto my place! till what time they acknowledge their guilt, and seek my face, —In their trouble, will they make for me diligent search.
૧૫તેઓ પોતાનો અપરાધ કબૂલ કરીને મારું મુખ શોધશે; પોતાના દુ: ખના સમયે તેઓ મને આતરુતાથી શોધશે, ત્યારે હું મારે સ્થાને પાછો જઈશ.”
